Goats: must be in process of revenanting cos they would have decomposed and sunk to bottom after death, surely?

What I don't get is why there would be dead animals in the damn anyways? I mean cammiles body wasn't in the damn either was it but she said she woke up in the mountain so it's not as if she climbed out of her grave iyswim?

Just watched the first 3 eps again, and no point do they say Lucy is dead. They do mention looking for th murder suspect though. Confusing.

No mention of Vivvien Costa committing suicide either?

Just an observation but I thought it was really interesting seeing Julie before and after the attack. She has gone from being what appeared to be a strong confident woman to wearing loose baggy dowdy clothes and hiding from the world. Not that I blame her!

NoHank - that's what I said upthread re Julie! The living are no longer really living after death has come to call - and so maybe the undead reckon they could do a better job of it?

Re Lucy - all we know so far is that when she was found she had a slight pulse. So she could have been dead and returned before her body was found or she might have died at the hospital or she could be clinging on to the edge of life... Given her injuries we have assumed option 1, haven't we?

Re Serge - we saw his face when he attacked Lucy, so am sure he's our man. Julie also freaked out when she saw what appeared to be Serge from the bus. Also, Toni obviously knew the identity of the attacker 7 years ago and was shocked his pattern had been repeated. A dead brother - Serge - being the killer would make sense.

With Viviane Costa we're really making assumptions, we just don't know as yet - but there was something about M Costa saying they would not be reunited in death, which means he expects one of them to be in hell - either himself because he killed her, or her because she killed herself (assuming they were strict catholics).

Or option 3, M Costa knew at that point he was going to kill himself so he would be the one going to hell. hmmm.

Quite liking the Victor as dam theory.

Marlin twas me who picked up on the pictures but still can't get my head around the reason why. Are they just another example of how the living are keeping hold of the memories of the dead, again not letting them rest in peace? Are the dead always too much with the living so now their wish is being granted?

btw - thanks, Liz for the response about who is Anne - I thought I had completely missed a character in all the confusion , especially when Adele called her daughter Camille even though her name is Chloe!

It is gripping. and I have to really concentrate- to read the subtitles :)

I have looked on YouTube and can only find episode 4 with I think Spanish subtitles. How did you find all the episodes with English subtitles? Thank you in advance.

IIIIIIIIiiii have a new theory. They are all dead. Some of them know, some of them don't know. Because the town has been flooded and everyone alive was killed at the same time. I like my idea!!!!

maybe the returners were kind of saved and are ones which are alive?

Oooh, I do like this theory! Similar to that Nicole Kidman film with the little boy and the scary housekeeper, hein? That would be the big reveal in Season Two, if so ...

It could be that the revenants with the strongest psychological links to the living came back first. That would even explain Victor (I've read the summary ... )

On another note, I've just discovered I have been to all the locations in RL but didn't realise because I was there to ski, and it all looks different in winter! I hope we get some snow-covered episodes!

By the way, the subtitles are rubbish. I'm French speaking and the language used in French is not reflected properly in English, I mean a lot is lost in translation. You all need to revise your French a levels before the next episode!!!

And going waaaay back to the Malachite butterflyescaping from its cabinet and it being a 'messenger', I reckon shape shifting Victor is the very same messenger (he could have been 'woken up' by Mr Costa). He seems to pop up around the time something bad happens whether he likes it or not (i.e bus crash-cos he closes his eyes and doesn't seem to want it to happen; mrs cat lady; stopping serge/ soothing julie in the hallway).

I presume she did niffer, she seemed very much part of the memeorial meetings.

I wonder how long the returned get to stay? Forever? A few days? Until they have completed a task?
