Here we are again - a brand new thread for more Corrie ramblings.

Can't believe Cilla still hadn't turned up by the end of the last thread.

Still hoping for an enormous cast-cull. Hoping for a bomb / gas explosion / serial killer / all of the previous.

Me too, by quite a long way. Having said that, I used to know someone in RL who was just like her, she seemed way older than her real age too.

Just goes to show what a difference clothes and hair style can make.

Just because I can't be bothered getting out of bed, I've just checked the actress who plays Marys love rival Julie is also 40. The actor who plays Dev is 49 and was born in Paris to an Indian dad and Italian mum.
I really need toget out of bed, don't I ?

Very true Sparkling, I nearly fell over when I found out on here, that Mrs.T was also bubbly youthful Miss.Smiley.

Lorna Laidlaw (Mrs T) is 51 in RL, she looks fantastic doesn't she?

Yes they've Hayleyfied Mary to a certain extent giving her frumpy anoraks to wear etc. She has lovely skin and a pretty face IMO. It is the clothes.

I think she is deliberately 'frumpily' done for the part.

As we suspected, Gavin is not Michael's son.

I thought she looked pretty the other week when she had had her hair done. There are plenty of Marys around in real life and, when I was younger, it wasn't unusual for women in their 40s to dress more like their mums than their daughters.

True hildasmuriel. She also hangs around with the older people on the Street, which probably contributes to her being perceived as older than she is.

Julie dresses like someone older too, imagine her in jeans! When you see her sitting in the Rover's, it's impossible to imagine she once had a fling with Jason!

About ten years ago Julie was in a gritty police show, she was a wild copper who was necking Es and shagging all sorts.

Julie's clothes are very 1950s. I like Julie and Dev together. I hope they don't split up.

Didn't Julie originally go out with Kirk? She has quite an eclectic taste in men!

Yes. I think Kirk met her on holiday, but how she arrived in Coronation Street I can't remember.

Did anyone else think the big deal made about the cufflinks was a bit much? They all acted like they were the crown jewels or something and they'd never seen such splendour

Am also bored with Michael, and Gails simpering when she is in a scene with him.

Michael is a complete bore.
Can't imagine the whining when he discovers Gavin is not his son... I should feel sorry for him, but I don't.

Yes it's here she never knew her father was also Jason's grandfather.
