Promising start to the series last night - just as The Guardian promised, Prime Suspect meets State of Play with a bit of Wallander (i.e. Scandinavian and with subtitles). Really moving scene where the couple whose daughter's body had been found then tried to explain it to their younger children.

Anyone else see it?

Now the Archers has thrown in a cliff hanger aswell. Will have to lie in darkened room until tomorrow now as it's all too much.

No room for RL anymore. Have stocked up on ready meals to eat out of pans for the weekend.

Nah, he's the only one I don't suspect. Wavered there for a moment.

That's hardcore - cook food in plastic tray in microwave, then decant into pan for eating? Respec'.

And pour wine into beer bottle to neck.

muminlondon · 11/03/2011 20:18

But then again, the fact I think there's a political conspiracy may be all a figment of his psychotic paranoia ..

muminlondon it's the posters of him that make me wonder whether he's a psycho. Would a normal guy want massive posters of himself everywhere? I know it's election time, but still, I'd rather he turned them to the wall!

Also, he has lied and lied and lied. I really don't believe that about the suicide attempt. He was too cheerful afterwards. It was the second anniversary, not the first, which is usually considered much more traumatic. He didn't see a doctor or mention he had been sick etc after gassing himself, did he? It looked like they'd left in a hurry, with the towels still by the door. To be honest, it looked as though he'd set it up as a suicide scene.

He was quite cruel to that woman from the dating site, too.

Hmm maybe prison is the place for him!

Habbibu · 11/03/2011 20:22

God, I really hoep it's not a multiple/split personality thing. That would be very disappointing.

Habbibu · 11/03/2011 20:24

There were posters of Bremer everywhere in his office too - they prob get so used to them they stop seeing them, iyswim?

Good points, atswim. The broken window in tthe summer house gotr me - they had to break the window to get in, so wouldn't the gas have just leaked out of there anyway?

And I still don't get the deal with Buchard and the covering-up - they were desperate to keep Troels out of it at teh start, now he's turfed into chokey.

atswimtwolengths · 11/03/2011 20:30

Well, Habbibu, Troels said he broke the window to get in.

It's not been explained about the car that was there all night, either, given that Troels went down by taxi.

I think there are too many cars and they are either white or black, with no other descriptions. If they just said 'The white Mercedes' or whatever then I'd be okay, but they all look the same to me!

I want to believe my husband to be Troels is innocent and do, really, too. I think he's been set up but isn't a completely innocent man. I wonder whether he'd actually had an affair with Nanna but knows if he admits it, it's political suicide. He can see that he's being set up right, left and centre but can't tell the truth in order to get out of it.

Habbibu · 11/03/2011 20:33

yy, I know Troels broke the window, but if he wanted to gas himself, wouldn't he have had to cover up the break, so as to stop the gas escaping?

But then he seemed fine immediately afterwards.

wigwam1973 · 11/03/2011 20:41

Atswim - are we invited to the wedding? Is so, I'll need to make a note of the date on my incident board. It's getting rather crowded, don't you know.Grin

Just thought of something - not sure of the timeline.

In episode one there's a bit where Troels has lost his watch and Rie hands it to him - says it was under her bed.

It's a flirty exchange. Morten says something like, "Hey I thought you'd lost your watch" when he sees Troels putting it on. We realise Rie and Troels are sleeping together and that the office doesn't know.

Now - isn't that the Monday after Nanna goes missing, ie just about 36 hours after Troels has attempted suicide? Doesn't this seem odd to you? He looked like he'd just been laid, all private smiles, etc. Is this something that should go on our board?

atswimtwolengths · 11/03/2011 20:44

You are invited to the wedding, wigwam as long as it's not in prison! Can imagine Rie shrieking "It should have been me!"

Habbibu · 11/03/2011 20:47

yy, atswim - I was thinking about the watch earlier.

atswimtwolengths · 11/03/2011 20:49

And he was happy, wasn't he? And she was. And Morten didn't know about Troels and Rie. Hmmmm.
