Original thread here, disappearing scarves, grey-haired doppelgängers and twin theories abound. Has anyone done a spreadsheet yet?

Maybe it was a memory stick or a set of keys, and Mark probably did take it.

funambulist · 02/12/2014 22:23

Just finished watching the last episode. So now we know:

How Baptiste's leg was injured - slammed in a car door by Ziane.

Why Ziane is in prison - assaulting Baptiste and being involved in an unsolved murder (I think) in a Morocco that Malik's dad had evidence of.

What happened to the evidence from the drain - Ziane gave it to Malik for 24 hours, but rather than returning it so that it could form part of the investigation Malik has kept it. Probably so that he can make millions by revealing the solution to the case in his book.

How Ian got away with murder - sank Ian's body at sea, set the boat adrift, put his bloody shirt in concrete. Then Baptiste made sure he was there 8 years later when the concrete was broken up, nabbed the shirt and gave it to Tony.

Tony and Emily are still together 2/3 weeks after Ollie's disappearance but not for much longer now she knows he murdered Ian, I suspect.

Does anyone have theories about the following:

Have we met Baptiste's daughter before?

Who is implicated by the drain evidence? Malik reacted as if it was significant. Malik seems to be chasing Vincent. Does this mean it implicates him?

MsRyanGosling · 02/12/2014 22:23

Oh ignore me. Of course it's not the scarf, that was sold in the charity shop!

Bakeoffcakes · 02/12/2014 22:24

My dd phoned half way through so have only just finished watching.

Do we know who to wipers on in the mask is and is it the same person who was in the house with Ollie, with the mask?

EauLittleRougeofBethlehem · 02/12/2014 22:24

I wonder if Ziane is in prison just for assaulting Baptiste or whether all the stuff about him murdering this Charmataines bloke comes out. That must have been what was in the envelope.

I love Baptiste for keeping Tony out of prison.

Yes, wtf about those toys in the journalist's house. He's an odd one. I don't like him. I am dying to know what Vincent tells him. He must know something and has been covering up the whole time.

EauLittleRougeofBethlehem · 02/12/2014 22:25

I don't recall Baptiste's daughter being in it before, but he did say she had fallen in with a much worse crowd- the Romanian gang maybe?

It wasn't a life-threatening amount of blood, by any stretch.

Bakeoffcakes · 02/12/2014 22:27

the person is not the wipers!

FallonColby · 02/12/2014 22:28

Whoever it was they were wearing navy converse type shoes.

ArsenicSoup · 02/12/2014 22:28

He instantly recognised it/understood its significance when he peered into the envelope. So not something generic like a button, something small that definitely points to a particular person or group of people

Charmatin definitely sounded more like jean matin/martains in that episode. So then its a person? A missing person was kind of implied by journo guy??

Chefpepperjack · 02/12/2014 22:33

I'll say it again- subtitles are your friend!

It was Charmataines, (sp?)so a place rather than a person

OttiliaVonBCup · 02/12/2014 22:33

It's a person.

Charmataines.
Don't ask how I know.
Grin

funambulist · 02/12/2014 22:33

I think that in episode 1 (available on Youtube) Ziane receives a text message from the journalist, Malik saying "Charmartin" and then a place and time to meet. I guess Charmartin is either the place of the unsolved Moroccan murder or the name of the person who was murdered.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 02/12/2014 22:34

Best episode so far imo apart from Oll- eh Confused I mean, just why ?

ArsenicSoup · 02/12/2014 22:34

I love Baptiste for keeping Tony out of prison.

He really firmed up his 'wise, sexy maverick on the side of the angels' credentials there didn't he?

EauLittleRougeofBethlehem · 02/12/2014 22:35

The evidence that Ziane found was small enough to fit in an enveloped and recognisable from one glance- must be a photo, surely. Perhaps of Olleh and whoever took him.

I agree that maybe Mark got hold of it. Unless Baptiste is lying but I cannot possibly believe that. I will throw a shit fit if he turns out to be the bad guy.

AuntieStella · 02/12/2014 22:35

Thanks for the subtitle info.

But it's not necessarily a place.

reem1 · 02/12/2014 22:35

Charmataines is a person!

cupofsneeze · 02/12/2014 22:36

Everyone has slowly been exposed as liars for good and bad reasons over the previous episodes including Baptiste tonight. I'm thinking its Marks turn next week!

reem1 · 02/12/2014 22:37

A person for sure but won't say more in case it is some sort of spoiler. Although I don't think it is.

SolomanDaisy · 02/12/2014 22:40

It's a person. It must be someone with a personal connection to the journalist, otherwise an unsolved Moroccan murder wouldn't be high profile enough for him.
