Boiled wool coat- disappointing and going back- size 10 is generous- sleeves are long and I don't like the funnel neck- makes me look as if I have no neck at all. The wool is soft though not scratchy.

Cashmere cropped cardi- nice except they have sent me the wrong colour wanted grape and got damson ( almost navy if that's what you want)- sending replacement.

Merino tunic in grey- looks good yet to try on.
Sixties mini ( longer length) wool is quite scartchy and have yet to try.

Velvet jeans- yet to try- suspect I will need to lose 4lbs as gradually expanding from a 10 to a 12 and don't want to be depressed!

Aquavit - I sent it back, I found it a bit too short for my taste, a bit too bum exposing! Also, tight across my (admittedly large) boobs.

I also sent back the striped shirt - I thought it was a bit flimsy and the pocket would stick out under tanks.

Bettymum · 30/07/2009 15:53

I have just ordered the chunky cord jacket. Not sure at all about those patches in the photos but we'll see. I'm 5'5" so the length might be OK on me.
I sent a load of stuff back today:
Velvet wide legs - hideous! Made my little sticky legs look huge, really stiff horrid fabric.
Cashmere cropped cardi - Gorgeous but I should know by now that crew neck/cropped waist does not suit the generous of nork.
Ruffled cardi - odd.
Parisienne tee - very odd! Very very long.
Applique tshirts for DD - didn't even open the packet, weird colours.
Am keeping a stripy tshirt for DD and the red cable cardigan for her, it's lovely.

Still waiting for the rainbow coat in grey.

watfordmummy · 30/07/2009 15:56

Got my urban mac in back today (boring I know, but for work in winter) Very happy with it, as got my 15% off and free delivery!

watfordmummy · 30/07/2009 15:57

should have been black!

traceybath · 30/07/2009 20:51

Denim mini - same problem as with cord mini. Nice from the front but sticky out shape from sides so going back.

mrsmerryweather · 30/07/2009 21:13

Be warned that any mini- cord, velvet, whatever, will cling like mad. I have a black velvet mini in longer size, from last year and it drives me nuts- if you wear it with opaque /thick tights you will be forever pulling it down as it rides up your thighs.

This year I got the 60s wool mini which is lined and it's really nice.

Thanks BodenGroupie, that's v helpful - won't bother with the cord jacket!

My Parisienne tee has just turned up, it's the brown spot (v cute if a tad pyjama-esque). Nice shape - quite a wide neck, a bit of tailoring at the waist, and I like the length (but then, I'm quite long in the body). I wish I didn't know that the fabric used to be thicker and less stretchy, I think I'd have preferred that! Still I am keeping it and pondering ordering more.

EldonAve · 31/07/2009 19:39

My stuff arrived yesterday and it's all going back

Double Layer Henley - didn't suit me, although it did seem nork minimising

Essential V-neck - in white, I didn't notice the silly back lining panel in black and grey

Colourblock Henley - thin and cheap feeling

Hotchpotch Viscose Top - not sure why I ordered it, looked terrible

Knitted Blazer - naff

3/4 Sleeve Viscose Top - too grannish and over £50 for viscose!

Viscose Tunic - yuk

Kept a Jersey Tea Dress for DD and have ordered the Printed Scoop Neck Top in a different size

BodenGroupie · 31/07/2009 20:50

Wow - Eldon, are you a regular Boden shopper? Don't think I've ever managed to return an entire box!

I was disappointed this time but I haven't had the catalogue yet and I usually spot things I missed online.

EldonAve · 01/08/2009 07:09

I'm not a devotee but usually I keep a few things, probably won't bother ordering again though!
I think I should have tried the Parisenne tee as it sounds improved to me

Bettymum · 04/08/2009 09:20

The chunky cord jacket is going back...DH said I looked like Paddington in it (I got the red).
Has anyone got the Soho or Brondesbury blazers?

BodenGroupie · 04/08/2009 09:46

Friend has last year's Soho jacket when it was grey spots - it's gorgeous (but so's she . I don't like this year's colour so much.

Catalogue finally arrived and I was really disappointed.

Bettymum · 04/08/2009 09:59

Oh, well I'm gorgeous too . I quite fancy the red and grey tartan.
Compared to the summer stuff though, I was quite disappointed in this catalogue. I think we can predict what's going to end up in the sales...

BodenGroupie · 04/08/2009 11:08

Yes, often wondered who buys those!

We Bodenistas are all gorgeous (and apparently middle class too)

bellissima · 04/08/2009 11:42

Got home from holiday yesterday to find somewhat soggy delivery box. Put on the grey bib tunic and DH announced that I 'looked like a mormon' (!) It's the bib bit.

DomesticBlobess · 04/08/2009 11:53

I ordered the Sixties Knitted Dress in black, but was just not flattering - quality was good but just felt I could find alot better fit wise - I'm a size 12 but I looked a lot bigger in the dress.

MamaGoblin · 04/08/2009 14:12

Did anyone order the Pintuck Tunic (page 84) in purple? £55. Cos Fat Face are doing a dead ringer for that, for £37... I treated myself the other day and then spotted its doppelganger in the catalogue yesterday. Same cut at the boobs (flattering) and everything! Slightly different pattern but still 'reads' as the same colour.

BodenGroupie · 04/08/2009 15:54

Is it the same fabric? sort of stretchy. I got the Boden one in the pinky red but was wondering about purple.

MamaGoblin · 04/08/2009 18:27

Oh ok, I didn't realise the Boden one was stretchy. It's not - it's a woven cotton without elastane. Um, but it really looks the same!

dexter73 · 04/08/2009 19:03

The red cord jacket might make you look like Paddington but the tartan jacket will make you look like Rupert!

Bettymum · 04/08/2009 20:17

dexter73. Apparently my pyjama trousers already make me look like Rupert.

BodenGroupie · 05/08/2009 08:45

If it's Rupert Everett (sp?) that's fine with me! (Yes, I know he's gay, but he's still gorgeous)

Bettymum · 05/08/2009 09:16

He he I think dexter meant Rupert Bear .
Rupert Everett - swoon.

oysterpots · 05/08/2009 11:47

Why do they only make the Baby range up to 18 months? Then kids are into 2-12 or even 2-14 years.

I don't want my 2 year old son dressing like a 14 year old - plenty of time for that to come - and would definitely buy from the mini Boden range if the Baby stuff came in toddler sizes (up to 5 maybe?).

H&M is the same.

Anyone agree??

fishie · 05/08/2009 13:05

i've got an uptown coat it is very nice but a bit thin. i am keeping it even though it feels ridiculous to buy woolly coats in august.
