Following on from here

Surely the sun will be out by the end of this thread?

these bangles are lovely, TraceyB. Or did you mean something chunkier?

traceybath · 04/03/2010 14:11

They're lovely Plum - I like thick and thin bangles

Was funny as was in M&S trying on this dress and it did look nice but thought the S&B girls would say it was far too mumsy so called my mum and she's now ordered it.

Oh and I don't think I look young - in fact am worried people think I'm a bit muttony

traceybath · 04/03/2010 14:25

LTEC - I must confess I also saw your clip on youtube but felt a bit wrong viewing it - like I was snooping or something . But rest assured you are stunning - can I now drop into casual conversaion 'my mate the film star' .

Oh and I went into KG and looked at those suede shoes you linked to a while back and the suede didn't look that fab to be honest.

Oh, also tried potential dress for wedding on but too mumsy I think.

God - I am going so mutton - I'll end up in miss selfridge/jane norman at this rate . Must remember I am a 37 year old mother of three.

hellsbelles · 04/03/2010 14:27

Tracey - the bikini hasn't reached me yet - I'm so used to things arriving within a couple of days I htink this is really bad. I'm going to ring too.

PCPlumIsMyHomeboy · 04/03/2010 14:39

Just taken delivery of my ebay Frye boots

Ther are actually a bit small, but will try them with some boots stretcher spray and see if they can grow a bit, as I do really like them. If not, back on the 'Bay they go!

hellsbelles · 04/03/2010 14:53

Tracey - how weird is this? I rung and she said their normal delivery time is 2-3 working days...but she would check and call me back...she then called to say that my 'Heidi Klein' order had been delivered a while back (I had ordered a Heidi Klein bikini directly from Heidi Klein). So they are obviously the same company!

Anyway - they have no sign of the club bb one on their system and when I logged into my account there is no history of an order . And of course they've sold out in my size now! Pissed off. I said my 'friend' had ordered and also hadn't received anything. I bet they had something wrong with their website that day. On the positive side she said that they are adding a lot of new stuff soon.

monkeysmama · 04/03/2010 15:27

Hey

Just back from a refreshing sunny trip to the park, cleaner's been so house is tidy, dd's asleep next to me holding me leg , dp's out late so planning a Japanese takeaway and bottle of wine. Bliss.

Cakey hope they fix your dragonfly quickly. Maybe it was offended by your new arrival? I ordered several pairs of Brora cashmere wrist warmers too which arrived yesterday. I wanted to get two more pairs but they're back up to full price now it seems.

Had several other deliveries today all for dd. We bought her two new pairs of shoes at the weekend and she wore the silver boots to the park earlier and kept saying "look me scarpe" to the other LOs ("shoes" in Italian) and waving her foot about. She is so my daughter .

I have made a few eBay purchases. I've been selling (or trying to) things this week and have been drawn in to it. I got a Zara coral vest for a fiver inc p&p which is a bargain as I almost bought it a few weeks ago in rl and they didn't have my size. Am also the proud owner of a Next maxi dress. I do not like Next usually but it looks good - animal print with a decent strap and looks like it'll cover my ample bosom.

Hells I saw a very similar bag in Topshop last week and almost bought it. It's a bit darker, more tan than the one you linked to. Ah, now I've found it to link to I've realised it might not be that similar. It looks a lot more expensive than it is in rl. I think I might buy it now . How annoying about your & Tracey's BB orders. Lucky neither of you needed them in a rush. I saw some nice bikinis in my sister's Bravissimo catalogue I am going to take a peek at - probably best for a chest that needs the help mine does.

Tracey I think that dress looks a little mumsy. You linked to a cream Reiss one a few days ago and while it just showed all the Reiss dresses there were two cream ones that were both beautiful and I would imagine would look stunning on you. Can you wear cream to a wedding?

Plum I really like those boots.

I am off to decorate my face with more eyebrow powders. I look a bit like a clown atm .

notyummy · 04/03/2010 15:38

Agree tracey - M and S and Jigsaw dresses both a bit mumsy IMHO.

What are your good and bad bits? What sort of shape are you looking for?

monkeysmama · 04/03/2010 15:44

Anyone like this? I really like it.

traceybath · 04/03/2010 16:03

MM - I like that top and sounds like you've done well with purchases.

Notyummy - I'm small (5ft and a small size 8 bottom but have boobs) - slim fitting stuff suits me best. In fact the dresses I linked to suit me shape wise - sort of wrap or shift type. Don't/Can't do belted dresses as have no waist and nothing voluminous.

Hells - apparently they are out of stock of what I ordered so goodness knows why they sent me an order despatched email! Will keep an eye out though for new stock.

blossoming · 04/03/2010 16:26

That vest wouldn't be for me Monkeysmama, but have you seen this on your travels. I think it's lovely, and it's in my basket. I think autograph is great this season.

JamInMyWellies · 04/03/2010 16:32

Hi,

not had a chance to read properly today but have a question for you all. It should possibly be in good housekeeping but I reckon you lot with your bag knowledge will be able to help me. I have some quite gorgeous bags from pre DC a few Marc Jacobs BCBG etc much as I love them they are looking a wee bit tatty. They are all leather from the soft buttery type to more structured but they are filthy what do you reckon I could use to clean them? I did wonder about sofa leather cleaner??

Also PC I love Frye boots have had mine for about 5yrs and they are still going strong.

Happy Anniversary LTEC. We have only been married for about 5wks. So a while to go before I can start asking for pressies.

Matilda a kettle blimey if DH does that to me I may well wrap the cord round his neck.

Monkeys quite like that top.

LetThemEatCake · 04/03/2010 16:49

am so impressed with all the shopping!! tracey how are you managing these RL visits - do have the 2 youngest both with you? mm your ebay haul sounds good. Hope your stuff sells well. I've made about £600 in the last few months which isn't bad. I have to stagger it though as the listing process bores me silly. I like that ASOS top.

tracey I want to look for a white dress for you, what purpose is it to be for?

have decided to ditch the whole canvas tote thing and buy a cheap one from primark or similar that i can trash over the course of the season and not feel bad about throwing away. I will be back to cloth nappies in spring so it seems a bit to be lugging dirty nappies around in a spendy bag.

And on the shoe front, am buying the red espadrilles only. I love the idea of wearing a heel wooden o otherwise - in the day but know that in reality I'd revert to trainers or flats. Espadrilles a good, jaunty compromise

Romanarama · 04/03/2010 17:05

what are rats?

LetThemEatCake · 04/03/2010 17:07

rats

LetThemEatCake · 04/03/2010 17:10

ugh.
It's that time of the afternoon where I really crave sweet stuff and the dcs start to drive me mad. I really should go be going out to run, if there were anyone around to watch them for half an hour.

I've just had a coffee, an apple and a handful of sultanas. And she was STILL HUNGRY

traceybath · 04/03/2010 17:14

LTEC - I do indeed take the 2 youngest in the phil&teds. Arthur who is just 2 is fab and happily munches on a rice cake and has a nap - bea on the other hand - lets just say shopping is not her idea of fun so I have to be very quick and stop frequently for feeds.

Right - white dress - just fancy something fairly casualish but pretty. Can do halter neck too.

Have just made myself a latte to combat the 5pm energy dip.

Right - do we think the comments I'm getting from school mums about looking like a different person/21 etc mean I'm looking mutton??

LetThemEatCake · 04/03/2010 17:18

such sweet names your dcs have. Can I be nosey and ask what ds1 is called?

NO it does not mean you look like mutton!! It means that you look fab and that they are full of jealous admiration.

LetThemEatCake · 04/03/2010 17:19

although in the absence of a profile pic it's hard to say ...

ha!! I can well imagine. You know what my dcs are called don't you? So you can imagine the reactions I've had from the PiLs

last one, we rang to say that he'd been born and what he was called. Her reaction? "oh dear .. that's a bit jewish. What a shame."

blossoming · 04/03/2010 17:58

I sympathize. I raided a forgotten party bag yesterday.

bunnymother · 04/03/2010 18:07

Tracey - 37 years old is NOT mutton. Elle McP, Claudia S, Helena C and Cindy C are all older than you and have children and I would not use the term mutton for them. They are seriously hot and stylish. Think maybe you need to think of what would [Claudia / supermodel of choice] where to the wedding. The Jigsaw dress is too mumsy for my taste. Very wide straps at the top.

PCP - love those Red bangles, they are lovely!

Cakey - I also have a silver dragonfly but bought it in Camden Passage from a market stall so def not Alex Monroe! Got the cashmere gloves from Oliver Bonas. Wore them to the playground today (that's how we roll, ladies...) and were v warm. Also, as have v small hole were reduced to £4 from £30 (cringing at just how cheap I sound...).

MM - commiserations at the missing eyebrows. Just "colour in" the gaps till they grow back, and put a hex on that fool and all her kin. Thanks for the links to the Topshop bags, I really like them!

Roman - how v frustrating that you haven't got that job yet, but (as my dad always says about such things) you only need the one. Am seriously worried about the job market when I (eventually) go back, esp if someone as sterling as you hasn't been snapped up within seconds.

Re meals - I only have 1 DD who is almost 9 months' old, and quite the PFB. So, I play a lot of The Wiggles (Australian childrens' entertainers) and she just gazes at the TV while she / we shovel the food in. She is a fussy eater so needs all the distraction we can throw at her.

Have just finished a Milo (am baffled, I tell you, baffled why I can't lose the last of the baby weight ). Tescos in Angel, Islington sell Milo if there are any other Aussies on this thread. Not that I would cross London for Milo. That would be silly. My hairdresser on the other hand...

PCPlumIsMyHomeboy · 04/03/2010 18:08

Funny! MIL told me that DS's name is 'very Jewish'. And then sniffed disapprovingly.

DH has just told me we've been invited to the Royal Enc at Ascot. It's not normally my bag, but think it might be quite fun. And of course, there will be the matter of a frock. Oh, and shoes. And a HAT!

bunnymother · 04/03/2010 18:12

Cakey - "that's a bit Jewish. What a shame". WTF!?!? I would have been gropable. Our baby is called Cordelia (Delie for short), decided a week after she was born, when we sent an email saying "This is her name, we hope you like it. If you don't like it, we are sure you will come to like it". End of discussion. Am sure it was greeted with [hmmm] and thoughts of "pretentious, much?", but fortunately no one actually said anything to us.
