Surely the sun will be out by the end of this thread?

Isn't it Traceybath - so much for my no spend March???!!!! Can I justify it by saying that Mothers Day is coming up???!!!! I think so!

bunnymother · 02/03/2010 16:51

OWW - sounds like an awesome mothers' group! Wish I knew one like that.

No comments on this Supertrash dress?

LetThemEatCake · 02/03/2010 17:12

bunny I like the style of the dress; the colours aren't good for me though .... I dunno, it looks a bit messy somehow?

traceybath · 02/03/2010 17:20

Bunny - I love that camilla and marc dress but my budget is not that generous.

Not sure about the supertrash dress - I like the shape but then I do generally find my-wardrobe don't style their stuff very well.

I'm hankering after a pretty white dress - anyone seen any on their travels?

LetThemEatCake · 02/03/2010 17:28

also bunny, I think it would look better under a jacket which is all very well but a dress should be able to stand alone iyswim. Especially bc it's going to be so hot this summer

LibrasBiscuitsOfFortune · 02/03/2010 17:30

blossoming - how did your house of colour appointment go?

monkeysmama - I obsess about the same thing re:jewellery colour and you're right I don't think anyone notices, saying that I have taken a deep breath and tried to be more relaxed about it recently and actually combining gold and silver can work. re: the poo incident, your poor GN and DD, you were much more calm and collected about it than I would have been.

tracey others have said, far more diplomatically what they think of that DVF dress. I would like to look as Stylish as sara cox does there when NOT pregnant! Loving her stripey top will have to keep a look out for preg one.

LTEC think those shoes are fab. It bloody well better not be hot this summer. purely selfish reasons.OWW sounds like a great mums group!

hells - link to sunglassses please.

bunny I am not a fan of strapless dresses, I think most women look like they are on the verge of pulling them up the whole time. However I do like that print. Loving this from Grazia this week. Unique in topshop.

Cool stuff for boys - I don't know about cool but I love boden and gap for boys, they do other colours apart from blue or sludge green, which seems to be the supermarket/mothercare/m&s forte. mini boden in the sale is great value as it lasts so well.

Can I have a yay or nay on these please no need to be diplomatic.

blossoming · 02/03/2010 17:49

Hi all, just running in and out before my evening class.
Haven't caught up yet just read a few of the morning posts.
The gold/silver thing? It depends on your colours!!!!!!
Will report fully later, but I'm winter so can wear black, slate, navy and white plus silver, platinum and diamonds. Yipee!!

LetThemEatCake · 02/03/2010 17:53

sorry Libra, nay from me on the Converse, but then I am an Ash fan

meant to say, re cardis for cold weather preg/ post natal I have the Isabella Oliver cable cosy and it is fabulous. Seems to have sold out now - could only find it on this blog but might be worth keeping an eye on ebay

tracey I have the most perfect white dress by Leona Edmiston. Sorry to bang on, but willow and lover are good for this sort of thing. Will keep an eye out - an you do halter?

LetThemEatCake · 02/03/2010 17:55

all of those Anthropologie links are just taking me to the home page, argh!!

LetThemEatCake · 02/03/2010 18:01

the thing about those shoes I linked to is that are a bit high. And they have a few studs And are sold out in my size

these on the other hand .. cone heel, check. Wooden, check. Gladiatorial, check.

Waybuloo goes on, LTEC goes shopping.

LetThemEatCake · 02/03/2010 18:04

no no wait, I can't - need at least one Wise & Avid second opinion

Oh, and LOL at all of the sartorially switched-on dcs. My dd watched me pityingly as I faffed around with clothes this morning and finally said "I think you'd better just wear your purple (ie Tam Tam) dress mum". Er, okay then.

Libra you need to get your hands on one for next winter, the are nothing short of a bfing miracle.

traceybath · 02/03/2010 18:05

LTEC - I really like those ones. We are also watching waybuloo.

PCPlumIsMyHomeboy · 02/03/2010 18:15

LOL at your DD, LTEC. Think she's about the same age as mine, they are very funny sometimes.

Afraid I have reservations about the Nine Wests great style/colour etc, but the leather looks a bit cheap-as is often the case with Nine West. Sorry!

OllieWollieWoo · 02/03/2010 18:25

LTEC - re Anthropologie links - mines was the Alfresco bag and the Libras choice was the Here-there-everywhere bag.

Blossoming - looking forward to a colours update - my Mum has been nagging for years to get mine done!

OllieWollieWoo · 02/03/2010 18:28

I love the Nine West shoes btw.

traceybath · 02/03/2010 18:46

Actually LTEC I think I prefer these in the pink.

The heel is better for day to day wear I think.

LibrasBiscuitsOfFortune · 02/03/2010 19:05

LTEC sorry do you mean the cardigan or the Tam Tam dress (all I can find for Tam Tam is on asos and is lingerie, beach wear!)

tracey those shoes are nice.

teafortwo · 02/03/2010 19:21

'ello gorgous shoppers - long time no see!!!

I must admit I am COMPLETELY afraid of clicking on any links above because you lot ALWAYS make me fall in love with clothes that are either a bit daft for my lifestyle or very daft for my purse .

LTEC - I am completely in love with the boots that you made me encouraged me to buy on an earlier thread and I am still dreeeeaaaaming of monkeymama's Cambridge Satchel - it is on my birthday list!

So I wondered if you lovely ladies could help me out on somethingelse... I am getting my haircut tomorrow... any ideas what I should do with it?

Basically I live in France but my French is a bit dodgy and a few haircuts ago something was lost in translation and I ended up getting a crop. I thought I had asked for a trim. EEEEEEEEEEeeeek - Apparantly it was V on trend for ladies of my age (30) but actually ended in several days of sobbing on mn because I looked like Eddie Izzard. I LOVE Eddie but didn't feel comfortable looking like him esp for my sister's wedding .

It is growing out now and I need to think of what to do with it to look fantastic OK while long short/short mid-length. Any ideas are V welcome from you lovely yummy style laaaydies .

Thanks x

aarghhelp · 02/03/2010 19:26

I am prob not going to buy as I do not see these fitting in with a country/driving/toddler wrangling lifestyle. But I like these

teafortwo · 02/03/2010 19:30

aarghhelp - they are rather lovely. I have seen some around that are lower and better for Mumlife BUT it is the heel that makes them so lovely. Sans heel doesn't seem to work so well....

LibrasBiscuitsOfFortune · 02/03/2010 19:34

I.Am.An.Idiot. The Asos code has expired.

t42 does it need the risk of a cut?

arggh sorry don't like them.

teafortwo · 02/03/2010 19:36

Libra - YES yes yes!!! - I last had it cut early December... it is a bit on the messy side now to say the least!

reallygrumpy · 02/03/2010 19:43

Hello,

I'm still hunting for a dress for the wedding in Italy. Like the All Saints one someone linked to earlier but really like this. I think it would probably make my hips look huge but I love the colour. Views please!

BTW this thread is a fab distraction from daily stresses which at the mo include living with PIL while we buy a house from an estate agent who is totally crap at returning phone calls!!

notyummy · 02/03/2010 19:47

reallygrumpy - nice dress. What size and shape are you?

hellsbelles · 02/03/2010 19:49

There will be no spending for me this week my bloody wallet was stolen - probably as I left Gap. Gutted. It was a lovely wallet - a red smythson (present) and I had taken out cash so it's goodbye to that and about 30 mins wasted trying to cancel cards (which will probably take about a week to be reissued). Serves me right - I was doing that sort of 'I feel great' thing that usually comes before a fall.

However...I was cheered A LOT by the arrival of the truely fab swan tee that LTEC recommended. I LOVE IT. And DH raised his eyebrows thinking it was very expensive and I was thrilled to be able to no - actually quite a bargain (for once).

Libras - alas no link to sunglasses - I actually got them in RL (though I will have a look and see if I can find them online). I do not have a face that suits sunglasses (great i hats - shite in sunglasses) so if I ever find a pair that is remotely good I am compelled to buy it! DD did laugh a lot when I wore them out and about today. Not sure if that is a good thing

Blossoming - we are winter twins then imho all the best colours are winter ones
