The cleaner guy could have assumed the call for a clean up came from the Romanians, but it could have been from anyone who knew he did that type of work. The undercover police officer may have known and passed that info to the police, so quite a lot of people may have known.

They both have a distinctive botton lip don't they?

DH and I were also surprised the parents didn't question Sieg further about whether Ollie had definitely been killed, how much blood was there, was it possible it was someone else's blood etc. Even after 8 years I'd be like a dog with a bone.

I don't think Mark is involved, he was on holiday - using the house would mean someone who lived there I think.

I was wondering if the last episode would be almost the same as the first but with the gaps filled in - the bits 'off camera' that led up to the kidnapping, the kidnapping and a bit of what followed. But I haven't rewatched the first episode unlike some of you geeks so I'm not sure if that would work.

Yes! It could be the throat cutter - the blood in the basement could be from a cut throat, not entirely convinced whose though

What happened to the 52 tapes?

The police found them in 2006 when they found the boat. They didn't say much about them though, just what they contained. So no idea if there are any adults other than Ian on the tapes.

I am pretty sure the police said the tapes were to horrific to watch so they weren't going to bother?!

And anyway, they implicated Ian so the didn't publise them because Ian was finding the mayor.

Was it Rini's brother who cut her throat or was it someone else? The screenshot on previous page- that is the throat cutter? And/or the brother?

The screen shot is the throat cutter. He was with Rini's brother when they met in the cafe in 2006 and slashed her throat

I don't think Malik ever said he was writing the book to make money?? I am now getting convinced that he is a good guy.

The police, mayor and everyone else in the town is involved in the disapearence of Ollie to some extent or other. Look how the 53 tapes of evidence of child kidnapping, abuse and murder got hidden away (destroyed?).

Therefore the only way for the Ugly Truth to come out is for Malik to publish it to the world himself.

Whatever happened at/to Charmartain showed him there is no point in trusting the police as they are all corrupt and the truth gets hidden away. He sees the same thing in the Ollie case and therefore is getting justice for Ollie through his book.

Why would Baptiste allow those child abuse tapes to be covered up?

Malik is a despicable slimy snake.They can show him hand rearing baby hedgehogs he saved and he'll still be on my bad list.

I don't know if the tapes were covered up completely, but they did say they had to keep them out of the press. Maybe they weren't mentioned in previous episodes because it would be a spoiler. I refuse to believe Baptiste would do something that bad; perhaps his retirement is something to do with the tapes.

My understanding is that Ziane murdered someone called Charmataine back in Morocco (SPOILER:

There is a character called Charmataine on next week's cast list)

and the journalist has the evidence of this (the dossier of which he left for Baptiste at the police station). Charmataine is not a place or related to Martin or anything like that.

I want to know how Mark suddenly popped up when Ziane was assaulting Baptiste in the car park. Are we to assume he was in the police station and randomly looked out of the the window to see what was happening? Or is he actually following Baptiste to keep tabs of his investigation and reporting back to someone?

Hi, just delurking to say Anouar Charmataines is in the cast list of episode 1, so he is a person. I have nothing more to add, cos I am properly confused but just hope it is finished within this series, I hate hate hate when they drag stuff out too long.

Anyone else think the older computer generated pic of Ollie in the newspaper looked like Vincent bourg? I know it can't be, just found that wierd!

The shot of all the toys in Malik's house was def a clue or why put it there? But what? Has Malik kidnapped Ollie as it's the only way of exposing a paedophile ring and that's his ultimate goal?? Or is Malik a cold blooded murderer/paedophile himself?

I think I recall Zidane saying he was set up when Malik visited him in prison so maybe it wasn't a real piece of evidence? Just something he knew would get him out the way... Malik thought it was real evidence that incriminated him in something else hence he went after baptiste to retrieve it. Thus allowing Malik to remove evidence that connected him to the Oliver case?

Maybe Malik's whole I know the truth thing is... That he does cos he did it... But he can avoid suspicion by acting the part of someone trying to find out what happened

Also agree it was very bizarre when Zieg, Romanian cleaner villian said the man in the mask took the boy away and Tony and Emily didn't ask "Was he alive?" which is the first thing anyone in their right mind would say.

I assumed the toys shot meant the journo now had small kids, this will be what prings his conscience when he finds the BIG CLUE.

I just think that the only stuff that was in the envelope were copies of all the dossiers and files that Ziane had leaked to Malik...Ziane was worried they would out it was him and it would ruin his career.
I will be devastated if Baptiste turns out to be a bad guy. I love him.
