Promising start to the series last night - just as The Guardian promised, Prime Suspect meets State of Play with a bit of Wallander (i.e. Scandinavian and with subtitles). Really moving scene where the couple whose daughter's body had been found then tried to explain it to their younger children.

Anyone else see it?

but to answer your question, nah, don't remember the screwdriver. Makes me wonder how many other important clues red herrings I have forgotten....

Does the presence of the screwdriver give you a new theory, Teej?

atswimtwolengths · 10/03/2011 23:17

OK well I've seen the end of the last episode again and yes, it was a different car (don't know how I didn't notice that) and yes, Pernille looks like a woman with a mission.

But then I watched the start of episode 1 and it was so weird what I'd forgotten. They'd used prophetic fallacy - everything was bright and colourful and happy (in Nanna's household) - Pernille and Theus had sex on the floor, she obviously really loved and fancied him, and everything in their garden was rosy. Then, of course, the shock. I didn't watch that, didn't think I could bear to watch it again.

atswimtwolengths · 10/03/2011 23:18

The only person I can think of with a screwdriver is either Theis or his little mate. I'd forgotten it, too.

teej · 10/03/2011 23:22

i think the implication was that she had tried to jimmy her way out of the car with it, as there were marks around the windscreen, but perhaps it has been used by the killer too? it's just it was quite a bright red when everything else was very monochrone in that scene, so it kind of stood out.
that could either be a clue, or just stylistically quite cool Confused as usual

re: Troels has been renamed as... Darren!

Upsince: please please confirm that this is nowhere near an equivalent name??? (No, I'm not sure why it matters Biscuit)

About that necklace - I reckon it was Troels' dead wife's - I think he must be involved, he is far too delicious not to be (especially with no shirt)

And another thing - how did Nanna be so forensically clean that after multiple rapes etc, there was NO trace of DNA of the rapist? I can't imagine even several baths would be that effective. And if she was running through the woods after being cleaned she would have got pretty muddy again - maybe that all washed off in the car though.

(think i am beginning to ask questions I really, really don't want to know the answer to, now....I'm with Pernille, on muddy ponds....)

anyway they should bring in the "Silent Witness" lot to wrap it up. They would soon be busily running after people, beating up suspects, getting shot etc. in time-honoured British cop-show fashion, but they'd definitely have another look at the forensics.

teej · 11/03/2011 00:30

for something this bonkers we quite obviously need sherlock - mr cumberbatch would fit in quite well i feel Grin

teej · 11/03/2011 00:32

monochrome from earlier btw. not monochrone. that would be a single hag.

Blackduck · 11/03/2011 06:37

oh Sherlock (don't get me started :) ) I'd forgotten about the screwdriver too (updates board). Was there any mention of the attacker having worn protection - thus no DNA to be had (and all that water...) Was she meant to be found? It was one of Lund's insights wasn't it? (as I recall from episode 1 she sees some kids with fishing rods).
Yes P is off to BOILS - why? Definately losing it.
I am liking the theory that the attack in the flat was one person and then she was 'rescued' by someone she thought would help her only to find herself in a worse situation.....Troels as first attacker, kindly harmless Morten as second attacker and subsequent murderer?? (but can't see him chasing her through the woods somehow..)

Megglevache · 11/03/2011 08:36

I guessed who it was all along Grin

Blackduck · 11/03/2011 08:49

So have you watched it, or checked out the web? And no-one likes a smartarse you know :)

Megglevache · 11/03/2011 08:51

hehe I know they don't which is why they love me- because I have never gotten anything like this right! Grin

DH was rolling his eyes LOL.

Yes I saw ep 20 last night.

Blackduck · 11/03/2011 08:57

Well you know you are not allowed to breath a word or to give any hints or you will be cursed by the entire board!! (be scared, be very scared!)

teej · 11/03/2011 09:26

going back to the timeline and the discovery of the body, and assuming this is a serial killer who had developed an obsession with nanna, i finally have a suspect in mind but am keeping schtum, mainly because those suspicions are based more on what we don't know rather than what we do so i have no evidence to back it up and could be shot down in flames. it also assumes the agatha christie model of having the killer in view the whole way along - but even though the writer says they adore agatha they might not have followed this particular trope this time around....

Megglevache · 11/03/2011 09:49

Aren't all the woman really attractive in this show?

Even Lund with her baggy eyes is beautiful. Not a drop of botox between 'em.

Blackduck · 11/03/2011 09:51

oh come on teej, spill, we need lots of grist to the mill.....

teej · 11/03/2011 10:40

ok - what has swung it for me in the past 24 hours.
whose weekend DON'T we know anything about as yet?

teej · 11/03/2011 10:41

if you look at the main characters that is....
oh and who in this whole thing has the time to be stalking Lund? those bods over at city hall seem a mite too busy for that sort of thing...
