The departure from the books in this series has been much more marked than previously, as well as getting further into later books there have been some events that haven't even been revealed in any of the books, the children are aging faster so this is reflected in the story and the TV series is almost spoilery for the books!

Jon Snow's parentage is not known by book readers but lots of speculation based upon hints dropped throughout.

I find it really hard not to reveal things to non bookreaders!

That's a bit of a mouthful!

new name the bit with the whitewalkers and the baby was new to bookreaders, it was never revealed what happened to Craster's babies (although I think lots suspected)

Also Sansa going all grown up hasn't happened to the extent that it has in the series.

There have been other bits that just didn't happen such as Yara coming to rescue Theon, in fact Theon isn't seen for ages so much of his torturing is told retrospectively.

There are a few characters left out or merged or changed but I think that is to keep numbers in the programme manageable.

The biggest one though was the Whitewalker baby thing. I was amazed when that was shown.

The Children: Wow! Amazing episode!

Two questions:

1. Why did Melisandre give Jon Snow such a weird look? Is she his mother?

2. The music for the closing credits: theme tune in a choral arrangement with words! Where can I get it?

I assumed he was being sent to braavos. Maybe Dorne if that is to be featured in season 5?

I'm glad she left the hound with no mercy. Although I wouldn't put money on him actually dying. Why is Cersei so determined to have the mountain alive?

So many questions! How did Stannis get passed the wall? Why is he there? (building an army I assume?)

I think Mellisandre sees that Jon Snow is not your average bastard.

I think Melisandre has "plans" for Jon snurr. Hate her and her fucking religion more than stannis. Hope Dany roasts her with a dragon.

Jaime told Tyrion he was going to the free cities and Dorne isnt part of that.

Never saw Brienne as a Mike Tyson.

Melisandre must know who Jon Snow 'really' is. Dont trust her for a second but will Jon be smart enough? Arya had the measure of her alright.

Am I the only one a bit bored by Dany's storyline?
