How was that Roger not charged?

Report
Panthingies · 01/10/2014 23:03

Trouble is though..the punishment of the public is random and has no consequence for the people involved. It's mob rule.

I knew that last man would get away with it as he kept saying he thought the girl was 18Angry

Paedophiles should be killed.

Fuck their families and wives????? Seriously.....you don't care that they are innocent in all this and faced with publicity.

This man is not doing anything except making a TV programme. If he was truly in it for altruistic reasons he would just hand everything over to the police without parading it all on TV.

Indelikate..... If you can watch this without feeling disgusted and angry then there is something wrong with you

What indeli, yes it's great when a nasty paedophile is caught, one less abusing children.

Report
susiedaisy · 01/10/2014 23:06

Inde. What are you going on about??

Report
Panthingies · 01/10/2014 23:06

Gavlarr - I disagree.

They are the scum of the earth, that is true, but what if they have young children? Isn't giving the evidence to the police enough without putting their families at risk? Stimpson Hunter doesn't harm the pedophiles, but there may be other vigilantes out there who aren't quite so light handed, and I think it could put the potentially young and frightened families at risk if their father/step dad/grandfather is publically exposed in this way.

murasaki · 01/10/2014 23:06

What Panthingies said, it could result in witch hunting of the local oddbod (think the bristol murder and the landlord with blue hair). although this all seems to have traceable evidence, so yes, lock them up.

but why is he doing it not the police? if it's that easy, he can't be more techy than the resources they have available. do they not care?

Stinson says that now he has gained the publicity he needed he will no longer have to post on Facebook as the police now take him seriously. But even when you see their sentences there suspended or not even charged !

Report
Aeroflotgirl · 01/10/2014 23:07

That's your choice, I don't think you would say that if you had been abused.

Report
murasaki · 01/10/2014 23:08

only one was jalied, it looked like. Very odd. does it have to be an actual child be actually abused for a jail sentence? the intention was there in all those cases, so surely that should be enough

Report
hmc · 01/10/2014 23:09

I have no problem with his investigative work but agree with others that his evidence should be passed to the police rather than exposed on facebook - my concern is not for the paedophile but for his family who really don't need or deserve that kind of adverse attention

Report
Gavlarrr · 01/10/2014 23:09

Aeroflotgirl.... Here here. Peadophiles should think of their families before they so this disgusting stuff then, not us. They are the sick ones and shouldn't be protected

Report
Selinemaratima · 01/10/2014 23:09

IMO the law can only apply to a crime, I think child abuse/paedophilia is some form of human defect, way beyond a crime; thus the punishments given are not appropriate; as the determination of the act is wrong :- death should be the only punishment, If only to scare others from perpetrating it in the future.

Report
Aeroflotgirl · 01/10/2014 23:10

I do agree flip flop, there could be innocent chikdren and people within the paedophiles family. evidence should just be handed in to the police.

Report
Panthingies · 01/10/2014 23:10

Lots of people who have been abused do not take the vigilante/string them up approach. Or indulge in any mass hysteria. They just want to get on with their lives as best they can. A 'universal' victim appeal is pretty poor.

At least 3 were jailed, it said on the update at the end. One got 3 years, a couple got 12 months.

Seline = the death penalty does not work as a deterrent, look at the USA.

HMC, I see your point, the poor mother whose dad committed suicide after it, I felt for her. and the child, not for him, but if it hadn't been facebooked, what would have happened. we don't know. the family didn't ask for it.
