Welcome one and all to the fan club of the afternoon soap 'Doctors'.

For any newcomers , explanations as follows:

TBFE: The Bloke From Emmerdale (Ian Kelsey who plays Howard)

SDTP: Saddo Doctors Thread Partakers (which we all think know we are but we love it anyway).

Waterfall cardi: Apparently these are a MN no-no but it's a wardrobe essential to a SDTP.

Gobbyplods: Karen and Rob Hollins, aka 'the only plod in the village'

Beanbags: are now being Freecycled and will be passed on to other lentil weavers.

I got the impression that TBFE & locum 'knew' each other from way back when..? However, I wasn't concentrating so may have got the wrong end of the stick

Yes horse I got that impression, too(that he 'knew' her) They used a military term, that I can't recall. ps hubby watched with me today(hmmm) & said- what's he doing there-meaning why was Kevin at the hospital. He don't get the doctors dedication in Letherbridge!

Thanks for the synopsis. Will end up watching it tonight I suppose, even though it doesn't look great. If I didn't watch it every time it didn't look great I'd never watch it!

lol at this thread! I'm in my 40's and would NEVER wear a waterfall cardigan, essentially because with a 36G bust, the waterfall drops from them and makes me look a size 26 rather than a size 14!!!

just a lack of a waterfall cardi does not exclude you from this thread. We are desperate

New locum - definitely a "past" between her and TBFE. Has she changed her name? Thought she said something about her being called Emma, as though it was a change, but was only half watching.

I think the new locum actually looks a lot like Mac's 2nd wife - thought it was her at first. She seems very familiar, though, so have just had a look on IMDB and she has been in 6 previous episodes as 5 separate characters! Most recent was mid October 2011, so not even a year ago!

I tried on a silvery grey angora lace knit waterfall cardigan today. Was beautiful, but couldn't justify the purchase, even with the excuse that it looked beautiful even with my LO in a wrap on my front... I'd just end up trailing it in poo or the after effects of blw

6tl is a great nickname. Makes us look cool. Realises this is far from the truth and cool is probably a very uncool word

MsN - I expect people look at the thread and hide it, but I'm sure they take a note of our names first so they know not to engage elsewhere on the board.

I think that this thread offers a safe haven for those who would otherwise be shunned due to their crap tv choices. It's like an AA meeting

I have visions of Winnie allowing Heston to wear her wigs and national dress around the house. It would be very liberating after years wearing a bow tie
