Blood can never be fully cleaned up. Traces always remain, and can be discovered through chemical means e.g. luminol-type preparations.

I thought that Karl's line about leaving Ollie's drawing so that he didn't "completely disappear" was chilling. Surely someone only completely disappears if they're dead?

Malik doesn't care about the case. He only want to write his book and make money out of the case. He should have left the evidence with the police if he cared.

There is a refreshing lack of forensics going on as well.

What else he cleaned up
Where he disposed of it
What happened to the cleaning equipment and his van - did he sell it on?

They didn't even ask him about the drawing - He had to volunteer the information!

Is there some kind of thing in this series about bad guys being good guys and good guys being bad guys?

And/Or people doing the 'right' thing for the 'wrong' reasons (Malik's investigations) or the 'wrong' thing for the 'right' reasons (Baptiste covering up the evidence of Tony's shirt)

Yes, it's weird that the police found nothing. And also that Tony, Emily and Baptiste didn't question Sieg further about the bloke in the mask- a few words is enough to tell whether he was French or not. Maybe they don't believe Sieg and don't think it's worth pursuing.

Good theory about Malik's personal involvement. it would make sense if his brother had gone missing and his dad had been involved in the search as a parent.

Yes, I think he knew he was dead - he'd done similar clean ups before.

I wonder if Malik will turn out to be good. Is Baptiste corrupt? ;sadly I think we will find he is.
Mark is definitely part of the corruption as he kept the envelope after Baptiste was attacked. Maybe double crossed him? Didn't Baptiste say in the last episode he had to go to the UK or am I imagining that, maybe to challenge Mark.

Nor Mark - the eyes don't match.

We don't know that Mark kept the envelope. I think it was evidence of Malik' s corruption rather than anything to do with Ollie, so he may well have handed it over.
