Original thread here, disappearing scarves, grey-haired doppelgängers and twin theories abound. Has anyone done a spreadsheet yet?

Araminta You may be onto something there! They would then also know the comings and goings of the guests. How creepy if that's the explanation, I have a phobia of hidden cameras.

Perhaps the TV contains a hidden camera - and that was where the 53 videos were made.

I wondered that, but wouldn't Tony have recognised the room?

Maybe not those videos but others?

dingit · 01/12/2014 18:12

That's a really horrible thought Hmm

Arsenic soup - the TV must be a clue. Could some key evidence have been hidden inside ? That would make his parents suspects.

It is mightily odd ohmygrood.

ArsenicSoup · 01/12/2014 18:17

Oops posted too soon. I just can't believe that Tony is involved. He is too driven, too obsessed with pursuing the truth. If he had been involved, or knew what happened to Ollie he could have given up by now without attracting suspicion (like Emily).

EauLittleRougeofBethlehem · 01/12/2014 18:27

No idea, I probably watched a drama or something with someone being filmed secretly. It's quite a modern phobia though, isn't it.

I don't think Tony is involved either. It would be a massive twist if he was, but I think it would ruin the whole thing for me. He's flawed but he's one of the good guys. OK, smashing someone's head to bits is a big flaw, but I'm willing to overlook it Grin

OttiliaVonBCup · 01/12/2014 18:33

It must be a character that we've already seen.
If they try and introduce someone new then it will be quite obvious.

ArsenicSoup · 01/12/2014 18:35

Yes dingit, it is all very dark.

FayeFruitLoop · 01/12/2014 19:21

Only One more blooming sleep!Grin

Wish it was tonight, what else is there to watch atm??

LineRunner · 01/12/2014 20:38

Previous episodes of The Missing!

FayeFruitLoop · 01/12/2014 20:40

Grin Linerunner

I may...

AuntieStella · 01/12/2014 20:41

"It must be a character that we've already seen.

Or it will be a plausible connection of an existing character.

Do we know what happened to Mark's wife?

AuntieStella in 2006 I noticed Mark wasn't wearing wedding ring.

AuntieStella · 01/12/2014 21:26

I was wondering how much she might know if Mark is dodgy.

Though he might not be, because although he turned up as LO implausibly and does not seem to have the level of French you'd expect for the role, the British police did know he was there and what he was doing.

reem1 · 01/12/2014 21:33

Just a thought, do you remember the opening of episode 1??? Tony sitting in the cafe watching a family with 13 year old boy (parents were occupied by a younger daughter making a fuss and boy was reading "To Kill a Mockingbird") maybe that was Ollie??????

FallonColby · 01/12/2014 21:37

AuntieStella I think he is well dodgy and that he and Emily had already known each other before 2006.

FayeFruitLoop · 01/12/2014 21:44

What about Ollie being the birth son of Sarah(?) baptiste's daughter... She stole him back?

Or she just stole him?

MarthasHarbour · 01/12/2014 21:50

Blimey what a humungous thread!! Marking my place for tomorrow night.

Absolutely loving the theories - particularly the hidden camera in the hotel.

Wellthatsit · 01/12/2014 22:50

I am so impressed with some of the theories you are all thinking up, you evil geniuses. Hadn't thought of the TV having a hidden camera. So that implicated the hotel owners (again).

meandjulio · 01/12/2014 23:44

I'm trying to watch the episodes late in the week so that there is less time to wait before the next episode [makes sense to me] but I need to come back to this thread so will be forced to watch on time...

If I were the writer conscious that the ending is a bit shit I'd be chewing my nails by now...

ILovedYouYesterday · 02/12/2014 00:44

Oooh, I think you are on to something with the TV. Why bother including a broken TV in the script? Why would it still be there and still broken after 8 years? Surely it would have been repaired, replaced or, at least, removed from the room in that time.

Is it my imagination or did the hotel owners exchange a shifty look when the family appeared with a child asking to book a room? Wish I could go back and watch the first episode now!

LineRunner · 02/12/2014 01:38

In ep 2, in the hospice, James and Emily look so alike when they hug.
