Aren't the floating animals in the title sequence meant to be from the flooded town?

Haven't read the whole thread, but my theory is that Victor is Julie's older brother, but he was murdered before she was born (possibly by either Mr or Mrs Costa) and his body dumped in the dam.

I also think Thomas ran Simon over, and he has now come back to avenge himself. Or it may just be that Thomas is seriously creepy and Adele will be making a huge mistake if she marries him, and Simon is a kind of warning.

Not sure about the scar on Lena's back, but I think it was caused by her father. In episode 2 she says something about him attacking her again.
