Promising start to the series last night - just as The Guardian promised, Prime Suspect meets State of Play with a bit of Wallander (i.e. Scandinavian and with subtitles). Really moving scene where the couple whose daughter's body had been found then tried to explain it to their younger children.

Anyone else see it?

Sorry - Shagaround is Holck (leader of the coalition) Knud was the permy haired fellow who wanted to bring Troels down early on.

Blackduck · 11/03/2011 16:28

Shagaround = Holck

Your gut is wise proles I think. He's peaked too early.

Blackduck · 11/03/2011 16:31

But could be the original lover.- of the dodgy boots...

Fivecentsplease · 11/03/2011 16:33

Were they a gift though? Or were they her hooker boots (mind you she wasn't wearing them on the night)

Fivecentsplease · 11/03/2011 16:34

Wonder if the boots manufacturer in Denmark is in one almighty sulk over the UK reaction, compared to the Jumper thing.Grin

Blackduck · 11/03/2011 16:40

So they weren't hidden in the closet because they were a (dodgy) gift, but because her mother would say 'what the hell are those and how much did they cost?' :)

Fivecentsplease · 11/03/2011 16:43

Exactamundo, as GeneGenie would say.

atswimtwolengths · 11/03/2011 16:45

Couldn't it be both, Blackduck? They were a gift from a dodgy older man but were expensive too.

atswimtwolengths · 11/03/2011 16:46

:) @ fivecentsplease over the boots manufacturers sulking.

teej · 11/03/2011 16:48

re the boots - i think they were a gift because she was intent on building up her savings and Lund noted they were v expensive.

think shagaround has definately been up to no good - remember when he was in troels' office and he said he was ashamed of something or words to that effect? troels assumed he was talking about going on the corrupt jolly to latvia. what if it was about a young girl obsession (hence his wife divorcing him) or stalking/attacking nanna?

still can't get my head around what she thought she was going to do that weekend. that really is a missing part of the puzzle...

Fivecentsplease · 11/03/2011 16:55

Teej , what if she was really having an affair with Rama, since the summer, and her essay is about meeting him (maybe a fantasy), but she got the heave-ho on the Friday night, and went to city hall to meet old keen boyfriend to seek solace......,

OR, better still, she thought she had the weekend with Rama, but then had no where to stay, so went to the flat she had a key for to sleep, and found the dodgy Latvian sex group there already. .....

Only one more sleep till more Killing!

atswimtwolengths · 11/03/2011 16:57

But would she go to Rama's house at night? Wouldn't she guess that his wife would be there? Weren't there records of his phone calls - I don't remember one from Nanna.

atswimtwolengths · 11/03/2011 16:59

Oooh fivecents I like that idea of her happening upon a group thing at the flat.

However, she was excited at the thought of the meeting, wasn't she? She'd be despondent if she thought she had nowhere to sleep for the night, wouldn't she?

By the way, the girl who Rama was protecting was never interviewed by the police, was she?

atswimtwolengths · 11/03/2011 17:00

So Nanna's parents were away for the weekend? I didn't know that.

Still thinking that maybe she was on the concrete floor of the garage for a couple of days. Was that possible, logistically?

atswimtwolengths · 11/03/2011 17:00

I am still waiting for Theis to ask someone for his video card back...

Fivecentsplease · 11/03/2011 17:01

Perhaps he'd said his wife was away and she took that as a come on. How did she know where he lived, anyway?.

Fivecentsplease · 11/03/2011 17:04

She was excited at the party as she thought he'd given the green light maybe? Then despondent after, possibly self destructive, in going to find the old unsuitable boyfriend?

atswimtwolengths · 11/03/2011 17:08

But his wife wasn't away at that point, was she? He took her to their country house. (How come we can't have country homes?)

She was excited when she left Rami, according to the taxi driver. That makes me think she thought she was meeting Troels. I know how I'd feel if I thought I was going to meet him!

KnitterNotTwitter · 11/03/2011 17:09

atswim yes Leyla - Rama girl - gave a statement to the police...

Still not sure why she left her bike at Rama's and got taxi into town.... why didn't she cycle?

atswimtwolengths · 11/03/2011 17:09

Yes, I wondered how she knew his address. But bringing back a book? Surely that's crap? Did he ever produce the book?

Fivecentsplease · 11/03/2011 17:10

atswim are you meaning she was kept in her own garage (Birk Larson office) or warehouse. Well - Vagn would know that no-one would disturb him there, and he has keys to both.

atswimtwolengths · 11/03/2011 17:10

The thing about the boy's father hitting him... so much time has passed since those were on, don't you think it would be strange to go back to them now?

atswimtwolengths · 11/03/2011 17:12

I meant she might have been kept in her own garage, yes, where he dad and Vagn work. The place that held her wake. Although I do think the new home is significant, too. However, it had people all over it looking for dry rot, so I assume nothing happened there.

By the way, wasn't Pernille ignorant of the new home? I remember she knew nothing about it and that seemed strange.
