The New Doctor?

Or just the trailer for the 50th anniversary episode?

Or something else entirely?

Totally sucks! I'm so gutted :(

Tee2072 · 04/08/2013 19:34

I'm exhausted. That was exhausting!

GlaikitFizzog · 04/08/2013 19:34

As long as he has a Scottish accent.

BeckyBrandon · 04/08/2013 19:34

I don't even know who he is... but he looks like a Dr Who... not someone I'd fancy tho.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 04/08/2013 19:34

I think they were wise to go for someone older otherwise it could get a bit repetitive. This way they can write in a different style.

Trigglesx · 04/08/2013 19:34

I'm looking forward to it. I suspect it'll be a bit of a change of pace, but in a good way. I've liked them all, they've each brought something good to the role.

difficultpickle · 04/08/2013 19:34

He's not much younger than Peter Davison so very different dynamic than the three previous doctors.

Talkinpeace · 04/08/2013 19:35

Gobsmacked that people do not know who Peter Capaldi is

Trigglesx · 04/08/2013 19:36

I didn't know the name, but recognised him as soon as I saw him.

KirjavaTheCat · 04/08/2013 19:37

I'm happy it's someone older!

LittleSporksBigSpork · 04/08/2013 19:39

Jokes already flying about him having played a W.H.O. Doctor in World War Z...

Snapespeare · 04/08/2013 19:39

could not actually be happier! off to gallifreybase, but i think it might have melted...

cleopatrasasp · 04/08/2013 19:39

Love Peter Capaldi so I'm really chuffed!

BrianButterfield · 04/08/2013 19:39

I hope this spells an end to assistants going all dreamy-eyed over the Doctor. That's really getting tiresome now.

InLoveWithDavidTennant · 04/08/2013 19:39

im 50/50 on this

they really like to re-use their cast dont they? Grin

Tee2072 · 04/08/2013 19:39

Nice to have a Doctor who is older than me. Can't wait to see how he does the part.

piratecat · 04/08/2013 19:39

I wish i did know him, what's he been in. i am surprised too, that i don't know him. i am 43 and but not a huge tv watcher of late. ( last ten yrs or so)

I like Alan Rickman Smile

Tee2072 · 04/08/2013 19:40

Let it begin!!

zanz1bar · 04/08/2013 19:40

Oh yes, happy, happy, happy

I'm very happy and glad to be proved wrong that Moffet wouldn't give it to someone who's been in it so much before.

It's going to be different, but I think that can be a good thing.

And for once I'm glad I'm an old gimmer because I have absolutely no problems in thinking he's actually quite attractive...

MimsyBorogroves · 04/08/2013 19:42

Hmm. The only shame with it not being a young bloke is that Matt Smith's Dr is a fantastic role model for DS1. It sounds daft, but he has so few outside of DH (no male teachers at his school) that the Dr has been a real influence on him.

I don't know the new guy, but I don't watch much TV anyway.

Lurleene · 04/08/2013 19:44

I can't wait for all the merchandise to be in the shops and seeing DS off to school with his Malcolm Tucker lunchbox and backpack.

Trigglesx · 04/08/2013 19:45

God, yes, it is nice to see that it's someone that those of us in our 40's can look at and not think "i'm old enough to be his mother" Hmm lol
