Fallon I just googled to check when it was out, all ready to be outraged that it was only last year, I then realised it's Gone Girl I'm thinking of...! However, you still spoilt Gone baby gone, so I don't forgive you though I think I may have actually seen it!

Gone Girl/Gone Baby Gone mix up? I know a Gone Girl spoiler would have pissed a few people off (me included).

Anyway. Good point about the Romanians not knowing that Olleh was going to be swimming. How many people knew he was going? It was a last minute decision. How well could an abduction be planned if you didn't know where the target was going to be? So it could have been completely opportunistic. We know Vincent was a regular at the pool and that his alibi was fake.

I remembered something else to back up my Alain and Silvie theory...

They knew Ollie was going swimming as Tony and Emily declaimed that they had to go back to the hotel to get the stuff first. I am sure that line of dialogue was put there deliberately. Therefore, apart from Tony and Emily, they are the only ones who knew Ollie would be at the pool at that time to take him. No one else knew they would be there as it was a spur of the moment thing. Therefore, if the abduction was anything but random...

They are also the only people, except Emily (who I am still suspicious of) and Tony who could have got hold of the missing scarf.

And Silvie was the one who posted the scarf picture to Facebook.

Alain went off to a mysterious meeting. Maybe with Romanian gang who were paid to do abducting? Hence cleaning guy.

Maybe Alain and Silvie took Ollie for their childless child (is it a niece that the mayor speaks of who he can't see as often as he would like?). Mayor knows and wants to cover it up/ not reopen case.

Ian/Vincent are/were a red herring.

No worries, I've asked for the post to be deleted on the off chance that anyone on this thread was planning to sit down and watch Gone Baby Gone anytime soon .

Didn't Ian say something about building foundations to Vincent when we first saw them meet?

My list of suspects would be:

Greg - revenge / Ollie really his son

Mark - conveniently placed to disrupt the investigation and we know he was there when Ollie went missing.

Romanian Gang leader - seen outside house where Ollie was held

Garage men - directed Ollie's family to Hotel L'Eden, could keep them in the area by taking their time fixing the car.

Sylvie & Alain - because of Alain's mysterious meeting after Ollie's family arrived at Hotel L'Eden. Possibly related to corrupt mayor.

Georges - mayor, so can control investigation, related to Alain (Hotel L'Eden) and friend of Ian, who we know is dodgy. Seems to do Ian favours.

Ian - known paedophile.

Vincent - associated with Ian, has a false alibi, in the area when Ollie disappeared.

Malik - don't like him. He says he "knows" what happened to Ollie. Would do anything for a story.

Mary - took Ollie to replace Molly because she's already a bit unbalanced? Maybe Ian covered it up?

Emily - scared that Ollie was not safe around Tony due to Tony's temper? Perhaps Tony did cause the fracture? But she does seem genuinely distraught so I don't think she's very likely.

Corrupt police officer

I don't suspect:

Tony - genuinely distraught and why would he still be searching for Ollie.

Baptiste - too lovely

Laurence - too lovely

Monique - no motive

Have I forgotten anyone?

Who is Laurence?

I really don't think the car/ garage is significant at all.

They broke down. Garage fixed car.

Also the Greg thing is over and dealt with. It was a storyline to demonstrate Tony's temper and hot headedness. He was work colleague of wife, they got friendly. Tony suspected affair and thumped him. Done.
