Promising start to the series last night - just as The Guardian promised, Prime Suspect meets State of Play with a bit of Wallander (i.e. Scandinavian and with subtitles). Really moving scene where the couple whose daughter's body had been found then tried to explain it to their younger children.

Anyone else see it?

Surely the new house has to come into it somehow? What was the point in all that earlier, otherwise?

teej · 11/03/2011 11:09

A lot of people have said it already. He's creepy.

A lot of people have said he's too stupid to set up troels, but if we take it the clean up at the apartment was a rush job to protect someone else rather than implicate troels (because we are talking about two different crimes) then the killer does not need to be a rocket scientist, do they?
Hmm

teej · 11/03/2011 11:09

atswim so you think she was held there?

atswimtwolengths · 11/03/2011 11:11

This is big problem, isn't it? There seems to be a number of crimes committed on the poor girl. I think I'm going to be hyperventilating on the last night!

teej · 11/03/2011 11:13

btw meggle am kind of jealous you know, but kind of not. am in a horrible bind where i think "oh, we'll know in three weeks" and then think "but that means it will be over!" Sad

agree it's nice to see normal women who look like they run after families/ attend crime scenes etc!

It would be ironic if Nanna was held in the room which was built for her, wouldn't it?

I know that the surveyor had been there looking at the dry rot - that was after the body was found, wasn't it? I assume he would have been into every room to diagnose it, though, which puts paid to my idea.

I'm still annoyed about the hotel - the sister and father went to see Nanna in the hotel. It seems very strange that a young girl would pay to go to a hotel on her own. It seems far more likely that she went there with someone. This hasn't been looked at at all. Why wouldn't she have gone home or to her friend's house?

Megglevache · 11/03/2011 11:23

I'm hiding this thread now because I'm not sure how far in eps it's got to and I'm worried I'd stick a spoiler in.

By the way- I missed the first episode, do they show much of Nanna in it all all- I have only seen clips where she is running in the woods.

Enjoy- I am kind of envious that you get to see it all fresh too you know Wink

atswimtwolengths · 11/03/2011 11:30

That's all we ever see of Nanna, Meg.

teej · 11/03/2011 11:31

proles all DNA evidence of the attacker was removed from the party flat, so there was an element of cleaning up, unless you still think it was troels who attacked her.

Megglevache · 11/03/2011 11:33

Thanks and enjoy.

Nanna's DNA was there, but not the attacker's. How could they do that, with all of the mess that was created? They say it's impossible not to leave a trace of yourself behind, don't they?

Blackduck · 11/03/2011 11:53

So are we still thinking two attackers. Attacker one - in flat and then attakcer two Vagn (may be she called him thinking he was safe and would help her, only to find he was worse - and jealous....)???

I do remember early on when he came in with Pizza to Theis and Pernilla and I just thought 'ar eyou so bloody insensitve? Piss off. And then I thought may be you want to be there because you need to know what is happening with the investigation....'

But Prolesworth, if it was someone who had the right to be in the flat, then you'd expect DNA, wouldn't you? If not semen, blood, etc.

I wonder if she called the garage to get her dad and Vagn answered?

Don't forget Vagn had an elastoplast on his neck in episode 1.

atswimtwolengths · 11/03/2011 12:00

I feel we might be getting somewhere with this!

Blackduck · 11/03/2011 12:02

Teej you are right Vagn is the only one who hasn't been closely questioned and whose movements we know nothing about.

Proles - I agree does seem a bit odd...

Maybe the chase was on the first night and then she was captured?

Oh god I don't know!

There are three things:

  1. the chase
  2. being kept somewhere for a couple of days
  3. drowning

All we know is that the drowning was last!

jammietart · 11/03/2011 12:49

Its always struck me as strange that we haven't seen more of Nanna. Do we def know that the girl in the opening sequence is her? I assume its the same location because of the plane in the chase and when Meyer and Lund first arrive at the scene but two girls, two crimes and two perpetrators?

Although I still think Morten I think there is more to come from Oliver's Dad. The way he reacted to Oliver when he was first questioned (slaps him round the head) has always struck me as significant

OK I know we haven't seen much of Nanna because she is dead so I guess what I mean is I would struggle to identify her.
