So what has everyone been wearing today? How's it all working out? Any blisters?

My new jewelled slides got their first outing to chapel today. How's this for co-ordination: navy blue toes, silver slides, white knee length skirt, navy three quarter sleeve deep v neck tight fitting top, gucci watch (silver chain strap) small diamonds at throat and ears, black handbag with silver buckles!!

Walked a mile in the slides. Were hurting by the end!

Ouch to hurting feet!

3 changes here today - short uniqlo hooded shift at the country park this morning (determined to get legs exposed to sun, overdid it a little ); Sea Folly bandeau top and shorts in garden with the boys and the paddling pool, and now chilling out in Tommy Hilfiger striped sundress from last year.

We went to a school fundraiser last night - stalls and a band. Lots of maxis about which looked great - although a couple of people needed to rethink their underwear

Washed the DP tie-die dress (very gently at 30...) and it has shrunk massively. I'm trying stretching it and it's on the line drying, so fingers crossed.

That jungle print dress looked like cotton on the zoom LTEC.

I missed most of the last thread methinks, while building flat pack furniture (all done!) and making dinner for 10 last night. Am having a lovely evening, as discovered 7/8 bottle of premier cru in the fridge, and have about 1kg of vignarola left over, plus dh away for a whole week since 6am today, so am sitting in the garden (breton top, black shorts and sandals) having a lovely and low effort dinner, dcs asleep.

Yesterday I put on See by Chloe outnet dress and Ibiza sandals, but dress was deffo too short for spring 37yo legs, so put on some black footless tights in the end too.

Where is everyone this evening?? I have ripped said black shorts on the garden fence since last post

Evening - another lovely day - really getting into holiday mode.

Bit worried about ds1 - he's seemed unhappy the last week or so and his behaviour has been very challenging. Upon talking to him today I think he's struggling with friends - his little group are being a bit mean to him but he's finding it hard to break into new groups. So hard when you're only 5 years old and I feel so sad for him.

Was contemplating this top and this maxi but DD wouldn't let me buy for me. I had to go to baby gap and buy for her instead

Tracey my 5yo can be a bit like that too. At least when they're little you can help by inviting children home after school to boost the bonding a bit. I found the advice in "how to talk so children will listen, etc" good as well with mine.

I'm a bit short on shorts really, must get some more. Any recommendations?

I made Italian: involtini di melanzana, spigola sotto sale with vignarola, and a J Oliver tart with mascarpone and raspberries on. It was all OK, though not my most impressive performance by miles. Hey ho. I don't find 10 a good number for dinner, it's too many to talk properly. 6 is much better.

What are you going to wear to the premiere? We go away just as the film comes out and all my friends will see it then so may have to go and see it either alone or with DH - can't really see him being up for that.

I'm 39.5 Roma but they don't do 1/2 sizes so have sized down. They are perfect.

Have a shopping trip planned for Tuesday in Selfridges so may get new shoes . I saw some that would be perfect but they only had them in my height in Paris. Apparently the CL Atelier can make them in any height I want but will add 30% to the cost. What do they think I'm made of money

2 outfits today - the leopard dress and tan glads for a trip to Greenwich this morning - chiefly for dh's benefit as he had not seen me wear the dress yet (typically, he's not so keen - prefers the RI maxi I was in when he got home late last night as it is 'flowier' and plunge-ier. Then into a cheapo but nice sundress I bought in Sydney last year for a barbie in the garden.

tracey that makes me feel all weepy about your ds. I know we've talked about kids and their social struggles before on this thread, makes my heart break Hope he perks up soon. When do you leave for your hols?

I bought both pairs of Bloch in the end - these in black and these with the 30% off Will try for size and may send both back if it turns out they are less spendy back home, which I'm almost positive they are. Mum can stick some in my care package

roman bad luck about the shorts. I don't wear shorts much as more of a dress girl (although am wearing shorts today as it happens) so I just tend to pick up £10/15 high street pairs.

DS still has a gunky eye so we decided not to go to church this morning and smear it over all the creche toys. We did the classic British tacky seaside thing instead and went to Gt. Yarmouth. So much fun! Went down the pier, paddled in the sea, built sand-castles, had chips and doughnuts for lunch and went on funfair rides. Lots of 'meh' kind of outfits but surprisingly few truly inappropriate ones.

Had to come back this afternoon as DD and I go with some others and do a service at a local retirement home. Was very today as we've lost three of our regulars recently and there was a new lady today who was very freaked out by us being there. She didn't know where she was and kept asking if she could phone her husband to come and pick her up as this wasn't her house and she really should go home now. Poor lady

Evening. Just marking my place. Nice day with DSs - went to a forest play area this morning and stayed home this afternoon. I tried to do some gardening whilst DSs pottered round the garden with buckets of sand and water making 'soup'! Another bank holiday here tomorrow so more of the same I expect.
DH phoned from sailing holiday - said its v hot and he had lobster for dinner last night! Hmph!
Would really like/need a new white vest top - put several on today to wear with khaki cargo shorts (restricted to garden area only!)and none looked right. Have a couple of tanks & spaghhetti straps but want a cotton cami type for less clingy/smarter look - I think! Any pointers?

Tracey it's so tough when your DCs are having a hard time. They suddenly seem so little and vulnerable and it becomes harder for us to intervene as most of the issues are going on in the playground. I empathise absolutely because both DS1 and 2 have been there

Roman - second vote here for Zara shorts. I have a couple of pairs of their cuffed shorts (finishing a couple of inches from top of thigh). V flattering and excellent value - around £20 a pair, iirc.

Yesterday we went to the fundraiser and I wore my DP red maxi. I got so many compliments Even DH was amazed (he is rarely taken with clothing unless it has an Agent Provocateur label ). As we were strolling through St Johns Wood he kept saying "look, another chap who can't take his eyes of you!" Anyway, was a lovely and fun evening. DCs had a sleepover with friends so we got to spend sunday morning just the two of us. Took the dog for a long walk in the woods and then came back to a huge breakfast before lounging around in the sunshine with the Observer .

Don't keep in touch with exes but would say hello if I bumped into them (though probably wouldn't cross the street to do so!).

Blossoming, I ended up wearing a DVF dress on Friday night and was glad I did as Hugh Grant was at the next table. I didn't stare but am happy to report that he is ageing well.

We had a lovely day, went with friends to the park and then they came back for dinner. I wore a red DKNY dress today. It is so nice to have some sun!

yes, mum gets here in just over 3 weeks. Dad gets here on Thursday! He leaves on the morning of the day that she arrives (evening) ... close call!! The thought of having to deal with the 2 of them ...

We have the same situation with my PILs. They have been separated since DH was 16. It was a bit tense at our wedding.
