Corrie thread - still no sign of Cilla or Fat Brenda but Kim Tate on the horizon

Here we are again - a brand new thread for more Corrie ramblings.

Can't believe Cilla still hadn't turned up by the end of the last thread.

Still hoping for an enormous cast-cull. Hoping for a bomb / gas explosion / serial killer / all of the previous.

Yes, Lily seems to have been completely forgotten. She's had her 1st birthday, so she would have loved the Christmas lights; poor neglected little soul!!

I'd forgotten all about Lily - I wondered who you were all on about!

Do you know who I'm beginning to really dislike (apart from all of Kals lot) Steph, what is her problem, she was quite nasty to Maria and then insisting that Luke went back to her ever expanding flat, anyone would have coped on he wanted to go back to Marias flat

I wonder when Michael is going to find out that Gavin is not Gavin, I suppose it will be xmas day

Yes I wondered why she was sabotaging their date too.

I totally get why Aliyas family don't want her with Gary. Not because he's non Muslim, but because he's been in prison, he once kept Izzy hostage in their flat and took her wheelchair, he also tried to cheat on her twice he's well known for flying off the handle in violent rages, and he constantly goes on about how he was in the army for all of 5 minutes. Not even mentioning the fact that he's butt ugly.

Gary should just be killed off, a pile of bricks should just fall onto his head or something. Take the rest of the family and Yasmeen with him please.

I agree completely with everything you've both just said about Steph and Gary.

The plots are useless at the minute.

Not to mention the fact that he's content to just do casual labouring for anyone who'll fling him a tenner, tried to brain that dodgy developer with a plank of wood, has a step-father / former FIL who has got a track record for unpredictable and sometimes very underhand behaviour, a family who are all willing him to get back with his ex who he has a young child with.

I had to skip it for a bit but then heard about the Sally sofa storyline and that was absolutely fab

Totally agree re Gary. He is as dull as ditchwater...in addition to all the attributes outlined above .

Steph would be no loss either. Maybe they could run away together...

Kevin is going on an on-line dating site and meets Jennie Bradley (Rita's step-daughter, I think).

I read that today too. Looks like Diane won't be coming back then.

I remember reading about Jenny Bradley coming back, unexciting character IMO.

Gary is the most unattractive male in Corrie. He has no redeeming features at all. It's not just because he's not physically attractive; he isn't interesting in any way. Even Norris has more attributes.

Wouldn't Kev remember Jenny Bradley? I would have thought their characters overlapped in time.

Yes, they would know one another and she was back in it, I believe, after her original stint, she came back looking for money from Rita or something. Maybe they will be using fake names and he will send a photo of ...er ...Garreh...

The last thing they need IMO is another boring character, I don't know why they are bringing her back.

The online dating thing reminded me of the time Jack unsuspectingly arranged to meet Vera. .

jill Jack as Vince St Clair is one of my fave storylines ever.

Apparently the story will go that Jenny always had a bit of a thing for Kevin but she was going out with Martin who was one of his best mates. I don't know how Rita will react to Jenny.

I think I must go against the grain but I actually really like Steph. I think she has good comedy timing and brings northern 'say it as it is' to the Bistro. I loved her scenes with Steve recently and to be honest, if my brother was going out with wet as a Wigan weekend Maria with her string if relationship disasters, I would be after splitting them up.

More controversially I quite like Gary but I wish they would have left him with Izzy so we could have seen how he matured. When the Windasses were brought in they were a really rough family but that seems to have been largely forgotten now.

To be honest I am even prepared to give YASMEEN and Co a go. I don't think they should move onto the Street though. As if they would! Then we could have had a new family.

More sofa type stories though please. I want to see Sally drag Tim round DFS looking for their Manhattan range. I remember Anna got her red sofa by some nefarious means too. Maybe she could teach Sally.

It was brilliant. Jack and Vera were so funny.

If I remember correctly Luke and (the dear departed) Tina were involved in winding up Steph at one stage, by pretending to be together.
So, maybe she doesn't want him to have any girlfriend.

I used to think she was an okay character, but sometimes the lines she has, are silly, e.g the night she was serving Michael, Gavin and Gail in the bistro, when Gavin first turned up, she was like an annoying wasp or something buzzing around, I thought.

yes Vince St Clair is Corrie at it's best.

I think it was Luke and Katy pretending to be together to wind up Steph. I akso actually quite like Steph and at one point thought she and Nick may get together. Surely it is time for Nick to have a new love interest!

Or is Nick's new love interest Kim Tate??

I saw a cover of a magazine had Nick and Kim Tate together, so that's a possibility, brunette.
