This is a thread for all fans of the daytime soap 'Doctors', BBC1, 1.45pm.

Welcome to regulars, lurkers and newbies. Please join in, more the merrier Smile

Look into my eyes, not around the eyes, don't look around the eyes, look into the eyes , you're under.

Welcome to the Mill. Here you are able to do impossible things.

  • want a home visit? No problem. A doctor will be at your home/place of work/random field/hospital bed in seconds.
  • have a mystery that needs solving? No problem. Heston and Mrs T will unrrrrrrrrravel it within 26 minutes.
  • bothered by continuity? A click of my fingers will stop you worrying about the minor issues such as where has Jimmi's OCD gone and what happened to Kevin's tattoo.

...3, 2, 1, you're back in the room. Please sign in at Reception.

As we've reached 700 posts in 10 days, if anything we need to ration ourselves Grin

AnneEyhtMeyer · 06/10/2013 12:45

Yes, at this rate Austen week will be thread after next!

MsNobodyAgain · 06/10/2013 13:44

Bloody hell Shock

We can't need a new thread next week surely? I made notes for my next thread opener based on it being Halloween week. I'll have to rethink. Aaaaargh!

In the meantime, as you were. Still 300 posts left on this one. Smile

OP posts:
HoggyTruffle · 06/10/2013 14:43

I know we are in an economic crisis but please don't ration the posts. Sad

One post a day with a concise summary would not be in the spirit of WTFness. Grin

Doctors requires instant reaction with no analysis (because it does not actually make sense, ever).

Grin

I love that you have already planned notes for the next thread, MsN Grin

not that I don't do that for the X Factor threads or anythingBlush

I'm in panic mode. My car is going in for it's MOT tomorrow. I can't cope with garages, so we save up to pay a mobile mechanic extra to take it and do it without me having to deal with it. Over the past 7 years, the most it has needed has been a brake light. I have a very uneasy feeling about tomorrow, and fear it will end up costing money we don't haveSad.

But on the plus side, we have sold dd2's old cotbed and even though we gave it away almost, at least I know it will get used. The one we had before it had been my niece's before my older 2 used it- and the my mum's neighbour had it. We'd have kept it , if we'd known- but dd1 was meant to be the last!Grin

I am rambling today. I am tired and pre-menstrual. I am thinking murderous thoughtsGrin

AnneEyhtMeyer · 06/10/2013 17:37

There is no way on Earth that this thread will last until Hallowe'en, MsN! I think it will be finished by Tuesday - Wednesday at the latest.

Good luck with the MOT, Raahh. Having had to spend nearly £1000 on repairs this year I feel your fear!

I am pre-menstrual too. However I seem to always think murderous thoughts, nowadays, just a few more when pre-menstrual.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 06/10/2013 18:17

Perhaps we could just have a new thread every Monday to aid with planning .

Good luck with the MOT Raahh.

OohDoctorDarcy · 06/10/2013 18:26

Certainly a new thread for Austen week.
Any more name changers? MsN you could change for the duration of the next thread just to keep the consistency of thread starter?

OohDoctorDarcy · 06/10/2013 18:27

raah we are on last baby clear out too. As ds grows out of things I'm selling/charity shop/chucking every thing :(

Raahh · 06/10/2013 18:36

Ood - it is really sadSad

I mean, I'm nearly 42. DD2 is 3. 3 kids is more than enough for me reallyGrin but it suddenly feels very final (actually, final was being sterilisedGrin).

I've come a long way from the single 30 year old who never wanted kids at allGrinGrin

OohDoctorDarcy · 06/10/2013 19:33

I'm sterilised too. Do you get people whispering it to you?
I'm 34 & 4 kids, last one left me unable to walk properly so no chance of risking another particularly as 3 were conceived on the pill

MsNobodyAgain · 06/10/2013 19:33

I am sticking with my current name. It's comfy Smile

A new thread every Monday...nooooo! I like to see a complete 900 and odd posts of our ramblings.

I have just rescued a distraught DD from the shower. She had cut her thumb on my razor. Totally denies she was trying to shave her legs but the light brown fuzzy hairs left in the shower tell a different story. Bless her. Grin

toldmywrath · 06/10/2013 19:40

Ooh I listen to the Archers omnibus every Sunday & one of the themes this week was Linda trying to arrange a Jane Austen themed Xmas play/readings-but she was outvoted & now they are going to do Robin Hood panto instead. Grin
How did you know at 30 that you didn't want children Raahh? (obviously you met the right bloke & changed your mind)

toldmywrath · 06/10/2013 19:43

On another note, I googled Jane Austen & my thread name (toldmywrath) & the only thing to come up was something about Austen dissing Brummies (in Emma I believe)

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 06/10/2013 20:27

She'll be dissing Brummies from her grave in a couple of weeks, that's for sure!

cinnamongreyhound · 06/10/2013 20:28

This is the fastest filling thread since I've joined!

I have a few baby bits that I keep in case I need it for work but otherwise we sell all bits ds2 no longer fits :(
I so desperately want another baby but dh doesn't want one and we really can't afford another. I'm 32 so there's still time but dh is 47 so I can see why he doesn't want anymore.

Our car has 218,000 miles on it and dh said the mot mechanic really tried to find something to fail it but couldn't! Good luck with yours Raahh!

MsNobodyAgain · 06/10/2013 20:34

It must be a merc or a land rover then???

(I am bad at guessing but thought I'd try cinnamon)

OP posts:
cinnamongreyhound · 06/10/2013 21:21

Picasso!!!

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 06/10/2013 21:23

I'll guess it's a Saab (my dad had one that did over 200k miles).

I've chucked out all the baby stuff long ago (we were very sure we wanted 2 DCs). Keep a few toys and clothes in the loft for nostalgic reasons but all the equipment went a long time ago. I'm 46 now and feel well past the baby stage.

Raahh · 06/10/2013 21:28

ood yy to the whispering- it's like the mother in miranda - ' what I call < whispers> tubal ligation' Grin

The fastest threads I've ever been on were the Olympic opening ceremony ones- must have filled 3 in the space of 4 hours Shock

OohDoctorDarcy · 06/10/2013 21:33

I was on there raah btw saw you on the Cloudy thread, did you get tickets? We didn't but its saved me the cost of a day at the Trafford Centre Grin

Raahh · 06/10/2013 21:36

told- I'd never really liked kids. I even wrote a story, aged 8, about how I didn't like babiesGrin.(at the time, I was having to visit a lot of my mum's friends, who had all just had babies. Didn't see the appealGrin).

My sister was the 'maternal' one (big on labels, my mother). But she has ended up onl ybeing able to have one- and 2 shi-tzu'sGrinAnd then ds was basically a ONS, and the best thing that ever happened to me.I'd never even baby sat, let alone looke after a baby/changed a nappy.Grin bit before that, I'd been pondering the 'point' of my life, if I wasn't going to have children. And then- bamBlush.

No regrets, all three are fab, and I now get the broody thing.

Raahh · 06/10/2013 21:38

Ood- I left the Cloudy thread,as I realised we might not be able to go. Which is sad. Loved thefirst film ( and think spray on shoes is the best idea EVER)

AnneEyhtMeyer · 06/10/2013 21:39

One is definitely enough for me. Thought I wanted more but the idea of pregnancy and nappies again fills me with dread.

OohDoctorDarcy · 06/10/2013 21:43

I didn't want any until pg with dd1. Then dd2 came and divorced xh and didn't feel finished. Wanted 2 more so 1 wasn't spoilt as the much younger sibling. After dd3 I wasn't convinced I should risk another pregnancy but ds beat the pill!
