Following on from here

Surely the sun will be out by the end of this thread?

Miu Miu bag is brilliant, gorgeous.

Chloe boots arrived, love them and look great. Now, going to read thread...

reallygrumpy · 01/03/2010 22:06

Wow, has just taken me ages to catch up this thread...

LTEC I liked your musings after shopping in RL. I went shopping today and it just gave me a splitting headache. I did buy lean blazer, green silk top and pink gathered neck top from Whistles using my 25% voucher from Grazia - am struggling to link from the new, improved yet less easy to see what the clothes actually look like Whistles site. Also bought this

hells have you tried mimco for a bag? I only seem to be able to link to the Aussie site but there are shops in Westfield and Kings Rd.

OWW - I'm off to a wedding in Italy in June and was asking if anyone had spotted a suitable frock, thanks for the dress suggestion but I think I want something a little more 'wow'. I'm going to try the All Saints one VerityB linked to. Only prob is that I don't look great in black and I'm not a big fan of grey.

Oh, and I went into Cos today and they have lots of lovely clothes but I'd run out of time so I'll be going back for a longer browse soon.

And I'm contemplating these What do you think? I love all the KG ones that have been linked to but I wouldn't actually be able to walk in any of them.

reallygrumpy · 01/03/2010 22:10

Forgot to say esher miu miu bag is stunning!

bunnymother · 01/03/2010 22:22

Verity - thanks, but I think you mean Blossoming, rather than me re photo of pretty, happy little girl?

Esher - sorry, DH, not bovvered about currency blah blah blah, either. That bag is fab!

Cakey - 5 weeks alone w 3 DCs?!?! You are a bloody marvel for even considering it.

eshermummy · 01/03/2010 22:22

Has anyone got the MW FRIENDS30 code to work?
I have tried but it won't accept it
AMEX25 is still going strong but no joy with 30% off??

CHOOGIRL · 01/03/2010 22:27

HI Esher

Working for me - MYFRIENDS30

The black rats are sitting in my basket. I can't decide. I am 5ft 5 and size 12. Will they suit.. or will I look like a lady of the night?

eshermummy · 01/03/2010 22:33

Thanks Choo - had the code wrong, will try again

Black Rats - I do love mine but have only worn them once so far - I don't think they look hooker-ish I just find it hard to find the right butt covering tops to wear with them. I am also shorter than you and my legs are not my best feature so need to choose footwear carefully - they really need a heel imo and I'm not really a heels person but you should be fine

eshermummy · 01/03/2010 22:39

Successfully ordered these with 30% off. Thanks for the code guys
Am off to bed now so night all

monkeysmama · 01/03/2010 23:06

How long does listing stuff on eBay take? 3hrs & counting!

Night all.

LetThemEatCake · 01/03/2010 23:07

love those esher. Mine are still going strong.

grumpy- tracey ordered those TS clogs and sent them back - apparently they look v. cheap in RL. I was previously tempted too

LetThemEatCake · 01/03/2010 23:17

bunny are these tan sandals any good for you?

LibrasBiscuitsOfFortune · 02/03/2010 07:57

Am very jealous of all of you who can wear ankle straps a la all these clogs and gladiator shoes, just make my legs look like tree trunks. Also had a erm frank discussion with DH about the long cardigan and waterfall cardigans etc and he just doesn't think they suit me, they don't hide my bottom and hips they just make me look larger sigh so I will continue to gaze wistfully from afar (i.e. that lovely jigsaw cardi that reallygrumpy linked to)

monkeysmama - do you mind sharing your ebay name? I much prefer buying from people I know!

esher - lovely hi-tops, converse do some silver ones I am thinking about!

silver converse
but am also loving this animal print converse as well

Marsha - those boots very gorgeous, glad they are a keeper!

hellsbelles · 02/03/2010 08:19

Thanks for the bag links - I'll be doing some serious checking on them all today.

And was desperate to see the esher bag everyone is raving about - and the link seems to have been broken?! Perhaps they thought they were being hacked by the avid thread

bunjies · 02/03/2010 08:50

I also couldn't see the Miu Miu bag being raved about.

Thanks for the tip re the changing bag/work bag looking rubbish in RL. I had a sudden brainwave last night about how changing bags might be the answer to my work bag related issues as they usually have lots of pockets and are nice and roomy inside. So did a search on them and found that site. But if they look shite in RL then that defeats the object.

I like the African Berry sandals you linked to hanaflower.

Bought this top last night in the hope it will hide unsightly bits .

bunnymother · 02/03/2010 09:41

Bunjies - that DVF top looks fab - v flattering neckline, showing lovely collarbones and a little décolletage (chest in Australian speak). Looks like nice light fabric, too (ie doesn't add bulk).

Hells - what do you think of this bag? Assuming the 30% off code still works could be a goodie?

Cakey - score! I really like those tan sandals, thanks for the link!! Will ask DH for a 2nd opinion (he hates shopping, but v good at critiquing internet links). Bummer I found these after the ASOS code expired!!

BTW DH hates the digital print scarf I linked to. Was about to purchase, and idly asked his opinion. V. loud "No" made it fairly clear what he thought...

hellsbelles · 02/03/2010 10:04

bunjies - looks like a good find.

Bunny - I do like it but the colour seems a bit on the orangey side to go with my stuff. I also think I may need to stick to stuff with silver toned hardware. I have one with gold toned and it just doesn't suit me....I have no idea why. I think I'm too much of a scruff to carry off proper blingy gold. Perhaps when I'm more sophisticated it shall all fall into place!

I realise I am in danger of being extremely picky over this - sorry!

Blossoming - have fun at the house of colour! I made a prediction a while back didn't I I wonder if I'll be right!

monkeysmama · 02/03/2010 10:19

Hells I am glad you raised the question of gold/silver. I wear a gold & silver ring everyday but all of my jewellery is silver apart from a few Accessorise style necklaces etc. The bag I use every day is black with 4 gold studs and a small gold Chloè logo & this worries my greatly . It's been ok in winter when big coat and gloves covers up the silver but my main issue is my watch which has a big mans silvery metal strap. Do I need a gold or neutral watch for when I wear gold clothing? I am a little bit obsessed with the kind of thing though & doubt anyone notices.

When I'm not on iPhone will link to me on eBay bit doubt anyone will want the stuff I'm selling tbh. I've put a random selection on to see what sells. So far a topshop maternity denim mini is the only thing provoking interest.

Off to the forest to hunt for crocodiles in
the glorious sunshine with my mum & dd followed by pub lunch. Happy days.

monkeysmama · 02/03/2010 10:28

Ah, how could I forget - my pil came yesterday with dd's great nan (who I adore). She'd had an enema earlier in the day to investigate bowel issues. I thought she should be taken home but pil brought her with. She had an accident in the hallway, mil went crazy with her (a bit out of character), fil was unable to cope with dd for 2 minutes while I tried to help so she runs into hallway and into "accident". Mil walks out. Great nanny cries. Dd cries. Fil has melt down. MM puts Peppa on for dd, dons rubber gloves & cleans gt nanny, hallway, clothing and dd's shoes. I called dp eventually & demanded he come home & deal with them. They're very odd sometimes & after meltdown pretended nothing had happened & chatted away normally staying for tea & until 9pm (I hid with Ebay stuff but had to prepare a meal for 5 with half hour notice of course). And dp & I aren't even married!

bunnymother · 02/03/2010 10:47

Oh MM, poor great nan, how humiliating for her, and doesn't sound like MIL was as sensitive as she could have been. Glad that all was OK in the end. Hope ebay had a little something for you to take the edge off.

bunjies · 02/03/2010 11:01

How distressing MM. I don't know who to feel more sorry for, GN for having the accident, your dd for getting covered in it or you for having to clear it all up. And you had to cook too . You're a saint I tell ya!

On the ebay front, do you have turbo lister downloaded? It does make listing lots of items easier as you can do it in your own time and then upload of the listings at once. You can also copy a listing and use for it something else so you don't have to keep writing the same things like "Smoke free home etc" Anyway, good luck with what you're selling. I've got some stuff on there at the moment too.

traceybath · 02/03/2010 11:11

MM - golly poor you and DD and great nan. Sounds like you coped admirably well though.

Grumpy - as LTEC said I did indeed order those topshop clogs but they've gone back. Very cheap looking, dye all over the wooden bit and the holes on the strap very randomly placed.

In-laws now gone, cleaners been so nice and peaceful.

Am waiting in for DHL man to deliver my Alexander McQueen scarf and then may take youngest two for a walk in the lovely sunshine.

Wore my bargain new look jacket to school this morning and one of the mum's commented I looked about 16!

LTEC - have lost another pound - it must be bf as not eating particularly small amounts at the moment.

MIL - made lots of dark comments about osteoporis and me losing weight

Gap kids have got some very sweet stuff in - am going to get DD a dress there tomorrow and some 'cool' t-shirts for DS!.

Hells - no bikini as yet - what about you? Also where do you get cool t-shirts for your dS from?

Blossoming - hope your colours consultation goes well.

monkeysmama · 02/03/2010 11:23

Tracey what's your jacket like? I am still on the lookout for a denim one & don't want to spend a fortune.

Blossoming hope you enjoy the colour thing today. I'm very interested in it but if they said I shouldn't wear black or grey I'd be lost.

KurtGeiger shoes are good quality IMO. I have dome sky high black long boots which I've had for 6 years and are still in great shape not that they've been worn since dd arrived. I also have some grey high boots from there that (cutting a long story short) were hand delivered to me in London by a shop assistant from Glasgow in the smoke on holiday after they'd messed up my order. Now that's customer service!

GeorginaWorsley · 02/03/2010 11:51

grumpy love that Jigsaw cardigan.

libra I cannot do ankle strap things either,at 5ft 3 I need to 'show' as much leg and foot as possible, ifyswim

hana I am I think probably the only Clark's fan on this thread but now am in 40's I have to be comfortable
Actually, have had some brilliant 'trendy' type shoes from them that always receive compliments.
I linked to these a while ago,but was told 'mumsy'
