It's a bit soon for me to have an opinion yet, but it looks interesting enough that I'm recording it to watch later with DH...

Ew dead animal being a snack

Really hope this doesn't get more gross each week - not sure my stomach can take it!

teejwood · 23/06/2013 22:50

NoHank - completely agree re Pierre - I said that earlier in the thread.

Interesting that you could read it as Victor killing the neighbour as a copycat of Serge - or because he wanted a snack! Also - the dead animal in the bin being a snack for Camille - that would tie in with the voracious nature of the undead and make it a bit more like a traditional zombie flick...

teejwood · 23/06/2013 22:52

Also - did anyone pick up on the in-joke re the book Adele was holding in the library - "Les animaux disparus"?!

OfficialSweetieMonitor · 23/06/2013 22:53

Yes it looked like cat lady had the same wounds as Lucy.

I don't get the vision Julie had of being attacked in the hall...?

teejwood · 23/06/2013 22:53

BTW - props to those who guessed M Costa was a schoolteacher/head!

teejwood · 23/06/2013 22:56

Oh - re the hall thing. Julie sees Serge and freaks out, non? I do think Victor can be savage but genuinely don't think he has any hostility towards Julie - so wonder if he either a) has appeared to nosey neighbour as Serge and killed her in that way or b) appears to Julie in that form so she can gain closure on her experience and deal with seeing Serge about town?

teejwood · 23/06/2013 22:57

And who do we think killed/ran over Simon?

SunshineBossaNova · 23/06/2013 22:58

YY re Pierre. He is extremely creepy.

And at Victor eating cat lady, but it does tie in with the dead rabbit...

ScrambledSmegs · 23/06/2013 23:05

Phew - caught up now. DH insisted on cooking. We, er, ate a bit late Grin T'was nice though.

Soooo... what are we thinking? Victor can definitely make people see things - that scene where he made Julie think her attacker was back for her was terrifying. So maybe he made Mme Payet see something that made her kill herself? Also, his pictures were really dark, I'm assuming he died violently.

Pierre aka Mr Helping Hand of God - he seems too good. I think if anyone's a murderer in disguise, it's him.

Lena's scar is getting worse. But she didn't seem surprised at it being there, only at it getting worse, so I think she knows how it got there meaning that it's not a transference (?) from Camille, probably more something like a past wound that's re-emerging. Theorising madly here, I think it was caused by her dad. He's already admitted to going 'out of control' after Camille's death, and she seems to have a great hatred for him. And I think he apologised for something specific last week, but I can't remember what.

I wonder what's going on with Lucy.

ScrambledSmegs · 23/06/2013 23:07

Ooooooooooohhhhh - what if Pierre killed Victor? Like, years ago, accidentally or something and that's why he's all holier than thou now?

holstenlips · 23/06/2013 23:17

Who is Lucy lost already

LizTerrine · 23/06/2013 23:17

For some reason, I have just remembered one of the photos that Mr Costa burned. It was an old school photo, and a younger him was the teacher. I think that Victor was one of the children Shock.

Anyone care to re-watch to confirm? Perhaps implicates him in Victor's death?!

smokinaces · 23/06/2013 23:21

That would explain the c4 voice over advising everyone at the end to rewatch episodes one and two.......

OfficialSweetieMonitor · 23/06/2013 23:21

Lucy is the barmaid murdered attacked in the underpass

RiotsNotDiets · 24/06/2013 00:08

What did victor draw? I didn't get a good look

teejwood · 24/06/2013 00:11

Riots it looked like nasty men in threatening poses and maybe people being stabbed or similar?

RiotsNotDiets · 24/06/2013 00:14

thanks teej I'm loving all this talk of water/glass reflections and how the village and the returned are all just some sort of reflections.

They must all be drowned, or else why all the references to the dam?

BoreOfWhabylon · 24/06/2013 02:47

So, Victor is young Serge and ate Cat Lady (so will she become a Revenant too?). Does this mean that Camille ate the rabbit/cat in the bin? Does this also mean that Young Serge came back before and stayed long enough to grow up into Murdering Serge before his brother killed him after the first murders? So is he now two separate Serges at the same time or can he only be one or the other?

I still think, as I said way up there , that The Police chief killed Simon because he wanted Adele for himself.

I'm hoping that all will be explained in due course, I do not like endings that leave you all up in the air. And still feel that my Homeopathic Dam theory prevails.

BlackAffronted · 24/06/2013 04:43

I don't thhink Victor is Serge, I think he can just appear to be other people or can influence how people see him. One thing though, he sure does get creepier with every episode Shock

smokinaces · 24/06/2013 07:11

One of the pictures victor drew was of serge with a knife next to toni with a gun. Very creepy.

Mrsrobertduvall · 24/06/2013 07:27

I saw this for the first time last night and was very very confusex Grin
but enjoyed it.
I will go back and watch the other 2 episodes.

It's very intriguing.

NannyPlumIsMyMum · 24/06/2013 07:45

Was thinking about this so much when I went to sleep last night that I dreamt all night i was a murdererHmm.

DC at school today and I have a day off so I'm going to be lazy and watch episodes 1 and 2 againSmile.

Madamecastafiore · 24/06/2013 07:49

But how come everyone comes back looking like they did when they died but by your musings Victor somehow comes back a lot younger?

smokinaces · 24/06/2013 07:56

Nannyplum, I'm going to do the same. Got a day off to study - going to rewatch one and two on the laptop at some point as a "break" :-)
