Welcome to the Mill. Here you are able to do impossible things.

  • have a mystery that needs solving? No problem. Heston and Mrs T will unrrrrrrrrravel it within 26 minutes.
  • bothered by continuity? A click of my fingers will stop you worrying about the minor issues such as where has Jimmi's OCD gone and what happened to Kevin's tattoo.

Anne there was an Austen exhibition in Birmingham but at the end of August.

HoleyCow · 08/10/2013 16:04

Sorry - very late to the party and only see it very occasionally as I am usually at work. Did get drawn into the Zara and husband (don't know his name) and social services saga but then, next time I saw it the problem had obviously been resolved. What happened and how was it sorted out. Thanks

Raahh · 08/10/2013 17:29

Damn. Had to miss today.

Fleur is back??? Nooo!!!!

OK- Raahh is having a moan ALERT (feel free to ignore).

very fed up ds's school. Today he has hurt his wrist playing basketball. At lunchtime. It's very swollen(he's so skinny, it's obvious) i picked his sister up at 3.15, he was supposed to be in an athletics club. I went back at 4.15 to get him, obviously he hadn't done athletics(was hammer throw dayGrin - no one had the sense to call me to let me know he wasn't doing the club, so I didn't have to traipse to school twice. Including my own mother who is doing the after school care club this week.

His wrist is clearly swollen, it's his writing hand, and he goes to China in 4 weeks- no-one thought it would be a good idea to get it checked out? it is hopefully just a sprain but I've a plate in my wrist from a botched break, so it makes me a bit cautious.

This is the school that rings me to take in calpol when he has a headache, ffs.

Luckily, we live 5 minutes from A and E, and dh was home early. Really didn't fancy taking all 3 at this time.

And breatheGrin

Raahh · 08/10/2013 17:33

I am now going to try to watch Doctors, and hope dd2 doesn't notice. Grin

Raahh · 08/10/2013 17:35

Raahh · 08/10/2013 17:40

Raahh · 08/10/2013 17:42

Raahh · 08/10/2013 17:43

The blonde woman is a loon.

Raahh · 08/10/2013 17:44

Is this lecturing about food habits week?

Raahh · 08/10/2013 17:49

Mrs T and Zara- Austenites together! Aww, lovelyGrin

curlyclaz13 · 08/10/2013 17:51

Raahh hope it is just a sprain and your ds is ok soon, China ? is that a school trip ? we went to Wales and Scarborough Grin

Raahh · 08/10/2013 17:55

Yup- a school trip. Though all of us with kids going are now getting cold feetGrin. It's an international schools thing with a school in Nanjing. He's very excited. The original date was this Friday- good job it was put back. I'm so not organised. Grin

Raahh · 08/10/2013 17:56

Just realised, it's lucky Jizz was inher pj's and not prancing around in her undies like when she was stalked.

Raahh · 08/10/2013 18:01

Bit worried Dhhasn't texted me at all- he usually has his phone stuck to his hand. I do hope ds is ok. Sad

Raahh · 08/10/2013 18:05

Aww, the episode was called Floss. I wanted to call DD2 Florence (after my granny), nn Flossie. Dh said it sounded like a sheepdog. Then the Camerons used it- which normally wouldn't have changed my mind anyway- and I felt i dodged a bulletGrin.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 08/10/2013 18:07

Hope DS is ok, Raahh. I'd be fuming with your mum if I were you! What did A&E say?

Holey - Zara and Daniel were cleared because all the doctors got together and researched possible causes and it turns out baby Joe has a non-serious condition which causes bruises, which is rare in small children.

Curly - oh that's a shame! Zara said it was on in Birmingham soon. (I do know it isn't real, honest!)

AnneEyhtMeyer · 08/10/2013 18:10

Flossie is a sheep name, so you had a lucky escape there, Raahh.

Oh, hope your DH is just too busy to text and nothing is seriously wrong. Fingers crossed!

Raahh · 08/10/2013 18:11

anne- I am really, as she would be very quick to criticise if she thought he'd hurt himself, and I decided it was nothing. She has Perfect Only Grandson syndrome.

Still no news, which is strange, but I know the signal is rubbish there.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 08/10/2013 18:22

Oh my parents have Perfect Only Grandchild Syndrome too. I don't remember them being so concerned with my welfare when I was a child! Hmm

It must be the signal, they are usually awful in hospitals.

Do let us know when you hear anything.

Raahh · 08/10/2013 18:28

Will do- I'm surprised at dh really. I'm going with 'no news is good news'Grin

Youwhowho · 08/10/2013 18:29

Don't know about celebs at Radio 1 but DS is currently doing an unpaid internship at Warp Records (we pay) and he did mention someone I'd never heard of who apparently popped in the other day. Will try and find out who it was.

OohDoctorDarcy · 08/10/2013 18:51

Raah dd3 was going to be Florence (but Florrie) and had a last min change cos of David Cameron!

OohDoctorDarcy · 08/10/2013 18:52

Oh & hope ds is ok. How old is he? Not heard of China except 6th formers before.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 08/10/2013 18:59

Hope he is OK Raahh - my DS broke his wrist this summer if you remember, he was in a great deal of pain, we really didn't need an x-ray to tell us it was broken, hope your DS's turns out to be just a sprain. Is that the China trip that they announced and then put the price up by a massive amount? Or am I remembering wrong.

Raahh · 08/10/2013 19:08

Who- yes, that's the trip, then they were able to get a lot of sponsorship, so it hasn't been as bad as we thought. The teachers did a reccy trip in May, with a group of children from a different school in East Manchester- it went very well, but I do think they are a bit young. Ds is counting the days though. Grin

Dh has rung- it was very swollen, but thankfully just a soft tissue injury. I know when I broke mine it was horrendous- but I would have felt worse if we'd left it and done nothing.

Phew!!
