You are not supposed to serve a dollop of sauce on top of a bowl of otherwise dry pasta like our mums did c. 1985.

Mushroom sauce is a poor choice. It's very hard to avoid greige with mushroom sauce.

I bet it's really a vaguely passable veg bolognaise, so they're enthusing wildly.
