Carrie and The Shining are horror stories. Different genre.

Grilledkippers · 02/12/2014 09:33

I have a theory. Remember ep 2 little brother said "There can't be ghosts otherwise Dad would come back to see us." Well I reckon final episode when care worker gets knocked off the boat and starts to drown (we have seen the premonition) out of the murky deapths her Dad will appear to save her. I also think Tom's neighbour will hold important insight as to how to break the hold the spirit has over him. This show has been masterfully created, I keep having flashbacks to the more disturbing images. It's a lingerer that plays with the mind!

"I keep having flashbacks to the more disturbing images."

i know.

Last night I didn't sleep well, there was a child drowning just out of my reach...

Husband is away with work for a week from Sunday-to India!Shock

CatsClaus · 02/12/2014 09:53

i knew she'd go after the wee brother as soon as Hannah said to Tom he did not have to go to her!

I do love a scary thing!

Grilledkippers · 02/12/2014 09:54

I keep seeing the shape of the Ayah rising from the shadows - then realise it's the pile of washing at the end of my bed!!

Wassailywassailywassaily · 02/12/2014 12:44

There were a few glaring continuity issues with Hannah's hair, I was wondering if they are deliberate?

I don't normally watch scary TV but Remember Me is really enjoyable

Nessalina · 02/12/2014 13:12

I was watching the extremely fluffy Best Exotic Marigold Hotel last night and a lady in a red sari popped up at the side of the screen and I jumped! Blush

Deux · 02/12/2014 16:02

One of our radiators has been dripping. It's now stopped and I immediately thought of this programme.

My imagination is running away with me.

TheDietStartsTomorrow · 03/12/2014 00:27

I'm another one who doesn't usually watch scary stuff chicken that I am but was lured by this thread.

It is very creepy isn't it? Just finished watching episode 2 now, at half past midnight.

BoreOfWhabylon · 03/12/2014 08:03

Loving this! Have only watched episode 1 so far but my theory is the Thing that was on the beach and is doing the killing and haunting is not a human thing/ghost but an Indian goddess - when it stood up on the beach it didn't have a human outline but seemed to unfurl a trunk!

So, elephant goddess, sent by Indian nanny to protect Young Tom that has stayed upstairs and will protect him for ever and ever by killing anyone who gets close to him.

Have recorded Episode 2 to watch in daylight!

Travelledtheworld · 03/12/2014 12:02

Loving this. Just wasted an hour of house cleaning time watching this weeks episode on the iPlayer...... Cant watch it at night.

Great shots of Scarborough under a cloudy sky.

Can someone explain, was the care worker Shirley sitting there in her own kitchen dead, or just paralysed with fear ? Why hadn't the paramedics who were just leaving the house, tried to resuscitate her ?

BMW6 · 03/12/2014 20:32

She was stone dead - way past resucitation?

WandaFuca · 03/12/2014 21:27

I think that Shirley had been electrocuted. From memory, there were a lot of flickering lights, indicating "issues" with the power supply, and I think there were shots of water dripping down from the light fitting right above her.

Paramedics won't try to resuscitate someone who is clearly deceased; they will leave the body in situ for the police/coroner to investigate.

Travelledtheworld · 04/12/2014 19:39

Oh thanks for that explanation' wandafuca.
She had taken an overdose of pills with Vodka. I tried to read the label on the tablet container but it seemed to be some sort of pesticide......

colleysmill · 05/12/2014 16:48

I've still not managed to watch episode 2 yet (although we live by a stream which hasn't helped - lots of running water sounds) but I'm psyching myself up for tonight

colleysmill · 07/12/2014 18:47

Ok I managed to get through ep 2 last night and poor Shirley definitely looked electrocuted to me and staged to look like suicide. Tom wasn't scared at all (and that fits with the scene with him faking his falling down the stairs)

Looking forward (ish) to tonight's last installment - just hope there isn't a big cliff hanger!

Nessalina · 07/12/2014 20:56

Ready for more terror? Who's watching? Smile

colleysmill · 07/12/2014 20:58

I have Wine and a cushion at the ready!!!

TillHammerZeit · 07/12/2014 21:06

Watching here too.

scarffiend · 07/12/2014 21:11

This is ever so scary! I love it!

TillHammerZeit · 07/12/2014 21:17

I missed so many details last week. I should have watched episode 2 again before watching this.

I have been wondering if Tom might be as sinister as Isha, but perhaps not.

barkingtreefrog · 07/12/2014 21:30

If Tom is older than 110, surely the sister of his dead wife would be older than she looked?

TillHammerZeit · 07/12/2014 21:34

Tom is making my skin crawl again. Is he taking years from others to stay 'young'?

Is he a ghost?

HaveToWearHeels · 07/12/2014 21:41

I think his dead wife was quite a lot younger him treefrog

barkingtreefrog · 07/12/2014 21:43

Yes, just realised that in the interview.

What's she going to do to the children?! And what does Nancy know?
