Boiled wool coat- disappointing and going back- size 10 is generous- sleeves are long and I don't like the funnel neck- makes me look as if I have no neck at all. The wool is soft though not scratchy.

Cashmere cropped cardi- nice except they have sent me the wrong colour wanted grape and got damson ( almost navy if that's what you want)- sending replacement.

Merino tunic in grey- looks good yet to try on.
Sixties mini ( longer length) wool is quite scartchy and have yet to try.

Velvet jeans- yet to try- suspect I will need to lose 4lbs as gradually expanding from a 10 to a 12 and don't want to be depressed!

oysterpots, but Boden stuff is very kiddiefied, I think it would be more a case of not wanting to dress your 14 yo like a 2 yo.

I think this is why lots of the big sizes end up in the sale.

oysterpots · 05/08/2009 15:41

Even more reason to split it into babies/toddlers/pre-school and then 6-14 or something!

joliejolie · 09/08/2009 12:11

I agree WhereTheWildThingsWere , There are some things that my dd would never wear. Especially some of the applique tops with teapots and cupcakes!

BodenGroupie · 09/08/2009 13:32

Conversely, my 13 yr old loves the cupcake stuff. Her taste in clothes hasn't yet caught up with her figure and height - in some ways a relief .

joliejolie · 09/08/2009 16:43

I think that is nice. I went into town today and I cannot believe what some shops are trying to get us to dress our young dd's in.
I want my little girl to stay a little girl for as long as possible.

aarghhelp · 09/08/2009 17:35

I got the uptown trousers in black and am planning to keep them. They're not cheap, but very useful to have a pair of smartish, black trousers that fit reasonably well.

MayorNaze · 09/08/2009 17:38

i am now waiting for the lustrous patent boots in pink mulberry...ooh i am ridiculously excited!!!

TheRealMrsJohnSimm · 11/08/2009 23:13

Just returned from my holiday to find the beautiful Ruched Waist Shift Dress waiting for me . I ordered it in moss and it is gorgeous. I absolutely love it. The sleeves are a tad tighter than I would like but have a feeling that the next size up would be far too loose everywhere else.

Cannot recommend it enough

Swedes · 11/08/2009 23:23

I'm waiting for

Velvet coat in rhubarb
Velvet spot skirt in slate/black

For dd
Big Button dress in Dusty Aqua floral

LadyOfWaffle · 12/08/2009 11:17

Oh dear, I wanted the cord jacket but I don't want to look like Paddington! Is it very red? Will I look like horse rider/hunter? Does anyone have it in green?

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 12/08/2009 11:22

Parisienne Tee, very underwhelming, thin fabric and very boxy, has gone back.

BodenGroupie · 12/08/2009 11:51

Velvet coat came up really small on me.

Cord trench coat was enormous - really should have downsized but can't be bothered.

Both velvet and cord blazers were too short on me and too tight across the bust.

BadgersArse · 12/08/2009 12:44

swedes are you sure about the rhubarb dshade? why do boden love it so

Swedes · 12/08/2009 12:59

Goods arrived this morning.

Velvet coat in rhubarb
Colour horrible. Not as rich and deep-pink lovely as it looks in the pics more a faded orangey red. Not at all nice. Quality of velvet is poor, lightweight and not nearly so good quality as 2007 velvet coats. Cut is frumpy. I much prefer the flared cut of the old ones. It's going back.

Velvet spot skirt in slate/black
Quality of velvet thin and horrible and skirt not lined so would ride up.

I also ordered a pink/white stripe boy's shirt and it's gorgeous. Still waiting for big button dress for DD.

joliejolie · 13/08/2009 18:37

I sent my painbox henley in navy back. I just did not like the navy colour (looked cheapish) and the others colours are not me. I have swapped for a few of the plain v-necks.

Bettymum · 17/08/2009 12:03

LoW, the red cord jacket is very...red. And the cord is very chunky. I loved the colour but it was all just too bulky on me - big cord, big buttons - and the elbow patches were really obvious. Shame.
I have also now tried the Soho jacket (sticks out at the front in a weird triangular fashion) and the Brondesbury blazer (wanted to love it but somehow not right, again very bulky). I ordered 10's they were fine at the shoulders so I think an 8 would be too small. Oh well, I have saved all that money by sending them back!

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 17/08/2009 12:09

joliejolie can you report on the v-necks when they arrive?

I brought lots of the plain summer ones and love them but these look more fitted.

Stuff I got for the dcs was lovely, but I've sent all my stuff back. The tops are far too long (and the arms too). Bit disappointed tbh. I don't know if they've changed their sizing or I've shrunk.

mimsum · 17/08/2009 13:39

got the silver ballet pumps for dd hoping they would be narrow enough for her skinny feet - they weren't so they're going back

Bettymum · 17/08/2009 14:06

I got the silver ballet pumps for myself as they're much cheaper than the adult version - but they just slipped off my feet and they went back too.

BadgersArse · 17/08/2009 14:09

boden shoes very odd sizing too small in a 39/6 and very slim - even for my chicekn feet

BadgersArse · 17/08/2009 14:10

no one else on the site thinks the cord skirt sticks out oddly

MayorNaze · 17/08/2009 15:14

MayorNaze · 17/08/2009 15:15
