Hopefully they didn't notice your embarrassment Ilove? Did you use gorgeous pics?

I did look at the OG FB page for a while but nothing new, and the standard comment to everything is about a second series. If they could get past that look at all the other things they are missing out on!!

Was thinking about who could play CJs dad and I'd go for Clive Mantel. Still think about who could be his mum. Really bored at school fair, could you tell?!

firegirl · 13/12/2014 12:50

I'm thinking Sheila Hancock and Tom Conti for mum and dad, too old?

What stall are you on Nickel? Mulled wine duty tends to pass the time!

Nickel45 · 13/12/2014 13:12

Books firegirl, haven't managed to wander round yet, but can't smell wine or food Confused. Sheila Hancock would work if they were older parents. Was Tom Conti the one who played rachel's dad in friends? I have a bit of a soft spot for Clive mantel, I remember him in casualty a long long time ago!!

orphan · 13/12/2014 13:17

I'm going Celia Imrie and Charles Dance. I think they do the right level of poshness. Plus I can imagine CJ's dad as having been in the army and Charles Dance looks like the Brigadier type.

Ilovelblue · 13/12/2014 13:24

I like the idea of Clare Holman (I think that's her name) as his mother. She was the forensic scientist in Lewis. Still thinking about who could play his father.

I had the Captain Stern Face picture in my quiz yesterday. And in answer to the question, I'm afraid they did know I was embarrassed. My colleagues thought it was hilarious!

firegirl · 13/12/2014 13:28

yes, of course it fits that his dad may also have been an army man. Have just looked up Clive Mantel as I couldn't remember who he was and he could pass as army too I reckon. Tom Conti was Emily's dad, married to Jennifer Saunders in friends, she's definitely NOT his mum!
Changing the subject slightly I only found out a few weeks ago that Baz Vegas was Patsy Palmer's son!

Nickel45 · 13/12/2014 13:49

I didn't know that baz vegas was her son. Didn't even realise she was old enough to have a son that old? Am now going to have a look just him again!!

Nickel45 · 13/12/2014 14:03

Oh yes, claire Holman would be good. TG should give us consultancy jobs!!

cjwoofwoof · 13/12/2014 15:13

What about Martin Shaw as his Dad? I only say this coz he was the last major crush I had pre-CJ - mental or what? - when he was Doyle in The Professionals. It was the crazy perm and cheekbone scar that did it for me in those days. Luckily my taste has grown/improved with age, but still think he's pretty tasty for 60+, but maybe not posh enough to be CJs Dad.

Oh and can Richard Armitage be his brother and Crixus from Spartacus his sexy uncle, along with Ray Donovan and Antony Starr from Banshee as distant cousins from abroad?

cjwoofwoof · 13/12/2014 15:16

...and the two blokes out of Strike Back could be ex-Army colleagues on a visit to Bath.

cjwoofwoof · 13/12/2014 15:27

...and Benedict Cumbersome could be the ugly twin who got the shit end of the stick and is locked away under the stairs that you fall down - forever - (not that I'm bitter).

cjwoofwoof · 13/12/2014 15:28

...and Dame Judi Dench as his Nan

Nickel45 · 13/12/2014 15:34

Ooh, yes cjwoof and can we have jude law somewhere too (my last feeble attempt at a crush, in that I probably watched Holiday six times in you two weeks rather than six times in one day (slight exaggeration?))!

cjwoofwoof · 13/12/2014 15:38

Ooh yes Nickel, Jude Law could be a long lost half-brother from his Dad's time playing away in the army...along with Idris Elba - now we're talking!

firegirl · 13/12/2014 16:11

Got to have Matthew McNulty back. But maybe not in combats though. Could he be the gardener? Silent type, rugged clothes, perhaps catches the eye of Mrs James...

icemistOBE · 13/12/2014 16:11

ooh good choices on the parents and possible brothers etc

icemistOBE · 13/12/2014 16:12

Having Matthew mcnulty back as Geddings would be a good angle as although nothing happened between him and Molly there was a spark. Him and Molly on tour with CJ at home....

icemistOBE · 13/12/2014 16:16

Crikey my YouTube video (2nd one) has been watched nearly 400 times!!

Nickel45 · 13/12/2014 16:19

Wow! Does it tell you who watched it? Is it just us watching it lots of times? Blush Honest, I didn't watch it that much!!

Rhubarb01 · 13/12/2014 16:21

OMG you can't mention Matthew McNulty as a silent gardener type catching Mrs James eye without major flashbacks to Mellors in Lady Chatterley's Lover who I recall was played by Sean Bean a few years ago.

Would very much like to see MM back in OG, though.

I just can't get the YouTube video to play - bloody computer just buffers forever. So I have nothing to watch except my nodding BA pics!

icemistOBE · 13/12/2014 16:23

Oh no Rhubarb, wonder if I can do a different share for you. Shall investigate later.i deleted one off my phone otherwise I could have sent it to u.

orphan · 13/12/2014 16:57

Yes, yes, yes to Richard Armitage as the brother and of course I'd have to have Viggo (pre raisin state) as the uncle who lives abroad and writes poetry and paints. CJ gets his sensitive side from him.

icemistOBE · 13/12/2014 17:13

Hubby on Xmas work do tonight. Think I'll watch OG instead of xfactor final

cjwoofwoof · 13/12/2014 18:03

I'm now thinking Jeremy Irons or Anthony Andrews as Dad as they're a bit posh but well worn old soldier types, with maybe Julian Clary as a misfit uncle who Molly adores when she's spurned by the rest of the family? Liking MM as a gardener or Geddings having another crack at Molly, with CJ getting extremely jealous and putting on an extremely stern face, yum.

Richtea19 · 13/12/2014 18:28

Just in from another christmas lunch (fat cow), loving the idea of actors/actresses to play dad/mum. Jeremy Irons, yes! Perfectly posh. Maggie Smith for nan. Julie Walter for Molly's mad aunts. Can the members of One Direction be cousins? Slightly in love with Zane (cougar!)

Just cracked a bottle open and getting ready for bumper strictly and xfactor.

icemist since the revelation of watching US programs online, I have found a site called "losmovies.com" where I found Season 6 of The Good Wife (not airing in UK till next year) and I can watch it!!!!! So much I am learning from OG!!
