I am so bloody excited. I have wiped the sky+ box so that I can store the episodes. I can't wait to see brienne and melissandre.

And robb with his kit off.

Or jon snow.

The part with Bran and Rickon is pretty much as it is in the story - you can answer honestly there. OR you could say "read them yourself!"

Trills · 14/05/2012 22:20

Having read book 5 makes it hard to hate Theon

OracleInaCoracle · 14/05/2012 22:28

I still felt a tiny bit sorry for him. that look, when he realised that he was totally lost, and could never go back... and Im glad we got a bit more Jaime this week, the scene between him and Cat was excellent. I never really liked her, and I found myself nodding along.

but Ygritte. I love her. I really do. "You know nothing, Jon Snow" brilliant!!

It's better to be thought cruel than to be thought weak

Trills · 14/05/2012 22:30

Haha yes, DP and I both said "drink!" when she said "you know nothing, Jon Snow"

OracleInaCoracle · 14/05/2012 22:32

I got really excited, started prodding DH shouting "she said it, she said it!!"

They were also bigging up how Jaime would be rubbish at everything other than being an elite fighter...

it really highlighted how ruthless he is didnt it? and he was right, Aerys was awful, he was right to stop it. for all the sneering and the "kingslayer" stuff, this was a king who roasted innocents and burned villages. he did what was right, not honourable, but right.

loved Tywin and Arya again "milord, lowborn girls say milord. if you are going to pretend to be a commoner, do it right"

and Sansa's flowering, I quite liked Cersei's chat with her.

Would you like it better if I had stabbed the Mad King in the belly?

(Jaime in season 1 to Ned)

A woman's life is nine parts mess to one part magic, you'll learn that soon enough...and the parts that look like magic turn out to be the messiest of all.

(bit sad that we didn't quite get that one from Cersei)

whathaveiforgottentoday · 14/05/2012 22:52

I enjoyed it tonight although I'm not enjoying the deviations from the books particularly with Daenerys' story. just feels wrong but I guess we'll have to see where it leads.

OracleInaCoracle · 14/05/2012 22:53

yes, Cersei is so complex, you do feel for her at times. she was a prisoner to her sex. but you can see the beginnings of her unravelling now.

I just watched monday's ep. Ooh it was a good un.

ErikNorseman · 16/05/2012 19:57

Can you explain though, was xaro responsible for the khalasar being murdered and the theft of the dragons? What do you think baldy wants with daenarys?

MrsCampbellBlack · 17/05/2012 18:53

Oh I am sad have just finished book 5 - when is book 6 due out - have got withdrawal symptoms already.

Trills · 20/05/2012 19:23

The last book took 6 years so don't hold your breath.

MrsCampbellBlack · 20/05/2012 20:39

Noooooo - don't say that.

ErikNorseman · 23/05/2012 15:52

Ooh nice work robb stark!

OracleInACoracleocus · 28/05/2012 10:50

Blackwater tonight!!!!!!!!!!

Trills · 28/05/2012 11:14

Tonight? Already?!

OracleInACoracleocus · 28/05/2012 11:23

yes! next week is the finale, I dont see how, because we've got to see the house of the undying, meet the brotherhood, jon and the wildings.... but i cant remember being so excited about an episode.

Trills · 28/05/2012 11:29

I think Jon only has one more thing to do in this book with the wildings (involving the Halfhand, if you remember).

OracleInACoracleocus · 28/05/2012 11:36

ahhh yes, I am loving Ygritte btw. she is perfect!

still a bit Hmm at altering the sequence. Cat freeing Jaime and Robb sleeping with Jeyne (or whatever it is they called her) makes sense on hearing about Theon "killing" Bran and Rickon.

Robb is still his fathers son, and I dont believe that he would abandon his honour/such an important marriage without profound grief clouding his judgement.

And Catelyn freeing Jaime is the desperate act of a desperate woman, a grieving mother. Not a petulant jab at her son.

Trills · 28/05/2012 11:42

Her teeth are a bit too straight and white but that's always the problem with modern actors playing characters who really would not have had access to fluoride toothpaste or braces

OracleInACoracleocus · 28/05/2012 11:57

Grin I love that she's not some waif-like, doe-eyed titian beauty. Im still not sold on Yarra/Asha. i always saw her as lithe and hard.
