Shock God, wasn't he!! Old bugger.

cod · 30/04/2006 21:05

ooh a new series?

Blossomhill · 30/04/2006 21:06

Am taping it. I love TT.

Toothyboy · 30/04/2006 21:07

Yes, was just on. 62 year old father sat back and let his 28 yr old wife deal with nightmare twins on her own. But he's really worried about her sleep deprivation as it brings on her epilepsy.

alittlebitshy · 30/04/2006 21:07

it wasn't just me then......
a few things that happened made me go Shock
can't remember now but.... oh yeah, the one re laeticia wanting biccie at bedtime, being told there are non, then asking for banana and being told NO not BANANA at bedtime. wtf... i'd rather my dd had a banana than a biccie anytime.

re larry (?) why the hell had they never thought that he could actually do something.

loving it though.

Wallace · 30/04/2006 21:07

is it on now?

unicorn · 30/04/2006 21:08

unbelievable.
am a bit worried about her black eye.
did you notice that she stopped herself when saying he had a short fuse?

Wallace · 30/04/2006 21:08

crossed posts. I guess it has just finished

Toothyboy · 30/04/2006 21:08

Loved it when the mum had to crawl out of the bedroom though!!!

OP posts:
beansprout · 30/04/2006 21:09

Was getting v angry as I was watching him sit on his lazy ar$e Angry. So concerned that it never occurred to him to help out?!

Toothyboy · 30/04/2006 21:09

Bet he'll want them to leave early if Tanya starts digging too deep.

OP posts:
chipkid · 30/04/2006 21:10

that's what happens if you have children at the age of 60+-I find it knackering at 37-he would be on his knees if he actually had to do anything to help!!!!!!!!!

alittlebitshy · 30/04/2006 21:11

mmm i noticed that re short fuse.

poor girl....... she does seem to be the parent in that family.
the way the dad was was actually how my dad is with dd, lving but not sure what to do granddad....not how i would expect a dh to be....... odd

chipkid · 30/04/2006 21:16

but not so odd when you consider his age-he is old enough to be the mother's father-he is a totally different generation.
Will be interesting to see if he has any other children from previous relationships.

alittlebitshy · 30/04/2006 21:19

mmm. yes, you're q right on both counts.

Angry at him saying "don't take away me books" yeah, well sod you, i bet she'd love 20 mins to sit down and read, or watch tv or have a long hot bath but i bet you in 2.5 years she's not had that.

i love my books, but not at the expense of my family.

anyone get the feeling it's going to be a Shock and Angry week re him....? Grin

Toothyboy · 30/04/2006 21:21

I wonder if they consciously kept the "don't take away my books" line because that's exactly what Tanya will have to do!

OP posts:
Posey · 30/04/2006 21:24

Dd and dh watched this for the first time ever tonight and were just shocked.
Our guess is that Larry was her lecturer at college/university.
And did you se the way he jerked his thumb in the direction of the smelly nappy and off she went to sort it out.

Will watch with interest. He doesn't want Tanya digging too deep does he, he just wants her to sort out the girls' sleep so he can have a s**g.

Toothyboy · 30/04/2006 21:28

Oooh yes, lecturer, that sounds plausible - we'll wait to hear what's revealed about their relationship! It's definitely doesn't seem to be on an equal footing.

OP posts:
fireflyfairy2 · 30/04/2006 21:37

What side is it on? I missed it, is it repeated? Sounds interesting Wink

Toothyboy · 30/04/2006 21:44

BBC3 and will be on all week (8pm I think), so you'll soon catch up. I think they do a little recap at the beginning of each one. It's a corker!!

auntyquated · 30/04/2006 21:46

bbc 3 at 8pm
every night this week i think.my dd and ds watch it and are hooked DD wants to be a child phych when she is grown up Grin

will have to record it once they go back to school.
very addictive viewing.

agree about larry...he is in for a big shock IF he stays.

awayninahmanger · 30/04/2006 21:48

I am so fed up now that I turned off during family two (routine, rowdy boys) will be sure to look for Larry now

MadamePlatypus · 30/04/2006 21:48

The line that struck me about the twins couple was "they love her so much" she has to sleep between them when they go to sleep. They have definitely got into a rut where only she can deal with them. I agree that he needed to get off his arse, but I think some of the twins' mummy neediness could be encouraged by her. Anyway, I bet Dr Tanya sorts out the sleep problem in 1 night.

beansprout · 30/04/2006 21:50

Larry is the old bloke sitting on his backside reading a book while his black-eyed wife runs around after the twins. Not too hard to spot.

brimfull · 30/04/2006 21:57

Did anyone else think that Rowans dad was being a bit ott about him coming down the slide and banging into his brother? He definately made a bloody mountain out of a molehill there.
