Ida that's why I asked. I think fight between the mountain and the hound would be brilliant. So long as the hound wins of course.

The Hound is awesome, and it would be a nice bit of karma for him to kill the Mountain. I'm a bit worried about the Hound's festering wound on his neck though - I don't want him dying with a whimper.

Ah. you see, I want Arya to kill him - he's on her list.

The Mountain and the Hound already had a fight in series 1 at the Hand's tourney - when the Mountain cut his horse's head off. If I remember correctly the Hound was the better fighter. I'm also worried about the Hound's neck wound - he and Arya are so awesome together.

As for Arya's list, well if she doesn't get a move on there's going to nobody left on it for her to kill.

I hope someone does for Meryn Trant. Guy's a cunt.

Perhaps the Hound will take the Mountain down and offer Arya the killer blow?
Which one is Meryn Trant?

Meryn Trant is in the kingsguard - he was the one who hit Sansa and tore her clothes, terrorised her on Joffrey's orders, witnessed against Tyrion at his trial and had the fight with Syrio Forel (sob). He's a meany.

Oh yes, that charmer. He's on Arya's list isn't he?

Will Oberyn's family now come and seek some form of retribution? Surely they won't take his head being squished lightly.

Who's on her list who's still alive??

The Hound?

I am sure Syrio is still alive. He wasn't shown dying on the show and it isn't really talked about so far in the book. I just don't see why it wouldnt be shown. There hasn't been any other off screen deaths have there?

From the show list, Cersei Tywin and Mel are still alive as of last night's episode. I don't think Merryn Trant is on the show list (he is on the book list).

Dead doesn't mean dead in either the show or the books, so Syrio - who we haven't seen deaded in either medium - is definitely potentially still in play. Potentially.

Mike there are other off-narrative presumed deaths in the books. On screen, off the top of my head, I can only think of Benjen.

Ah sorry I might be getting confused with book list...I thought Beric and Thoros were on the show list not the book list though.

Maybe they are. They aren't on the book list I don't think. It's been a while since she said the telly list (by a while I mean longer ago than last night!) I'm so much more familiar with the books, having read them so many times over the years, that some of the show differences pass me by - I expect to see/hear what I know to be true and if it doesn't match up then my mind...course corrects. Because The Books Are Better.

Nor do I. I don't think he is dead OR 'dead'. But even the actually dead don't need to stay that way, so it doesn't matter whether he's alive, dead or 'dead'. He's still in play.

watched it back again and looks like the mountain is lying dead at the end too [prays] in that case its a draw and the gods are undecided re tyrions fate?

There has been only one person who I thought was definitely dead who turned out not to be - and with that in mind (because it was more persuasive than some of the other yet to be resolved 'deaths' ) I no longer believe anything I read. Apart from Cotter Pyke's letter. I can well believe that is an accurate summation of the situation (when he wrote it - obviously by the time it's read things must have moved on).

Oberyn stopped breathing first. Such a shame - he just couldn't let the Elia thing go. If he could have lived with victory and forgone confession he'd've been fine.

He was only doing it for justice though wasnt he? So the win was meaningless without the confession

I think it's a real shame actually that we got so little Oberyn. Thought the actor did a fantastic job.

Did anyone else think there were shades of Inigo Montoya in there?

GRRM does put little pop culture references in, doesn't he, so it's possibly intentional - ?
