Anyone watching?

OP posts:
BMW6 · 30/11/2014 22:36

I know the newspaper article said his wife drowned, but I'm wondering if the old lady in the care home is actually the wife..... when she first saw him she looked really shaken, then said "he hasn't changed" in tonights episode.

She obviously knows him

BMW6 · 30/11/2014 22:38

Oh bummer I missed seeing a death certificate for wife - that's my theory shot to shite then Grin

susiella · 30/11/2014 22:42

His wife died in a fall.

susiella · 30/11/2014 22:44

ONE of his wives died in a fall, Dorothea. If he's immortal he probably had others..........

TillHammerZeit · 30/11/2014 22:45

I wondered if the old woman was a member of the stage show,Fol de Rols, and performed along side him.

Clawdy · 30/11/2014 22:50

Somehow tonight's wasn't as scary as last week's. I think it would be more effective if we never saw the ayah's face.

Nessalina · 30/11/2014 23:06

Yes, in watching through my fingers, I was surprised to see a fairly normal looking nose under the sari hood...

susiella · 30/11/2014 23:06

Agreed, not as scary. Tonight was all moody skies, shots of trees, etc. Yorkshire looked well gloomy again, though. Last weeks episode had more 'made you jump' moments.
I think the good neighbour will be more involved, perhaps that's why she doen't like going in Tom's house.

sliceofsoup · 30/11/2014 23:19

Watched that through my fingers. Absolutely terrifying.

Ayah must be his nanny, as she is in the photos with him as a child. But why is she obsessed with him? And if she was in that house with him why did it take them all to be in Scarborough before she could take him?

Confused and scared.

I'm loving the mystery of all this, can't wait to see how it ends next week. I think someone upthread has it though when they said that Tom just wants to go now, and that Isha wants another boy to take his place.

It's very atmospheric, but I don't find it in the least bit scary!

colleysmill · 01/12/2014 07:29

I was so tired last night we recorded this because I didint think i would sleep otherwise.

I'm hoping if I've read the thread I won't be quite so terrified when watching it!!

BeeOrchid · 01/12/2014 08:14

Frankly colleysmill that strategy didn't work for me.

colleysmill · 01/12/2014 09:18

I'm a terrible wuss when it comes to ghost stories - the BBC version of Crickley Hall that was on few years ago gave me the heebie jeebies and I couldn't sleep for weeks. Why I do it to myself I don't know!!!

Hopefully I am now prepared for the hissing and roaring but I'll have my cushion ready!!!!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 01/12/2014 10:17

Oh good grief there's ANOTHER episode next week?I thought it was going to finish last night and now I have to watch next week as well Grin I might just come on here for an update Wink

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 01/12/2014 10:18

Why was the mum making cakes in the dark with just a lamp on the table?

OwlCapone · 01/12/2014 10:20

I assumed it was simply because she has mental health issues following the death of her husband.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 01/12/2014 10:26

I thought the electricity had been cut off but then realised the lamp was on and got confused.

LeopardInABobbleHat · 01/12/2014 10:40

I found it more sad than creepy this week. The spirit obviously loves Tom and always has. Interesting that she's not targeting Roshanna's youngest boy - there's a theme of 'bad'/neglectful parenting and children needing to be looked after and Roshanna has escaped her attentions because she sees her as a 'good' mother imo.

Noyoucantwatchpeppapig · 01/12/2014 12:05

I have found watching it in daytime to be much better, also can fast forward any really scary bits. Agree that she now wants the brother because Tom has had enough and wants to die.

Deux · 01/12/2014 12:27

I've just watched the second episode on iplayer, in broad daylight, with only the cat for company.

I thought I'd be OK but feel so creeped out by it all. Was that chequered floor/pavillion in Scarborough?

I really need to go upstairs but feeling worried! It's daylight. Wish I had a dog instead of stupid, slumbering cat.

I'm terrifying myself. I'm going to have to get DH watch with me next week. It must surely come under his promise to be a loyal, faithful and dutiful husband.

getdownshep · 01/12/2014 13:19

I noticed the reflection in the bus window but dh said I was imagining it!
I thought if you took something from the house the spirit followed you?
When Roshanna found the picture under her sons pillow I thought she would appear in her house next. Or in the policeman's office as he had the small framed photo.
I only jumped three times last night and went upstairs on my own.Grin

OwlCapone · 01/12/2014 13:40

Was that chequered floor/pavillion in Scarborough?

Yes, and visible from Street View!

Can the cards from the Queen be real? If he really is 110 everyone would know of him.
