Boiled wool coat- disappointing and going back- size 10 is generous- sleeves are long and I don't like the funnel neck- makes me look as if I have no neck at all. The wool is soft though not scratchy.

Cashmere cropped cardi- nice except they have sent me the wrong colour wanted grape and got damson ( almost navy if that's what you want)- sending replacement.

Merino tunic in grey- looks good yet to try on.
Sixties mini ( longer length) wool is quite scartchy and have yet to try.

Velvet jeans- yet to try- suspect I will need to lose 4lbs as gradually expanding from a 10 to a 12 and don't want to be depressed!

I like jeans to have a bit of stretch. Will try them out next time I'm going past Top Shop.

BadgersArse · 26/07/2009 16:18

yes btu get 'em tight - they give.

cornsillk · 26/07/2009 16:27

Righto!
Has anyone seen any nice wedges anywhere? I can't be faffed with traipsing round the shops.

TheRealMrsJohnSimm · 26/07/2009 16:31

Badgers.....IKWYM about the print...but I really love it and was hoping that it might look more Toast than Boden

I already have Marthas. Absolutely love them but the rise is just a bit too low for me as I am long in the body. They look great with longer tunic tops but I can't wear anything that finishes just on/above the hip otherwise I become a victim of plumbers bum.....not a great look on a 38 year old woman (or any age for that matter!). I bought some of the straight leg cotton crops from Boden in the summer and the rise is perfect so was hoping the jeans might be the same.

TheRealMrsJohnSimm · 26/07/2009 16:35

Cornsilk - try John Lewis. I have a pair of navy leather peep toe wedges (their own brand) which are just gorgeous. Incredibly soft leather - feels like butter on your feet . Cost £65 but probably cheaper now in the sale.

cornsillk · 26/07/2009 16:39

Thanks - will have a look. I always like a mooch in John Lewis.

BadgersArse · 26/07/2009 17:02

ps RMJS

are we mates now?
[wink}

Mumsnut · 26/07/2009 17:32

I love that Boden dress - but VISCOSE.

BodenGroupie · 26/07/2009 17:44

I got the Trad Viscose Dress and it was awful, much too small (I'm consistently a 12 in their dresses) and the colour was much too bright.

Henley dress was lovely - keeping the grey.

mrsmerryweather · 26/07/2009 18:47

mrsjohnsimm- the rise in the velvet trews is quite generous- I have the same cotton cropped trews as you and I'd say they are about the same.

Brilliant Thanks Mrsmerryweather . Will be ordering them in slate grey when I return from my holiday.

aquavit · 27/07/2009 10:50

BodenGroupie - is the striped top you found tiny and clingy the Parisienne top? cos I liked the look of that but don't fancy anything too tight!

Am waiting for a shirt and one of the spotted scarves...hoping will be yum.

NigellaTufnel · 27/07/2009 11:04

I am waiting for the big box today with all of ds's winter trousers in it. as well as the v necked cardi for me.

I am stupidly excited.

BadgersArse · 27/07/2009 11:07

I am waiting for my delivery of urban mac and some sweters for dh
was banking on him NOT being at home tbh

BodenGroupie · 27/07/2009 12:03

Aquavit - it was the Empire Band Striped Top - horrible cheap stretchy material, really clingy around my reasonably small tum.

I had two Parisiennes last year and loved them but the reviews say they've changed them.

BadgersArse - I have mine delivered to work - unfortunately the 20 men I work with are like surrogate husbands so I got really told off last week when two boxes arrived! Fortunately DH isn't bothered at all.

aquavit · 27/07/2009 12:49

thankyou! That sounds like one to avoid. Have just ordered the Parisienne tee...love this free P&P lark.

BadgersArse · 27/07/2009 12:51

someoen is very cross on there about theParisienne t
sus"i" in Oxford

aquavit · 27/07/2009 13:03

yes I noticed that...but one of her complaints is that it's got longer which rather suits me. (I'm pretending not to have noticed that it's apparently also skinnier.)

Perhaps it's a good sign the old version was so loved?

BadgersArse · 27/07/2009 14:05

right

Sit up everyone
I got the cord mini in a 12 reg, a bit snug on the (rather wide) waist

BUT the oddest thing was that the sillouette sideways is odd. It flares out at the front and back and so sideways you have these sticky out bits.

teh urban/rainyday mac is FABbo, nice straight lines no naff gathering or seams around bust, coudl do wihtout the stupid buttons but love teh shape of it, tres stylish( got the black one). Even the boys liek it.
Am normally a 14, got a 12

pleasechange · 27/07/2009 14:57

badgers - I find the inverted pleat skirt does the same. Good from front but not from side - have to be really careful what top I wear with it

BadgersArse · 27/07/2009 15:29

you kept it?
it has the air of a loo dolly skirt

pleasechange · 27/07/2009 15:35

haha almost!
got it cheapish on ebay

EldonAve · 28/07/2009 10:54

the stuff I ordered last week has dispatched but of course there is now 15% off with A983 and I only got 10% off, grr

fishie · 28/07/2009 11:34

badger i want to know more about cord skirt. will it bag? i like sticky out things as do not have a bottom or hips, would it suit me do you think?

i have got inverted pleat denim from spring it is good on me but a bit long.

Dorothyredboots · 28/07/2009 12:03

I had a mare with my bag of stuff!
Parisienne Tee - I'm also complaining about that on website. All clingy & stretchy and too long & therefore finishes at widest part of torso - not good. Why must they mess about with these successful basic things??
Jersy shirt dress - lovely purple colour. You need to be a stick insect to get away with this - clings everywhere and v expensive for very very ordinary dress in my opinion.
Ditsy print double layer top (or something) -despite the dreadful name this is quite nice and quite similar in fit to the late lamented Parisienne Tee (see above). Bit shorter and baggier. Some will say too baggy but when your mid section is not the best bit of you, needs must.
The cashmere cropped cardigan is nice but I need another colour the gold is actually mustard.
I also took leave of my senses and ordered a woolly scarf with bobbles which is very chunky and feels nasty & cheap. And is almost the same colour as another scarf I have - what was I thinking?
The jury is still out on the gold belt I ordered - its a bit 'skinny' but not too shiny or glitzy so may be a keeper!
Trying the Henley dress next I think...
Hope this helps people...
