I cheered too and watched it twice.

Nunyabiz · 15/04/2014 08:30

Was obviously in the pie! (Or on the sword that cut the pie?)

Stripyhoglets · 15/04/2014 08:40

definitely the pie. They show that there are dead doves in the pie when it's cut open. but people will think it's the wine as more obvious.

Lamu · 15/04/2014 10:14

I thought the dead doves were because Geoffrey had struck the pie with his sword?

Anyway I got so excited last night at the death of King Geoffrey that my waters went as he was dying. I literally jumped up, thought I was pissing myself Grin. Meanwhile DH thought I had well and truly lost the plot. Dd2 was born at 3.57am!

Figster · 15/04/2014 10:16

Lamu wow!!! Is dd going to have a GoT name?

Lamu · 15/04/2014 10:32

I wish. I don't think DH would agree to a "mother of dragons" although I do like Arya. Grin

SlightlyJadedJack · 15/04/2014 11:23

Grin at Lamu! You have to get a GoT name in there somehow. Be glad it's not a boy or you may have felt compelled to call him Joffrey!

Nunyabiz · 15/04/2014 11:56

Wow Lamu congratulations!!!! What an awesome story!
I actually thought it was because he brutally struck the pie too... Interesting though.

EhricLovesTheBhrothers · 15/04/2014 12:27

OMG Lamu that's amazing! May the blessings of a thousand suns befall your family this day (or something suitably medieval)

5Foot5 · 15/04/2014 12:51

It could be Tywin Lannister. Maybe he figured that he wouldn't be able to control Mad Joffrey for much longer so if he bumped him off then presumably the younger brother (who they seem to have aged up quite a bit) would get the throne and be consideraly more malleable so he (Tywin) would still be in charge.

ZenGardener · 15/04/2014 14:55

Congratulations Lamu!!

Just watched the second episode. I'm loving it but I'm impatient to see more.

To the people who read the books: Did they change the scene with the dwarves? No pretty pig, right? Was her name Penny? I guess she won't be in it.

McFlurry · 15/04/2014 17:35

Congratulations Lamu! May the blessings of the old gods and the new be bestowed upon your family. Because, between you and me, that god of light geezer is dodgy as fuck.

I'm a tiny bit sad at Joffrey's demise. Partly because no one got the pleasure of sticking a sword in him and partly because Jack Gleeson was such a pleasure to watch.

Nunyabiz · 16/04/2014 10:47

DH thinks that it was Tyrion Hmm but why would he just stand around looking at the cup when Sansa is escaping?
I want to see the next episode nowwwwww

TulipOHare · 16/04/2014 12:16

Did they change the scene with the dwarves? No pretty pig, right? Was her name Penny?

Yes - in the book it was Penny and her brother riding a pig and a dog. Obvs they couldn't use an actual pig and dog in this way in the TV version, but yy, it was changed quite substantially. I suppose they are hedging their bets as Penny's relevance is still largely unknown, and if she is needed later they can bring her or a similar character into the story easily enough.

Loving all the Purple Wedding reactions Grin my DP has not read the books so is watching unspoiled. His response (after we watched the credits in silence):

"Next time they have a fucking wedding on this fucking show, I AM GOING TO BE READY FOR THEM." Easter Grin

I thought it might be Tywin too, but after watching it again I've changed my mind and I think I know who the real culprit was.

Also going to miss Joffrey. I know he was bloody awful, but he was very watchable. Apparently the chap who plays him is giving up acting.

IdaBlankenship · 16/04/2014 18:20

Sorry I know I am late to the party but OMFG about last nights ep. I was watching the whole ep with my heart in my throat given how the last wedding in Westeros went down - I was not expecting it to be him though.

If they kill off Tyrion I am going to seriously unhappy.

IdaBlankenship · 16/04/2014 18:26

Oh and big congratulations Lamu, I think Arya Danaerys Melisandre as a name should do nicely!

AfricanExport · 16/04/2014 18:41

Oh my Zen

You're right. Where was Penny? Hmmmm? Interesting..

worriedsick100 · 16/04/2014 20:26

don't flame me but I was a little disappointed. No Khaleesi and no Arya last night.I thought whole episode was a bit slow.

I ABSOLUTELY HATE RAMSAY SNOW

Chopsypie · 16/04/2014 20:31

Out of all of the violent scenes and other bits in game of thrones, the ones with Ramsey snow are the only ones that make me uncomfortable. He really freaks me out

IdaBlankenship · 16/04/2014 20:35

Last season's torture scenes with Ramsey and Theon were nearly unwatchable, so horrid. Surely the Bolton's will get their comeuppance [hopeful]

SlightlyJadedJack · 16/04/2014 20:45

The hunting scene this week made me feel ill too. Ramsey is a proper bastard! Grin

Chopsypie · 16/04/2014 20:57

I think it's because his violence is fri no reason. Usually people are violent for loyalty or honour etc, but he is violent for fun.

And I only realised that theon is played by Alfie Allen (Lilly allens little bro!). And Oylenna Tyrell is Diana Rigg! The game of thrones IMDB page was a revelation, lots of British talent.

IdaBlankenship · 16/04/2014 21:06

Yy Chopsie, there aren't too many out-and-out psychopaths in GoT. Joffrey's crossbow training with Ros was really nasty too

worriedsick100 · 16/04/2014 21:28

I did not know that about Theon - wow.

Yes that hunting scene was repulsive.

Ramsey needs a good dove pie too!

I just hope Tyrion does not get punished for Joffrey's death. I just know he did not do it - not a spoiler - is my opinion.
