Hope you're ok, snowball don't write off the whole of today. You can space it out and still cut down, and get some rest if you can! Even if it's 2 steps forward and 1 step back, it's still moving forward. Smile

Snowball426 · 26/02/2017 11:02

ZiggertyZaggerty · 26/02/2017 11:10

Back on board - Thanks Lost.
Feeling a bit stupid. Got to do Sunday lunch for 8 people and wish I had a clearer head and more energy... I know I'll end up drinking too much wine to try and compensate for feeling crappy - it's a vicious circle eh?
Happy Sunday surfers. I'm clinging on to the board with a vice like grip!

Snowball426 · 26/02/2017 11:13

It was in his missing times and was in a phone box for ages!!! I had no insurance and fell off a moped so needed to speak to parents to pay. No idea who he was. Just irritating twat going on and on !!!

serialtester · 26/02/2017 11:19

Instead of getting on with the housework I'm wasting time trying to decide if I'd rather marry Liam Gallagher or Ian Brown.

Hi lovely ladies, I've been lurking silently on this thread for a while and thought it time to say hi. I'm a 47 yr old single mum of one teenage DS. I used to be a right party girl and still indulge from time to time but recently it's been every weekend, mainly out of boredom. Your thread makes me feel so much better as see I'm not the only one that struggles to say no. Was resolute I was gonna be good this weekend but fell off my surfboard last night with a male friend who's a bad influence and now feeling very sorry for myself. That's it really just wanted to say thanks for being there, you all sound fab!

serialtester · 26/02/2017 11:31

Hello Hoochi!

Hoochi

We all do from time to time. But I can honestly say in the short time I've been here I has helped X

HoochiMama · 26/02/2017 11:38

Yes it's really helped me too even though I fell overboard last night. Ugh I suffer so bad the next day, guilt and self loathing. I drink and smoke loads when I do it so feel even worse. Have had one hours sleep and had to drop DS at rugby was praying I didn't see anyone I knew. Saw all these people out jogging and thought why can't I be normal like them? Anyway have had a little snooze and feel a bit better, got to be sociable when I pick DS up so better sort myself out. Onwards and upwards! Hope you all have a good day and hugs to my fellow sufferers x

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 26/02/2017 12:08

Welcome, Hoochi I really struggle at the weekends too! My brain seems to have a self destruct weekend mode which is blooming hard to over ride.

Zig Good luck with your Sunday lunch. Don't waste too much energy on the regret, just concentrate on getting through today and resist the urge to hide in a cupboard when your guests arrive. I prescribe a lovely early night for you tonight. Smile.

INeedAWittyNameChange · 26/02/2017 17:17

Inevitably I succumbed last night. Not sure if it's the coke or my OH that I just can't say no to.
Stayed in bed until 1pm and actually feeling better for it. Normally I would drag myself up at a semi-reasonable time and try to act as if I was fine which would just make me feel worse. But I do still get the "why can't I be like a normal person" feelings.

HoochiMama · 26/02/2017 17:39

Nice to meet you Witty, Lost and Snow. I think the lack of sleep is a major factor, had a nap this afternoon and feel much better although still rather ashamed. Getting a plan in place for next weekend to stay firmly on the board. Famous last words...

Snowball426 · 26/02/2017 17:41

I'm starting to feel maybe, just maybe we are the normal people. X

ZiggertyZaggerty · 26/02/2017 18:07

Thanks Lost! Lunch was great - good friends and fresh air did the world of good. And I only had 2 glasses of wine the whole afternoon Smile
Hi Hoochi - know exactly what you mean about other people being 'normal' I get envious when I see other people doing normal healthy things on a Sunday morning when I'm hanging and hiding my bloodshot eyes
At least we've now all found each other and being able to be honest about our habits to each other is a good start to beat the bastard white-lady cravings x

serialtester · 26/02/2017 18:19

Snow- I agree with that. Nearly every day is a tightrope walk for me. One slip and I'll be totally fucked. Really badly fucked. I think more people than we realise are doing this whether it's fags, booze or coke.

Serial

I look at so many people struggling, Kids, job, partner whatever.

Maybe we all cope in different ways.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 26/02/2017 20:29

All seems to be calm on the surfboard tonight. We're all quite chilled out and reflective. Smile I agree, people from all walks of life struggle with various addictions but still "function" fairly normally to the outside world.

Pleased your lunch went well zig, I'd be stressed cooking for 8 even without a come down!

Been busy getting the kids organised for school after half term. The eldest has suddenly pulled a load of homework out the bag so I've been tutting and lecturing about being more organised Grin

witty Hope you're ok for work tomorrow. Remember, personal brand! Don't cross your arms whatever you do Wink

Surf on surfers.
