Boiled wool coat- disappointing and going back- size 10 is generous- sleeves are long and I don't like the funnel neck- makes me look as if I have no neck at all. The wool is soft though not scratchy.

Cashmere cropped cardi- nice except they have sent me the wrong colour wanted grape and got damson ( almost navy if that's what you want)- sending replacement.

Merino tunic in grey- looks good yet to try on.
Sixties mini ( longer length) wool is quite scartchy and have yet to try.

Velvet jeans- yet to try- suspect I will need to lose 4lbs as gradually expanding from a 10 to a 12 and don't want to be depressed!

I thought the paintbox henley in navy too, but whilst it's quite nice, just seems quite dull somehow. And the cuffs are quite irritating. So sent it back.
Double layered henley in great (big norks) have ordered another!
Urban mac in black seems wonderful but huge so ordered another size but 12 week wait now. Why didn't I order 2 at once, will learn next year.
Anyone tried the ditsy floral double layer top, wasn't quite sure about it but really like patterned tops and it would be warm?

Oumasrusks · 17/08/2009 20:38

I have the ditsy floral top and love it. I think it's good quality and it really is double-layered, not just mock layered. The material is really soft. I saw some reviews didn't like the colour of the flowers (more beige than white) but I think they are fine.

accessorizequeen · 17/08/2009 20:52

ooh, thanks! I liked the green and brown, thought the pink might clash with my red hair.

MegBusset · 17/08/2009 21:01

Has anyone got the cloudspotter mac?

MegBusset · 17/08/2009 21:13

Also how warm is the urban mac? is it meant for slight autumn chill or midwinter freeze?

accessorizequeen · 17/08/2009 21:18

I'd say warm enough for all but real winter freezing days (with layers underneath of course). But then I've never owned one before.

ADifferentMe · 17/08/2009 21:25

Enormous box arrived today, once again going back tomorrow but [relieved]

Cashmere cropped cardigans are beautiful colours and quality but too cropped and don't like three quarter length sleeves in winter. Wish they'd do a normal length.

Inverted pleat skirt lovely, as is sailor hoodie.

BadgersArse · 18/08/2009 12:38

urban mac for me will be shopping and running to school mac

NOT watchign rugby

CybilLiberty · 18/08/2009 12:41

Do any of you lot leave comments on their site...because they all seem to be positive and from people who buy 'at least 5 times a year' Some of them personally thank Johnnie! Ha

purplepeony · 18/08/2009 13:08

I leave a comment everytime I buy and yes, it is prob about 3-4 times a year.
Now the star rating is graded- from good to bad.

I find other people's commetns helpful, especially re.sizing- ie up or down a size.

Earlier this year I ordered the straight leg cropped denims and decided to get a size 12 ( shock- am always a 10 and was once an 8) on the basis of the reviews, as they were TINY and all other reviewers said the same.

Oumasrusks · 18/08/2009 13:54

I leave comments on everything I buy. I find other people's comments so helpful that I leave them too.

FrameyMcFrame · 20/08/2009 12:33

Hi, this is a usefull thread!

Have just got the Henley knitted dress in red and love it!

Am thinking about the effortless velvet coat in brown and the ruched waist shift in black as I need a black dress.

MorrisZapp · 20/08/2009 13:14

I haven't had an Autumn catalogue sent out to me yet. Are you all ordering online, or did you get the catalogue and I didn't?

MaybeAfterBreakfast · 20/08/2009 13:27

Have ordered online, but I've had lots of autumn catalogues, and a winter one too (identical clothes, different cover).

MorrisZapp · 20/08/2009 13:47

Gah! They are blackballing me

Ruby, I'm 5'9 and the long was (for once) easily long enough to regular should be fine. Actually looking forward to cold weather so I can wear it.

What's the sleeve length like on the biker jacket? I found last year's much too short and wondered whether to try again.

FrameyMcFrame · 21/08/2009 15:40

Ruby, the regular sits ever so slightly below the knee on me and I am almost 5.4. It's v flattering dress on and the colour is lovely

FaithinQuestion · 21/08/2009 23:13

what do you think ladies of the Patent slouch bag?
I am drawn to the milk chocolate colour or maybe the navy/inky blue. I dont have any navy at all in my wardrobe, but I do have last seasons bright green mac.

What do you think will go better?

Clary · 22/08/2009 00:24

luuuurve this thread!

BA I too have orderd the urban mac and like it.

(So do lots of other ppl on the site).

Note that the black is now an 11-wk wait. Boden don't often do black do they but people like it!

I tried to order this last yr but it was a daft wait in both green and red. The spring one was baggy and unflattering but this winter one seems OK - not shaped per se but also somehow not a sack. Or maybe I'm just fatter

Whatever, got a 12 and it fits nicely. I needed a nice bright colour (none of yr black nonsense here) but couldn't quite face the orange (have nothing orange) so I got the purple and green which is actually quite muted...apart from the pattern.

Not sure whether to keep it or not. Hood v useful surely on school run?

MrsSeanBean · 22/08/2009 09:25

Parisienne T last year was a disaster, was hoping would be better this year but sounds not.

Velvet super spot skirt is nice but not overly generous.

I hear Boden are considering introducing their own MN style forum - what fun!?

paddingtonbear1 · 22/08/2009 09:33

Just read some of this thread as I was tempted by the Henley dress, I might order it now!

I like LadyofWaffle's comment from 12th Aug:
"Oh dear, I wanted the cord jacket but I don't want to look like Paddington! Is it very red? Will I look like horse rider/hunter? Does anyone have it in green?"

maybe I should order that
