Lyanna was 'kidnapped' by Rhaegar Targaryan which I the event that kicked off Robert Baratheons rebellion. She died in the Tower of Joy. In a room that was guarded by Rhaegars personal guards. The room smelled of Roses and Blood. The cause of death isn't mentioned. Ned Stark was there when she died after killing all (but one?) of the guards.

Oooh! Really.

Ok. My other question is - possible royal blood in castle black. We have Jon, old blind guy from dragon family. But who is the other????

Facebook recap of the final episode Grin

That facebook recap is really quite amusing!

IvyBeagle · 19/06/2014 12:53

Stannis is the third isnt he?

My theory is that Tywin destroyed the Targaryons because his wife Joanna had and affair with one of them and Tyrion (hooray!) can fly dragons! Bit random but I like it and am keeping my fingers crossed.

QueenOfThorns · 19/06/2014 13:03

No, not Stannis (but if you did count him, you'd have to include his daughter as well). There is also Mance, the 'King Beyond the Wall'.

Also, the carrying off of Lyanna by Rhaegar didn't really trigger the rebellion, or not directly at any rate. See here.

AnnaLegovah · 19/06/2014 14:07

So why did Rhaegar carry off Lyanna? Because she was betrothed to Robert?

I'm starting to head into possible spoiler territory so think I will back off and reread book one. Grin

BelleOfTheBorstal · 19/06/2014 14:25

Because he luvvved her and he was a prince and could therefore do as he liked.

MikeLitoris · 19/06/2014 14:51

Well did he really kidnap her is big question imo. There just isn't enough info to know for sure. I think she went willingly. He gave her the crown of beauty/blue rose crown thingy and its said in the book about head strong she is.

I would love to see a spin off with Rhaegar, Elia and Lyanna.

I've read the theory about Tyrion being a targaryan. There is a bit in the first book about him being obsessed with the dragons. Don't think that was mentioned in the show though was it?

hildasmuriel · 19/06/2014 16:18

Love the Tyrion Targaryan theory.

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 19/06/2014 16:28

OMG. JUST OMG. Shut the front door!

Could this be why Tywin said he was a monster? Monster = dragon = Targaryan??!

TheFirstOfHerName · 19/06/2014 17:28

I'm waiting with slightly bated breath for the plotline that will make us look back at Tyrion and Jaime's (long) conversation about killing beetles and see it as foreshadowing.

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 19/06/2014 18:01

I thought the crushing of beetles was foreshadowing the (sorry!) squishing of Oberyn?

TheFirstOfHerName · 19/06/2014 21:00

It might have been, but seemed like a very long dialogue just for one head squishing. It seemed to be about the concept that some people hurt things just because they can.

IvyBeagle · 20/06/2014 17:13

Glad you like my theory :) I haven't read the books so am missing clues galore! I think its unlikely but I like Tyrion so much I hope for it to be true. Also I think if we need three Targyrians for the three dragons it would be great if the 'heroes' were not all well built males in their mid twenties, Dany and Tyrion don't fit that ideal at all.
