Thanks for your messages. You are all so kind.

Enough of the 'tourist' stuff. I'll be in London on Saturday and will be in that category! Actually I did live in London once and know it well. Since I left I think I go back every two months or so.

Because of caring for dc2, my dh would give me one day off every 8 weeks or so to go down. Then he looks after the dcs with my MIL (so I don't have to be there when she visits!)
I have my hair done in daniel hersheson, and have lunch in harvey nicks cafe, then focus on one area or department store. I have to admit that recently that's been john lewis on Oxford Street.
This time I'm thinking of having my boobs measured in rigby and peller as its on the same street as the hairdresser.
Also has anyone been to the dvf shop on bruton st?
I'm scared of going to JL in case I buy another pair of paige jeans! I've recently given myself a sewing project and have cut one pair down to flip-flop length.
What I'm really after is another scarf. I've got the M&S animal print pashminetta, and I love wearing it round the house as it covers my still wobbly tummy. Anyone recommend a long flowy louis vuittonesqe scarf?

Finally as I was flicking through InStyle magazine, the April one, on the 3rd page there's a chanel advert for sunglasses and they are LUSH!!

Off to make welschcakes. Happy St Davids day to you all.

Blossoming, so sorry you lost your lovely little DD. It is hard to imagine what all of you who have lost children went through.

Verity, I love JCrew, must do a search on eBay. Meant to ask you, did you buy the Boden straight leg jeans? I am thinking of getting a pair in white.

My friend is coming over from NY next weekend so she is bringing me over this pink Splendid cardigan. I also ordered a red stripey Whistles top.

carciofi · 01/03/2010 12:47

Blossoming, Lily and Lionel have lovely scarves.

blossoming · 01/03/2010 13:22

Carciofi, you are brilliant. I fancy this one. There really is no need for RL shopping is there?

blossoming · 01/03/2010 13:25

Or maybe this one. Is this the one you've got LTEC?

Just ordered the zebra. P&p quite high.

carciofi · 01/03/2010 14:11

Great scarf, Blossoming. They have good sales so keep an eye out.

traceybath · 01/03/2010 14:26

Blossoming - I am so terribly sorry that your daughter died - I really can not imagine what you must have gone through/continue to go through

Hope you have a lovely time shopping in London though I think Hells posted about liberty doing good scarves online.

OllieWollieWoo · 01/03/2010 15:09

Blossoming - I can only echo whats already been said. Know it sounds v cheesey and its not meant to but thank you for sharing with us.

Your days out sound lovely - just what I do every so often. I return feeling refreshed and relaxed and it never hurts DH to have a reminder of what a day with DC can be like! I can remember us having family days out to London when I was young - my Dad would take us off to a museum etc and my Mum would spend the whole time in John Lewis! She could - and still can - shop in there all day! Suggestions re scarfs - not LV like but I love Viginia Johnson which was linked to a while back here - hope you find a lovely one.

monkeysmama · 01/03/2010 15:12

Blossoming I cried reading your post but also smiled at the love and pride shining through your words about your daughter. I am terribly sorry.

LetThemEatCake · 01/03/2010 15:56

Blossoming, I can't begin to imagine your loss. I, like the others, now have a lovely mental image of a brave, pretty little girl and a brave, beautiful mother. I'm so glad that you have your baby to fill your arms and hours, although I know that one child is never a replacement for another.

On iPhone so will check in and look at links later. Hope you're all enjoying the sunshine

Cakey

OllieWollieWoo · 01/03/2010 15:59

Have uuhmmed and ahhed re posting this dress as I really can't decide if I like it or not! Think if it was an amazing fit on it could be nice - maybe for something like that wedding on the Amalfo coast??? Oh yes, its from Laura Ashley (found it whilst trawling site for new celing lights!)
here

OllieWollieWoo · 01/03/2010 16:02

Sorry - I meant Amalfi coast - must learn how to spell!

bunjies · 01/03/2010 16:51

Blossoming - so to hear about your dd but you sound like you have such happy memories of her. I feel so humbled in the presence of parents like you.

OWW - I like that dress but perhaps with some colourful accessories rather than the ones they recommend like a pink pashmina type thing and shoes.

[I'm sure someone with more fashion nous will be along soon]

LibrasBiscuitsOfFortune · 01/03/2010 17:49

blossoming - your DD sounds as if she was gorgeous and loved.

Suggestion for scarf,I like the Meg Matthews ones at Liberty but that Viginia Johnson one OWW linked to is fantastic.

My HUSH pyjamas came and they are warm and snuggly, hurrah.

My ME&EM scarf cardigan came today and will be going back, it's gorgeous fabric but I think it's a little too old for me (prays she is not offending anyone) and too far removed from who I am IRL. I joined this thread to try new things but think it is a step too far! I would be trying the waterfall version if only there wasn't a £10 delivery charge...

LTEC - how is your travelwrap going? wearing well? is it quite a heavy fabric?

OWW - that dress is nice but that's all IYKWIM.

Blossoming - pretty scarf

OWW - agree with Libra you could find a better dress - have you looked in Comptoir - they've got some gorgeous stuff coming in for spring.

blossoming · 01/03/2010 19:00

Thankyou all once again. I have put her photo up in my profile. Proud mum!
Can't help with links as back on iPhone. A bit nervous about my house of colour appointment tomorrow (as have done some serious spending in feb which is against their advice!) Will report back.

hellsbelles · 01/03/2010 19:20

Oh blossoming - she looks gorgeous and happy (and indeed has a very pretty outfit on!).

Have fun at the house of colour t/m - can't wait to hear what your 'colours' are!

hellsbelles · 01/03/2010 19:29

carcifio - I love that site! And I love the Zebra one (and all the others!!). OWW - I can see what you mean - the dress could look good on. Did you see the one verity linked to yesterday - that was rather lovely (I'm very tempted to be honest - now just need to find an Italian wedding to attend )

LetThemEatCake · 01/03/2010 19:30

blossoming my zebra scarf ain't half so glam; just a £6 ebay jobby from Honkers. Your daughter is so lovely - as are you!. Hope your appt tomorrow goes well.

bunny I know it's not at all the done thing to dislike Carrie Bradshaw but I can't stand her. I'm all about Samantha.

Libra can't praise the travelwrap enough, gorgeous item, so snuggly and luxurious for home or out. Fab for bfing and helping to disguise post-baby lumps and bumps too. I've got one of the little ones for dc3 too. (OT - sorry to use your expertise but does a good solid bounce on the trampoline count as exercise?)

OWW that dress is very understated which is often a god thing. But you can have too much of a good thing, and that dress does

m-w cock-up sorted, AMQ top in S arrived today and it's perfect.

notyummy · 01/03/2010 19:33

blossoming - what a lovely smile she has!

notyummy · 01/03/2010 19:36

Also, been meaning to recommend this top:

pretty blouse

It has little shoulder pads in which means it gives you a flattering taper down to the waist - and the sleeves are long enough to cover upper arm wobble...

I have bought a few bits and pieces from Very and their service is genrally very good. Free returns and they will pick up from the garden shed (or similar) which is great if you are working.

hellsbelles · 01/03/2010 19:38

oh and an admission - I ignored (yes ignored) the wise words of you ladies on the site and ordered the outnet bag. I had visions of it being a gorgeous soft leather and a wonderful bargain at 50% off. I was hoping I would be able to post gleefully about how I was right...

But I wasn't... It's too small, a horrid colour and so-so leather. It's going right back.

Also Cahu - I did go into Kew and couldn't find the bag you linked to. However the ones they had in were lovely soft leather so that bodes well.

If this wasn't so expensive - is this too wag like

I feel like i"ve lost all judgement on bags
