Anyone watching , so far quite tense especially the music

OP posts:

Dame I agree, this doesn't make me think of MM as I am watching intently for plot clues!

There would be similarities in any child abduction case at many points I'm sure, just the MM one is so high profile it seems obvious to those who follow it obsessively.

Not sure why folks keep commenting on it, TBH we're discussing the programme not a real life event.

Blondes you certainly do have to pay attention it is quite intense & I'm not sure I am keeping up with all the plot hints.

I missed the first 5 minutes, do we know why was the copper in jail? Did someone grass him up for sharing the files with the creepy journo?

Did / do interview rooms in France REALLY not have one way glass just a goldfish bowl from the main office???

rootypig · 12/11/2014 07:41

Presumably copper in jail for whatever the creepy journo was holding over his head

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 12/11/2014 08:18

We don't know why copper is in prison yet.

I love the flash backs and jumps in time,I think it would be far less intense if they hadn't filmed it that way.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 12/11/2014 08:22

Funnily enough while I was traumatised by the ending and said to Dh I wasn't sure I could have watched the video he said that it would give him hope that he was still alive.

rootypig · 12/11/2014 08:23

Anyone else really struggling to watch the wife? I dislike criticising women on the basis of their looks and yet - what on earth has she done to her face? The contrast with the craggy, expressive Nesbitt is marked and I wish to god that women would be allowed to age in the same way.

Sorry, bit of a rant.

FallonColby · 12/11/2014 08:29

rootypig I think it is done to show that Emily has tried to move on with her life while it has consumed Tony. Dame I think the copper has gone to jail for either tampering with evidence or intimidating a suspect/witness in the Charmentaimes (sp?) case that the journalist keeps referring to.

ProfYaffle · 12/11/2014 08:30

MissMarple did you watch The Spiral? They had the same kind of interview rooms there, plus they also tried to question the suspect intensely before their legal representation arrived, same as last night.

R4roger · 12/11/2014 08:30

have to explain to DH whether it is present day or in the past but at one point I think the french detective forgot to have a beard in the present Grin so that was confusing. or a trick of the light.

they need to go to Thailand may be?

Actually I thought the police under cover may well be killed and it was perhaps a trap by whoever he was under cover with, to catch him grassing to the police. There was a cctv in the warehouse

rootypig · 12/11/2014 08:33

Fallon I meant the actress, rather than the way they've restyled the character... I've been watching her forehead in both the 2006 and present day scenes and she can barely move it. Confused

rootypig · 12/11/2014 08:34

Good grief I've just read that she's 47 Shock

SolomanDaisy · 12/11/2014 08:36

DS woke up and I missed the last ten minutes! Can anyone give me a summary of what happened at the end?

R4roger · 12/11/2014 08:39

and wife annoying that she came to france to join james nesbitt but only to have a go at him for chasing false hope

R4roger · 12/11/2014 08:40

the neighbours of the house where the boys drawing was found made a video the night in question and the boy is seen at the window, then a hand is put over his mouth and he is dragged away from the window. solomon

SolomanDaisy · 12/11/2014 08:50

Thanks r4roger. That sounds wildly implausible, but I'm sure it would have seemed more likely if I'd watched it, it's very engaging.

R4roger · 12/11/2014 08:51

it does doesnt it, when i was explaining the scarf scenario to dd it did seem implausible Hmm

R4roger · 12/11/2014 08:51

and tbh i dont blame you for falling asleep, it was soporific boring

R4roger · 12/11/2014 08:51

oops, you didnt fall asleep, you ds woke up, still, it was pretty soporific!

lalsy · 12/11/2014 08:54

Hello, may I join - I am a bit baffled....

R4Roger, I thought he forgot to take his beard off, in the 2006 scene where he rushes in to get all the police to stake out the warehouse place!

FallonColby · 12/11/2014 09:12

Sorry rootypig, yes you're right she has gone a bit too Amanda Holden. I felt so sorry for Tony though, his face totally came alive when he saw her again and she was just so dismissive to him.

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/11/2014 09:34

I agree seeing his son in the video means he was there. He was alive and there will be a trail and more investigations

UncleSue · 12/11/2014 10:20

It's slow and depressing, I don't know if I can be bothered, but, like others have said want to know the outcome now I have come this far, it didn't move on much at all last night, they are really drawing it out.

Bedsheets4knickers · 12/11/2014 11:30

How many parts are their??

returnvisit · 12/11/2014 11:40

Theres 8 i think. I need to carry on watching to see what happens although agree that its very drawn out.

OpiesOldLady · 12/11/2014 11:41

Eight, I think.

Could the policeman in jail actually be there under cover?

EmilyGilmore · 12/11/2014 12:29

I'm a bit bored by it now. Think 4/6 parts would have worked better.
