I was a bit disappointed with Renlys murder, all seemed to be a bit quick, but it was nice to see Cersei started to unravel.

did anyone else get all upset when Theon decided to take Winterfell and Bran sent the troops?

I know what happens, but I cant help hoping that it wont Sad

marjory isnt innocent enough imo.

I was sat there saying 'no' bran! Grin

Margery defo not looking as innocent and playful as she should.

'Is she good?' I'm still not sure and I've read all the books so far! I do quite like her though, I want her to be a chapter character in the next book.

Ooops

I like her because of who she goes up against. :)

Pelicano · 04/05/2012 21:08

I assumed Marge was pretty ruthless when she said " No, I want to be THE Queen"....but I haven't read the books yet.

OracleInaCoracle · 07/05/2012 10:04

I see Marjery as similar to Sansa in that she is a pawn in the game. I still like to think of her as quite innocent.

tonight Theon challenges Joffrey as The Most Hated Man In Westeros.

I have a couple of questions about changes from book to the series.

Wasn't Arya cup bearer to Roose Bolton not Tywin Lannister? I would of thought Tywin would have recognised Arya seeing as she looks so much like a stark so fine that a bit odd.

Also seeing as it looks like they've missed Meera and Jojen, what's going to happen next as surely they are quite a big part of the story? Don't want to say too much so I don't spoil it. Unless of course they are going to appear tonight?

I always saw Margery as quite innocent, not a naive as Sansa but definitely not scheming.

OracleInaCoracle · 07/05/2012 10:25

Roose takes Arya as his cupbearer after he takes Harrenhal iirc, I think it happens much later. I am, however, loving the scenes between them. Maisie Williams (?) really holds her own against Dance, and really shows Arya's strength.

well? anyone else disappointed with the taking of winterfell, but feel a mix of revulsion and pity for Theon?

OP posts:
crikeybill · 08/05/2012 10:02

Yes I was a bit oh at how quick they skimmed over that. Theon fascinates me though. I feel sorry for him, but think he's a silly little boy at the same time. The difference between him and robb stark is huge !! Plus I look at him and see Lilly Allen and Keith Allen all rolled into one and that distracts me lol.

The woman robb is talking to isn't in the books is she. She's new.

Plus bran left with hodor and the girl wildling so I guess that answers the jojen question .

It's still good, but straying further from the book. Ayra and Tywin Lannister seem to be striking up a friendship too which is odd ?

OracleInaCoracle · 08/05/2012 10:05

I agree that the straying from the books is odd, I do like the friendship between Arya and Tywin though. the woman Robb is flirting with is Jeyne Westerling, I feel so sorry for him. the chemistry between them is great though, and I love that she's not conventionally pretty.

OP posts:
OracleInaCoracle · 08/05/2012 10:07

I would have loved to have seen Theon pause outside Winterfell, and the way he sat with Bran to "explain" just broke my heart. maybe its what is coming for him, maybe its the way alfie allen plays him, but I feel so bad for him. he is a little boy who doesnt belong anywhere.

OP posts:
Ephiny · 08/05/2012 11:28

I thought the taking of Winterfell was a bit of a non-event, would have expected just a little more build-up and action there!

I do like the Tywin/Arya interactions (and the actress playing Arya is doing a fantastic job, especially given how young she must be!) though it is a big change from the books and I wonder slightly where they're going with that.

I'm guessing Littlefinger recognised her - also not in the books, but I guess if he knows she's alive (and where she is) that gives him some leverage in his negotiations with Catelyn.

Some of the changes from the books seem a bit odd (the dragons being stolen? all Dany's people killed?) but I'm sure they know what they're doing and it'll all work out in the end! I guess they have to condense things a bit due to time and budget constraints.

crikeybill · 09/05/2012 00:36

Are you sure the the woman robb is flirting with is jayne westerling ? I know that's who he is meant to end up with but that's not what she said her name was ??
Plus jayne was a timid little thing in the book, this woman is strong !

OracleInaCoracle · 09/05/2012 07:40

Yes, its definitely her. They've changed the name again.

OP posts:
BusinessTrills · 09/05/2012 19:34

They've changed her story too, if that's who she is.

The girl he marries in the books is Northern, and the daughter of someone not very powerful who already supports him.

This girl is foreign, at least a bit.

OracleInaCoracle · 09/05/2012 21:33

but she is still the daughter of a merchant family who married an old but poor name. I really like her. I can imagine Robb being attracted to someone with guts rather than a mouse.

OP posts:
Trills · 10/05/2012 10:19

I always thought Robb was a bit crap, so maybe he would have poor taste in women.

Ephiny · 10/05/2012 10:56

I think in the books her mother/grandmother were foreign? Maybe she's lying about her name and will turn out to be Jeyne Westerling after all?

Actually as I remember in the books we never really got to see how exactly she met Robb, how they got together etc, as we never got either character's point of view, they just randomly turned up married at some point.

OracleInaCoracle · 10/05/2012 10:56

nooooo, wash out your mouth! Wink I love Robb. the red wedding made me sob.

OP posts:
OracleInaCoracle · 10/05/2012 10:57

she tended to him after a battle didnt she? and when he heard about Bran and Rickon she "comforted" him hussy

OP posts:
whathaveiforgottentoday · 14/05/2012 22:12

That was an unpleasant finish tonight. I knew it was coming but still not nice. All sympathy for Theon just left and he seems even more pathetic than he does in the books.

DaenerysTargaryen · 14/05/2012 22:18

Dp was hopping up and down saying 'that's not the kids is it? Is it? Come on, tell me!' Grin

They've deviated so far from the story now I feel like I couldn't answer honestly!

The 13 are all dead too Confused
