BTw, Nails Inc shade similar to elusive 505 is 'Jermyn Street'...rather like the name...

DolceeBanana · 04/03/2010 12:12

Must go feed me hearties...ooh how's weaning going LTEC? We are usually on two meals but DD just refused sweet potato and apple (she seemed to like before!) as she was too tired! So guzzled bottle instead!

DolceeBanana · 04/03/2010 12:12

Oh well... catch you later

LetThemEatCake · 04/03/2010 12:18

Hi ladies .. not 'doing'anniversary until weekend as dh working today - left at 6, will be home around 11

However, by dint of combining various discount codes and gift certificates, I just bought myself the seahorse necklace for a measly £60 or so. A nice way to celebrate our beach wedding of 5 years ago. Or at least, that's my justification.

quite fancy wearing it with Breton top, red espadrilles and straight leg jeans - that'll work for a clean-cut but not-too-preppy look won't it?

DB weaning going okay but it is so hard to give bub my full attention with the other 2 around!! also conscious that he may be affected in his eating habits by the constant conflict at mealtimes with the poor behavior of the other two and the shrieking shrew mother ...

blossoming · 04/03/2010 12:23

LTEC I know what you mean about the shrieking shrew mother. Why is that they have to see the worst side of us, and that dhs and mils etc get to be sweetness and light all the time. (Possibly leaving us to pick up the pieces).
Every time I make a conscious effort to not shriek and shout, dc1 does something that elicits it once again. Hard life.

Lily and Lionel zebra print scarf is gorge.

Fleecy · 04/03/2010 12:26

Ooh I love that Reiss stripe dress but after buying lots in Feb I am planning another month off this month.

hana didn't you have a cobalt blue top from Oasis recently? It had some detail in the folds but not a lot? Or am I getting confused with someone else? It stuck in my mind because I thought it was lovely!

I used to smoke a lot - gave up in Jan 2003, three months before we got married, so I didn't spend my wedding day wanting a ciggy! I didn't touch them again until after having the DC. I'm sorry to say I do occasionally indulge on a night out. Twice this year so far...

But I always wear sunscreen, so that's okay, right?

DolceeBanana · 04/03/2010 12:30

Necklace sounds lovely - and great outfit combo - my kinda look. As you say clean cut but not like you tried too hard!

Know exactly what you mean re the conflict. I try hard not to be the screaming banshee mummy but its hard when you've got kids marauding...they really egg each other on! Its become a bit of an armageddon here at mealtimes with DS (eldest)coming over all babyish and wanting to be fed, or else little goes in, and DD using her hands to eat everything, and then getting bolognaise etc. all over herself and kitchen in general...the baby is better! Plus they squawk and scream through the whole thing...but hey ...we love it don't we. I firmly believe that kids do ultimately keep you young, although you might feel like you've aged 10 years!! Maybe its the fact that the lack of general grooming is less ageing? Ha ha

LetThemEatCake · 04/03/2010 12:35

is the universe trying to tell me something??

minutes after purchasing seahorse, I broke my silver Alex Monroe dragonfly
Which was last anniversary's present

LetThemEatCake · 04/03/2010 12:40

glad the scarf is gorge blossoming!! tracey I meant to say - you have really hit the jackpot in going under target weight and looking younger. Usually I get told I look "tired" or, by some honest friends "haggard". I have a face that needs some of my arse on it

bunnymother · 04/03/2010 12:42

No no no Cakey - take gorgeous dragonfly to jeweller for emergency CPR!

Re Monsoon dress - I think its lovely, very beachy and pretty.

Bought some silver ballet flats from Gap yesterday - I recommend! £25, comfy and v pale silver (hate the alfoil colour shoes).

Also, Gap have some black patent leather T bar flip flops IYKWIM that are £30 and also look comfy (padded base whereas most are just plain leather)

Also bought long black cashmere gloves, mmmmm, cashmere...

Hmm, re Boden glads, wonder if I could get my big normal lady sized feet into the bronze ones? Will have a think...

hellsbelles · 04/03/2010 12:45

morning all,

Happy Anniversary LTEC? I have a dragonfly necklace!!! (twilight zone music playing the in the background). Love the seahorse but it would be too weird if I got that as well.

So sorry yours has broken. I wonder if they would replace it. Broken after 1 year isn't great.

I'm going to celebrate the speedy arrival of my credit cards with the lionel and lily zebra scarf!

Fleecy · 04/03/2010 12:46

Oh ltec is it fixable?

VerityBrulee · 04/03/2010 12:48

Really quick post to say I saw tiny gold glads in Monsoon for Esher

Happy anniversary LTEC

Must look at that link for coat!

When mine were little and mealtimes were chaos, I used to read stories at mealtimes, kept everyone relatively quite, static and more inclined to eat, or perhaps that's my rose tinted memory!

I hope it's sunny where you are, amazing how just a little sun can transform your life

OP posts:
hellsbelles · 04/03/2010 12:57

didn't mean to add the '?'

LetThemEatCake · 04/03/2010 13:21

oh, they were really sweet - going to fix it for me and totally understood why I was doubly upset re the coincidence of timing!!

hells do you have the same necklace??? Definitely think a celebratory purchase is in order for your cards!

am wondering whether I need to invest in a weaning wardrobe Am covered in cr*p.

VB we do quizzes at mealtimes. The right answer means you take a mouthful. I do game-show host styley voice, the dcs love it. DD just being tricky with food at the mo and taking ages to eat which I just don't have time for when I dealing with all 3 of them! I've bee resorting to the "right then, we're out of time, that's all you get" thing a bit but really couldn't send her to nursery this morning on an empty stomach ...

bunny where did you get gloves from?? I am awaiting the delivery of about 7 pairs of Brora wristwarmers .. in the sale for £15 so I stocked up for gifts..

LetThemEatCake · 04/03/2010 13:25

re smoking - yes as a teenager (so like a pack a week max prob) but ditched it in my early 20s. Never touch them now.

Wine & coffee are my vices. Speaking of which ...

hellsbelles · 04/03/2010 13:25

That's great LTEC - so glad they were good about it. Mine is silver, but yes it is the same!

Attempted celebratory purpose but my card wouldn't work and had to use DH's The bank assure me there is nothing wrong and to just keep trying

Actually - just realised that is an excuse to do a little more shopping

LetThemEatCake · 04/03/2010 13:30

mine is silver too!!

LibrasBiscuitsOfFortune · 04/03/2010 13:33

Hello, not caught up as trying to be good and finishing article before letting myself be sucked in here, but I remember someone mentioning White Company and I have found a 20% offer enter code SPG10 when prompted at the checkout, valid to 8th March.

hellsbelles · 04/03/2010 13:34

oh dear - when we do have the S&B meet up we shall have to have one of those 'I'm wearing this blah blah' to ensure we don't go matchy matchy . At least our OP's aren't the same!

I know I'm rubbish on bags...but I do like this here if only it was leather not suede and about 1/4 of the price . I don't know why but I'm drawn to studs at the moment!

LetThemEatCake · 04/03/2010 13:35

those of you on FB - become a fan of Splendid; it seems to entitle you to various and occasional discounts and free shipping etc

hellsbelles · 04/03/2010 13:39

thanks! I like their stuff.

Right better go do some work.

blossoming · 04/03/2010 13:56

LTEC, can I suggest an apron?

traceybath · 04/03/2010 13:58

Afternoon ladies - I've been to real life shops as returning stuff.

Happy Anniversery LTEC - I've got the baby bee necklace on my wish list for mother's day.

Right - for those seeking a top to go with your black rats - whistles have got a lovely grey studded long t-shirt - can't link though as their website is so rubbish.

Hells - has your bikini arrived - mine hasn't! Am going to chase them today. Kew had got the bags and the first one would definitely go over shoulder as is much bigger than I thought.

I'm going to get creative and dye a bag - its an Anya Hindmarch one and a lovely shape but its gold - I know what was I thinking. So have ordered navy leather dye and am going to experiment.

Bought a nice kaftany top in H&M for holiday - £10 in the sale.

Also bought these shoes which are much nicer in reality and a lovely navy colour.

MM - nightmare regarding eyebrows - can you fill them in with pencil at all? Also gap and jigsaw had nice denim jackets.

Gap doing 30% off next week for VIP members.

Right - I want some wooden/antique gold looking bangles - anyone seen any anywhere? Thanks

Right - need to hoover.
