Will Fat Thor Jesus pack enough Frizz Ease to get through in Minorca?
Will Zoolander Jesus follow his reflection into the sea and drown?
Will Gobby G4 Jesus swim out from the mainland in desperation?

Forgettable Jesus looks like RobsonandJerome to me (it's that squashed potato nose) and Ben (Mackem?) Jesus has a touch of the Andy Serkis about him. So we call him GollumJesus.
Top three (no order as yet) Thor, Simba & Jesus.
Or Lee Mead, if he's free.

thaliablogs · 15/07/2012 22:27

Well I haven't been able to desert this programme yet but goodness doesn't the BBC do this better? Amanda Holden has no sense of humour and no charisma. Adverts don't help. Plus all the judges are being so NICE! For goodness sake give them some proper feedback rather than just the feeble "You're so amazing please be even more amazing next time" bleating.

Shame as I love the musical and I LOVED all the BBC shows, shamelessly.

SuePurblybilt · 16/07/2012 08:01

The beauty of the BBC productions was the way that the Josephs/Nancys/Dorothys etc and the judges took it SO seriously but everyone else couldn't help a bit of a giggle.

This is just the XF with no wimmin and Amanda Holden Confused. So sad.

I still think Lee Mead is the best, even though he isn't in it. Grin I agree with everything thalia says and I am Sad. I was really looking forward to it too.

Raahh · 16/07/2012 09:16

They do appear to have really messed this up- apparently it was beaten in the ratings by the Lottery results showGrin

Still- dh is on lates, so can watch this live before he gets back. It might improveGrin

SuePurblybilt · 16/07/2012 09:28

I am in till the bitter end.

I think this thread is the entire viewing audience.

iklboo · 16/07/2012 09:36

We record it so we can fast forward through Amanda Holden the adverts.

Raahh · 16/07/2012 09:47

Sue- you may be rightGrin

Figgygal · 16/07/2012 11:13

Just watched the weekends show i loce it......simba, Thor and lee mead Jesus also my faves.

Can't believe it's failed in the ratings......must be that Amanda Holdens fault Grin

Sparklingbrook · 16/07/2012 11:44

I think bung AH on the panel (she was Mrs Shrek after all) and get Dawn presenting.

SuePurblybilt · 16/07/2012 12:34

I dunno. I think Dawn's 'aren't you all lovely and young with lovely eyes and lovely bottoms' would grate after a while. Not as much as AH, true.

Have never watched any of these 'search for a star' type things before but I love JCS and have tickets for the 02 so I thought I would watch and after the first 2 weekends was about to give up as it's so tacky, full of cliches, sob stories and fake tension etc. However, after finding this thread am sticking with it, it's sooo funny. Thank you ladies. I will watch it tonight and try to get all the nicknames right.

SuePurblybilt · 16/07/2012 16:14

I've just seen the advert for tonight. The runner at ITV calls ALW 'Mr Webber'. Is that likely, do we think?

And can everyone manage on this thread or do we need a new one?

OP posts:
StickyProblem · 16/07/2012 16:31

I'm quite revolted by Dawn French's letching. Sure, they are all young and handsome... it was boring after the third time.
I want Butlins Jesus, with Mackem Jesus as understudy. Unless he loses concentration and does jazz hands in the middle of Gethsemane.

iklboo · 16/07/2012 17:06

Butlins Jesus might suddenly announce 'Open The Box' or 'Bingo tickets on sale after Herod' if he gets nervous & loses concentration.

Vagaceratops · 16/07/2012 17:13

I agree Sue - on the Beeb it was much more serious, with a panel of people who were critics.

ITV have turned it into Carry on Xfactor.

Sparklingbrook · 16/07/2012 17:23

I have a horrible feeling Dawn may try to snog one of them in a 'comedy' fashion. Sad

FelicityElectricity · 16/07/2012 18:28

IMO this thread is the only reason to keep watching. Amanda Holden gets right up my nose with her giggling and being all over the Jesuseseses. They don't want a hug from you Amanda! Can't believe it is 90 mins long tonight. What exactly are they going to do for that long? Apart from 60 mins worth of adverts

alemci · 16/07/2012 18:33

some of the songs they are given to sing are awful. i quite like this show. at least they haven't got that stupid grovelly bit on it with Phantom of the opera playing like they did on the BBC.

Sparklingbrook · 16/07/2012 18:46

Was it Fame Academy when the audience voted out of 3 songs what they wanted the victims to sing? That would be better.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 16/07/2012 18:52

Please keep the thread well updated tonight!!

Sparklingbrook · 16/07/2012 18:58

9 til half 10 tonight. It may be a bit of an endurance test.

Vagaceratops · 16/07/2012 19:02

I might be thick and missed it, but where is the results show from last night?

Sparklingbrook · 16/07/2012 19:05

I may be wrong but I think that's the first bit of tonight's show?

cardibach · 16/07/2012 19:10

Yes, beginning of this one for results. Seems a bit bonkers when that means the out one willhave rehearsed a song.
