YY Dove pie for Ramsay! He reminds me of my old boss... Blush
Those scenes do make me uncomfortable but that's the 'USP' of GoT. They go there....

SlightlyJadedJack · 17/04/2014 09:13

Nunyabiz, you didn't feed your old boss dove pie did you? Wink

I don't think Tyrion did it, he much to clever to put himself in the frame so easily.

Sunnymeg · 17/04/2014 10:08

I reckon the Tyrells did it, possibly Oleanna, as she kept going on about the food and wine she had provided. Margery is now esconsed in the royal family, but didn't have to put up with her mad, bad new husband, so job done as far as they are concerned.. I wonder who the heir is? Didn't Joffrey have younger siblings who we never see. If not Stannis is the heir, that will be fun - not!;

worriedsick100 · 17/04/2014 10:37

younger brother who is also blonde who was sitting at the high table.
What is "USP"?

TulipOHare · 17/04/2014 10:40

Yes younger bro is called Tommen.

USP = unique selling point (I think!)

I don't think it was the Tyrells. What would they gain? She won't be queen and she can't be pregnant (I don't think so anyway!) so surely they don't have as much of a motive?

I think it was Tywin. I think he hired someone to do it and is going to blame Sansa and Tyrion. Ser Dontos knew (maybe he was the one who was hired?) and helps Sansa escape because he knows she is going to get the blame and wants to help.
By killing Joffrey, Tywin gets Tyrion in prison/dead, Sansa out of the way (one more Stark gone), Cersei subdued in case he does it again, and a young and presumably easy to control Tommen on the throne.

That's my theory.
Sorry didn't realise how long that was!

IdaBlankenship · 17/04/2014 12:54

Wasn't it the jester? He was telling Sansa to scarper and he definitely had the motive (although most of Westeros has a motive to be fair).
It was interesting how most of the guests just sat and watched Joffrey die without leaping to help him. Diana Rigg looked most unruffled.
I don't think the Tyrell's would gain much by offing Joffrey until they had an heir.

TulipOHare · 17/04/2014 15:01

What an arsehole Easter Grin

In* gah!

supadupapupascupa · 18/04/2014 10:03

well if it was the pie, the dogs will all be dead by morning. (cersei asked for scraps to go to the dogs not the poor). We rewatched last night and more plates were being handed out so we're now thinking it was the wine. We also noticed that grannie was playing with Sansa's new necklace so i reackon she has made a link between her and the fool (the fool said it was the only thing of value left of his family and is possibly famous enough to be recognised) So if Sansa does indeed disappear, grannie will guess who she is with? and perhaps therefore who killed jeoffrey?

QueenOfThorns · 18/04/2014 10:09

Tywin wouldn't want Sansa out of the way - with Bran and Rickon officially dead, she gives them a claim to the North.

supadupapupascupa · 18/04/2014 10:11

very true

Sunnymeg · 18/04/2014 10:39

The cup of wine that Joffrey drinks from was placed on the table in front of Oleanna immediately before he drinks from it. That's my main reason for thinking she did it. She could have slipped the poison in before Tyrion filled the cup with wine. The wine Joffrey drank was given to other guests as well, so I think the cup must have been tampered with.

ThreeLannistersOneTargaryen · 18/04/2014 14:33

^^ This.

Lilka · 18/04/2014 15:55

It was Olenna Tyrell, I'm sure of it.

Watch her with Sansa again. She fiddles with her hair and necklace, and when she pulls back and we see Sansa from the front again, one of the crystals on Sansa's necklace was missing. I only noticing when watching back again, because I thought it looked like Olenna had taken something when I first watched it. The gem on the very right, over her dress, it's gone.

So the man last episode handed Sansa a necklace with poison on it. Either the gem is a poison in itself, or it was a vial with something inside it. Olenna took it off Sansa, and put it in Joffrey's wine. It must have been the wine, he went down almost immediately after drinking it. Also, pie is far too risky, she would have killed other people by accident

Also in the ads for next week's episode, Olenna is talking to Margaery and it sounds it like she's trying to justify the poisoning to her?

supadupapupascupa · 18/04/2014 16:11

i noticed the last bit too in the trailer...ooh need to watch it back now!!!!!

IdaBlankenship · 18/04/2014 16:29

Good spotting Lilka. Though for what purpose? Surely Maegary cannot rule without Joffrey - wouldn't it pass to Tommen, or would Ser Loras now have a claim to the throne?

worriedsick100 · 18/04/2014 20:54

I so wish I could watch the next 8 episodes now!

gwenig2 · 19/04/2014 22:04

worriedsick100 · 20/04/2014 09:04

welcome to "Game of Thrones Anonymous" - all are welcome.

Nunyabiz · 20/04/2014 09:07

Ida, we have been wondering the same thing... Would she still be ruling? Hmmm she has won a lot of favour from the people lately...

worriedsick100 · 20/04/2014 10:39

I can believe that Olenna would have done it but not Margaery - that would be two husbands gone out of two.

Lilka · 20/04/2014 10:56

I can't decide whether she knew or not, but I suspect not based on the advert for tomorrow's episode

Olenna probably decided that Margaery was better off without Joffrey, because he was such a horrible person
