Sports Personality of the Year, will you be voting?

Should be interesting. I will be voting for Wiggo because I like his dry sense of humour, he won the Tour de France, which is a major, huge feat (especially for a Brit) and his gentlemanly conduct on the 'Tack-gate' stage, the French love him, then he goes and takes gold at the olympics and he has encouraged many youngsters to get on their bikes. DH and I think there should be a male and female category though.

Is there still time to vote?

Eosinophilicstrawberry · 16/12/2012 18:27

Torn between Chris Hoy and Jessica Ennis, wish they could all win

kaytola · 16/12/2012 18:31

Wiggo or Weir. I can't decide.

Itsaboatjack · 16/12/2012 18:35

I'll be voting for Jess and Mo, but I'd say its a pretty safe bet that Wiggins will get it.

My money's on Jess and I'd like Kath G to get runner up.

Pan · 16/12/2012 18:48

Wiggo - it was almost unique (?) to have the yellow jersey leading out the train with 1 km to go on the Champs Elysee. They normally sit back and receive the adulation. But there was Wiggo hitting the front on those cobbles and leading Cav to victory. Utterly amazing.

BOFingSanta · 16/12/2012 19:00

I want Jessica Ennis to win.

GreenEggsAndNichts · 16/12/2012 19:09

Mo! :)

Exogenesis · 16/12/2012 19:18

wiggins, wiggins, wiggins!

JoanByers · 16/12/2012 19:24

bradley wiggins will very clearly win partly because he won the TDF, and partly because has several million cyclists to vote for him.

Sleepyfergus · 16/12/2012 19:28

Andy Murray for me. Slight Scot bias Wink

SPOTY is going to be fab tonight. Just think of all the amazing montages there will be. (It's my DHs dream job to be a 'montager-er' - to edit and paste together all the clips and then choose an awesome soundtrack to go with it!!)

Cozy9 · 16/12/2012 19:32

I predict Wiggins, Murray, Ennis as the top 3.

we3kingsoforientRaahh · 16/12/2012 19:33

Grrrr Emile Sande.

She is on EVERYTHING.

TandB · 16/12/2012 19:33

Katherine Grainger.

We were in the same novice university crew in our first year of rowing and she has worked far, far harder for far longer than any of the news stories have described. Her first few years in the sport, she had very little recognition and showed a huge amount of self-motivation to even reach the GB squad level. The facilities at the club she started at were crap and there was almost no funding for promising athletes.

She is also a genuinely lovely person and hysterically funny.

GlaikitFizzogTheChristmasElf · 16/12/2012 19:35

I love KG too! I got my photo taken by her post box when I was home!

we3kingsoforientRaahh · 16/12/2012 19:35

it's bringing back memories of the summer. It really was a phenomenal summer.

AmIthatTinselly · 16/12/2012 19:38

I am already sniffling and welling up Blush

GlaikitFizzogTheChristmasElf · 16/12/2012 19:38

Those games makers are getting their money's worth put of those t shirts!!

we3kingsoforientRaahh · 16/12/2012 20:02

Ian Thorpe Xmas Grin I love him.

RedTinsel · 16/12/2012 20:11

Ellie Simmonds, she's so sweet, lovely and smiley I wanted to adopt her at the Paralympics.

I'm sure I'll end up voting for all of them tho!

DoesntTurkeyNSproutSoupDragOn · 16/12/2012 20:12

If I do vote, it will be for Ellie Simmonds. If it is personality you want, she has it in bucket loads!

PersonalClown · 16/12/2012 20:18

I want the Weirwolf!
4 gold medals in London 2012 AND to hold all British records on track at all distances to 5000m and 3 on the road at 10k, half marathon and marathon.

The man is awesome!!

Hulababy · 16/12/2012 20:18

10y DD and her friend (sleepover) want to vote for Jessica Ennis. We are in Sheffield, so an obvious choice here anyway.

I would love to see a woman win the main prize - I reckon Jess Ennis or Ellie Simmonds should get it. DH reckons it'll be Bradley Wiggins though.

FrillyMilly · 16/12/2012 20:30

I reckon it will be Bradley Wiggins but he comes across as a bit of a knob. I would like it to be Jessica Ennis or Ellie Simmonds. I don't think there should be a seperate category for women though. It would just mean female atheletes become second best to the winner of the main male one.
