Why is Biggins only doing trifle, he can do much better than that, I'm very surprised

squoosh · 11/07/2014 21:54

Biggins was stitched up!

Justice for the Panto One.

Ohwhatfuckeryisthis · 11/07/2014 21:55

Representing my dm it would be roast (over cooked)and very flat yorkshires. But to follow the scrummist sticky flapjack and fluffy sponge. And orange jelly with tinned mandarins in it.

squoosh · 11/07/2014 21:57

Representing my mum would be her 1980's curry with lots of sultanas and chopped banana all over it as apparently 'it's very cooling'.

TheSpottedZebra · 11/07/2014 21:57

Oh, Biggins!

I like to believe that he has a well paying job lined up, so phoned in his trifle knowing he'd be out.

EatingMyWords · 11/07/2014 21:58

Funny you should say that, I had the distinct impression Biggins didn't want to go through!

TheSpottedZebra · 11/07/2014 21:58

Ah, the cooling banana.
Did you know that they don't put ice in their drinks in Costa Rica, they just use a slice of banana?

CornChips · 11/07/2014 21:58

My DM would be 'I had a big lunch, so you can't be hungry. Have an apple'.

except for the vol au vents though. :)

Ellenora5 · 11/07/2014 21:59

Thanks squoosh, she is a pet, Henry VIII, he would love that Grin he's very much of the school that it's not dinner unless it has well done meat and potatos, he nearly fainted one day when I made lasagne and dropped it in to him when my mum was away, he rang me and said "well that was different, sure if you have any more I will take it off your hands" he's 75 Grin

They are married 51 years now, and still mad about each other Smile

squoosh · 11/07/2014 22:00

I hope Biggins had an urgent call from Joanie telling him to get his jolly ass over to St Tropez.

Halsall · 11/07/2014 22:01

I love the sound of your mum & dad, Ellenora,

coffeeinbed · 11/07/2014 22:01

Mine does a fantastic spatchcocked chicken with rice and potatoes.
And an upside down apricot cake.

She also taught me to roll up a swiss roll in seconds.I was in a cookery school demonstration once and the teacher's roll would not detach from the paper. She panicked, I got it without a second thought, just how my mother always did.

squoosh · 11/07/2014 22:03

Well done Elenora's dad adjusting quickly to that new fangled lasagne! Grin

Ellenora5 · 11/07/2014 22:26

Thanks Halsall, they are great, I know squoosh I'm raging I didn't give him the garlic bread aswell, although that might have been a bit too much for him Smile

I think there was something behind Biggins doing that trifle, he is much better than that, he could have been a winner so it's very strange, and for Wayne to never have cooked paella before ( I don't believe for one minute that Jose hadn't thought him that) he did a bloody good job

I want Sophie or Charley to win

Good for you coffe, was she giving you daggers afterwards Grin

See you all next week

coffeeinbed · 11/07/2014 22:29

No, she was very grateful and lovely about it.

I got an extra big piece of swiss roll later! Grin

Icimoi · 12/07/2014 11:47

I increasingly fail to see the point of the earlier sections of rounds given that they only ever seem to make decisions based on the final section. It really is a bit of a crime Wayne going through when he effectively sabotaged the relay and couldn't get his three items out for tea despite going way over time. And I bet the paella was mainly the product of intensive coaching by José.

Jux · 12/07/2014 16:41

It's very like the time Les Dennis went through, isn't it? He was awful at first and then suddenly became quite good, but not in time for anyone to actually like him or want to see him again.

Fiderer · 12/07/2014 16:41

I don't understand why Millie went out when she was as competent as and more ambitious than Biggins.

And the squirly haired man went out when he was more competent than Wayne. OK his pastry wasn't cooked but that was a timing thing rather than a "hasn't got a clue" thing. Wayne choosing potatoes in the relay round despite Gregg hinting about it being Asian food was embarrassing.

I'd like a final with Jodie, Sophie and Charley. Jodie to win and Sophie second. Jodie should have got credit for knowing that in the relay Biggins was the idea, Charley the middle cook and add flair and that she was the best to finish.

GrouchyKiwi · 14/07/2014 17:44

I wonder if Millie was dropped because she would have been brilliant at the Afternoon Tea round.

Surprised Wayne is still in, frankly. Far too many cock ups.

Sophie's my favourite, but I'd be happy for any of Charley, Sophie or Jodie to win.

dementedma · 14/07/2014 22:06

I will miss the jolly Biggins. He makes me smile.
Wayne should be out.
Charlie to win.

Davros · 15/07/2014 08:58

Caught up last night. I agree that Millie was definitely better than a number of the others and that Wayne Sleep should have gone after the previous two rounds. Yes, Biggins didn't seem too bothered did he? I think it's between Cgarley and Jodie.

Tis the final - anyone watching?

Ellenora5 · 17/07/2014 21:06

Yep just logged on and I've ordered a pizza Grin

honeybeeridiculous · 17/07/2014 21:07

Me! Although I thought we would know the winner tonight, but alas it's tomorrow night too and I shall be at work Sad
Do we need a new thread do you think?
