Am watching the bbc3 programme on Afghanistan on I player. Tough watching, good to see how accurate OG was.

I'm trying to get a hold on RL and get organised. So not happening this year -now why might that be???

RL not happening for me either, only just began Xmas shopping today and got my DD's party still to sort for Sunday!

I'm liking BA with a dark side in Reign, my only issue is with the programme itself..it looks like one of those over the top historical jobs with a ropey script. I'm judging purely on appearances at the mo, because if I'm being honest I skipped most of it to get to the BA bit! Giving it the benefit of the doubt for now, let's see what and how much BA we see (in all senses) we get after the season break.

DH has gone to bed earlier so enjoying episode 3 on wide screen. BA looks good in reign but as yet not a patch on CJ. Trying to work out what exactly makrs thf difference. futher lusting research needed me thinks

I still think I prefer CJ too, but not adverse to lusting over watching BA in Reign, just for Operation Bulge comparison purposes between combats and leather, obviously

Nighty night, fellows OG/reign/OBE etc...am in the middle of nowhere with hardly any mobile reception and 3G is probably rationed (2:21am it works...most afternoon it didn't). I simpathise with the withdrawal symptoms expressed by some of you (and by our heroes on the mountain pass). Don't even try to access the earlier links because I think network would never make it. Also, am surrounded by drunks. Innocuous ones (colleagues), but should they see any image of sword fighting I think they'd get inspired and attempt to mock it...and none of them is in the right condition, let alone the physique...
I am going to hit my pit! I am knackered ;-) but if you have any requests for a coat of arms of our "family", or medals etc...tomorrow I'll get paper and pencil!!

Morning. Thanks for the pics icemist. We have broadened our horizons! I have watched your youtube clip a few times this morning as part of my serious research. My conclusion thus far is BA in leathers and shirt half undone is all very nice, but as yet nothing beats a CJ in combats, with forearms and a shaggy helmet. Will be interesting. to see if he manages to surpass himself in the future.

cherin I've been thinking (whilst trying to get DS to write cards) maybe you could design a CO Collective Christmas card :)

Ooh nice pics to wake up to icemist. Still thinking modern day combats beat Tudor leather...just, although I'm not against the continuation of very thorough research into every nook and cranny, so to speak.

I survived my night out, tad hung over this morning. Nothing OG passed my lips, and my friends that were worried so about me going to the carols with an online friend didn't even ask how I got on! Decided just not to bring it up. Felt odd, as I wanted to talk about Reign, the new order of medals, obe etc. anyway I'm ramberling..... Conclusion is, I love you lot, please always be there for me and just be brilliant!

Round two today, out for lunch. I'm going to need serious army Bootcamp training after christmas to shitpft all this excess Christmas cheer!

Morning all. Was absolutely shattered last night after our charity event at work and decided to treat myself to watching as much OG DVD as I wanted but in the end, I had to force myself into wrapping up more Christmas presents, though I did have it on in the background and kept stopping when it got to one of my favourite parts.

Thanks for the YouTube link icemist. I actually laughed when I saw BA speaking - like you all said, the voice, the intonations etc were just like CJ. He does have a lovely speaking voice. Not convinced it's my kind of thing though. Don't shoot me, but the programme looks as if it might be a bit tacky. Am sure BA could do better for himself coming back to OG!

orphan how did you get on with your friend who worried about your CJ obsession? I am still debating whether to admit to my elderly friend (who thought this was a porn forum) about our fanfiction or not on Monday night.

Anyway, back to wrapping up presents I think this morning. It's very frosty here so I have no desire to go outside just at the moment. I need to stay focused, even though I am only semi-alert today. Reckon I will manage to stay alive though.

The leather clad bad boy BA is lovely and I'm looking forward to more of him, but CJ just has that something special (first love). I think his face is a little leaner and more chiseled as well.

really wanted to talk about all things CJ related. It's really starting to fell like I am leading a double life and I'm not quite sure if that's healthy or not! (No one knew of course they were in the presence of an MBE!)

ilove OG wasn't mentioned at all. I know if I let on about this thread she'd think I'd lost my marbles. As far as my friends are concerned it's OK to have a crush on an actor, but in the realms of nutterdom to actually post about it!

Any chance NVM and I could get a medal for Boots on the Ground? BOTG ? Doesn't sound very good!!! Something similar.
Orphan, yet feels just like a double life, it was a very strange feeling last night, like I was keeping secrets. A therapist would have a field day!!!

Richtea and orphan - I know what you mean about a double life. Never, ever, ever in all my 49+ years have I felt like this about a fictional character and the fact that there have been visits to Newham, a pending visit to Bailbrook House and the carol concert (ok, there were unforeseen problems there) proves we have soooooooooo taken it all to heart. I don't mind the double life actually - it's my little secret that I can laugh about to myself.

Mmm richtea will have to think of a better honour for you in recognition of superlative field work. I was thinking of a motto for the honours but according to the Latin translation site I used in awe of the bulge came out as in metu tumor which doesn't sound very appealing!

Off to buy our Christmas tree which will involve at least an hour of manhandling every single tree displayed and turning them round to see what they look like from every conceivable angle, then returning to the first one and buying it.

Totally agree- reign as a series not so good. But there is the upside of BA in it and I guess for him it's actually something he's acted in that's been shown in the US/Canada so might lead to more work stateside.

They're on Twitter about who would play CJ's parents - Colin Firth and Anna Chancellor- I don't think either are old enough

Out shopping with 5yr old. We have quite a few presents to buy as well as grocery shopping but 1st stop is Costa I also have a sticky gift tag with a drag on mind you if you saw me you wouldn't see it under my coat....

My goodness, you've all been busy. cherin, I hesitate to ask what you were doing in the middle of a field at 2 in the morning .... Sounds fun?!?!

Have to say, I'm quite enjoying my double life! It's good to have a little chuckle to yourself ... Maybe not quite as often, but hey! But I'm the same, wanting to talk CJ, OG, etc ... But no one else understands, how can they .... See what I mean, try and be sensible and Smurfisms creep in!! Pretty sure my friends think I'm slowly going mad ... Just as well I can carry on like this on here!

Anyway, spent the last hour trying to get my two to write Christmas cards ... Got about four done! With lots tears and tantrums - who knew writing your name was so traumatic! Now off to work at a school fete. Hopefully I can get a signal!!

How many of you look at the Our Girl Facebook page (not the anonymous stuff)? I originally thought it must be something the BBC put out there but came to realise it can't be. They seem to rehash all sorts of old stuff that those of us who are diehard CJ fans have known about for weeks and all the responses are pretty much the same ("When are we getting the next series" etc etc). In one of their postings yesterday, they didn't even spell Dawes correctly. I should have thought that was fairly fundamental to the entire theme.

I know we complain that nobody seems to have watched OG in RL and therefore we have no "real" people to discuss it all with but on the other hand, you could have had my embarrassing situation yesterday, where, in a room of about 50 people, the two who recognised CJ in the picture quiz blurted out to everyone who could hear that he was your current heart throb. Fortunately, I was already red in the face with rushing around so a bit more embarrassment didn't make much difference!
