I've decided to watch West Wing again from the beginning. Anyone care to join me?

I watched a random episode at the weekend and gosh darn it I had forgotten just how much I love this show!

Starting tonight I'm going to start rewatching the whole thing from the very beginning. Anyone want to join me, or just generally share the West Wing love?

Bumper you beat me to it! I watched the ep. with 'Desire' over the end montage last night. It's just so, so good on so many levels.

Rob Lowe. What woman in her late thirties hasn't had a thing for him. But he looked a bit thin and weird in the West Wind. I'm sure he'd had his eyes done. he would have been more attractive if he gained a bit of weight and got a few wrinkles.

I really liked Amy too, when she was in 'politician' mode although many people seem to think she was too big for her boots. What got on my nerves was the self conscious 'kookiness', the whole 'girl-child' thing which seemed at odds with her feminist agenda.

NormanTebbit · 19/05/2011 13:29

And Toby's psychoanalysis of other people. So accurate and so devastating.

NormanTebbit · 19/05/2011 13:30

West Wind? West Wing.

CaveMum · 19/05/2011 13:30

I'm aware that there are a few people on here that have not seen the whole 7 seasons and probably want to avoid spoilers. I've created a new thread here for full discussion of WW.

Let's try to keep spoilers off this thread.

I'm in my late mid 30s and I've never had a thing for Rob Lowe!

If I had to choose from the cast, I'd have a go with Toby.

IslaValargeone · 19/05/2011 13:47

The episode where CJ had root canal was particularly funny :o

IslaValargeone · 19/05/2011 13:48

I too would do Toby, with a bit of Josh as a side order.

NormanTebbit · 19/05/2011 13:55

TOBY??

I would do Josh, Sam, Leo, and Charlie, in that order. Maybe Will if feeling energetic.

bigkidsmademe · 19/05/2011 13:58

God no. No Charlie, no Will. Totally Josh and yes probably Toby too. Sam, of bloody course

LRDTheFeministDragon · 19/05/2011 14:00

Ooh, I've just noticed that Roger Tribbey the secretary of agriculture is the Mayor of Sunnydale. Terrifying.

LRDTheFeministDragon · 19/05/2011 14:00

I'd most happily do Josh and have to admit to a sneaking thing for Leo ... he's only a leetle too old, right?!

AbsDuCroissant · 19/05/2011 14:01

I see the attraction of Toby. I would do Sam, josh (but I would have to slap him), charlie, toby and then president Bartlett, in that order. And a brief lesbo fling with CJ. Or we'd just go out for cocktails and karaoke.

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 19/05/2011 14:01

Yep. Toby. Wouldn't touch any of the others with a bargepole, much as I love them for their brains. Especially not Will.

NormanTebbit · 19/05/2011 14:12

Oh I considered CJ. Cocktails sounds better though. Amy, yes. Donna - no too thin and blonde.

PfftTheMagicDragon · 19/05/2011 14:16

This was my new years' resolution this year - I bought the entire DVD boxset online. My plan was to watch the whole thing by the end of the year.

Of course, it is now May and I haven't watched ONE episode! I can't believe I have managed to never see the show, I've seen almost everything else!

Now there's this thread, I shall have to get a move on.

Hassled · 19/05/2011 14:20

I'm glad to see that there are other people out there who see the attraction of Toby. He smiles so rarely that when he does, you melt a bit. Or at least I melt a bit. And he's so moral.

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 19/05/2011 14:24

Hassled, thank you. Although it's not really his morals that do it for me. I think it's the killer timing and wry dry humour. And the way his eyes dart from side to side when he talks. And he's so effing CLEVER!

AbsDuCroissant · 19/05/2011 14:44

DP's personality is quite a lot like Toby's. He's very dry, generally a bit grumpy, but super intelligent and very funny.

For e.g. (poor woman, you might need to know How I Met Your Mother to appreciate this though) we were chatting to this woman, and she said she was studying to become an environmental lawyer. DP looks at her, and completley deadpan says "oh, that's interesting, we have a friend called Marshall who wanted to become an environmental lawyer, but sadly he couldn't make it". I was having to dig my nails into my leg to stop myself from laughing, whereas DP just carried on, talking about our friend Marshall the environmental lawyer.

Pinkjenny · 19/05/2011 14:57

Sam, then Josh, then Leo. He had such an authoritative presence

culturemulcher · 19/05/2011 15:57

I keep expecting Josh to pop up any moment on the thread a la Lemon-Lyman.com and insist that he's way more attractive than Leo, Sam or, indeed, Toby. Grin

Plus he's got that cute boyish charm thing...

culturemulcher · 19/05/2011 15:59

Can't remember how Toby said he got women... something to do with his wit, I think?

My vote would be one night stand with Sam (or five, or ten) then settle down with Toby. No, Josh. No, Toby. Maybe Josh. Need further research.

tribpot · 19/05/2011 18:53

His watchable quality, a la Annabeth?

Cristiane · 19/05/2011 23:13

I think it would have to be Josh but only if he was 'in sorcel' with me... Because if he ain't desperate then he just wouldn't care...

But he would try very hard once you 'had' him

Cristiane · 19/05/2011 23:15

Or Toby... The time when he oes into the press room for the first time and asks for a rating between 0 and 10 afterwards... 10 being CJ, 0 being an ape
