Boiled wool coat- disappointing and going back- size 10 is generous- sleeves are long and I don't like the funnel neck- makes me look as if I have no neck at all. The wool is soft though not scratchy.

Cashmere cropped cardi- nice except they have sent me the wrong colour wanted grape and got damson ( almost navy if that's what you want)- sending replacement.

Merino tunic in grey- looks good yet to try on.
Sixties mini ( longer length) wool is quite scartchy and have yet to try.

Velvet jeans- yet to try- suspect I will need to lose 4lbs as gradually expanding from a 10 to a 12 and don't want to be depressed!

I've been reading the reviews of the effortless velvet coat and apparently it is v tight on the shoulders so it won't work for me.
Thinking about the Carnaby Trench in brown now, opinions?

Just got the biker jacket in black for myself [birthday present from dh] Bit bulky, not as fitted as i hoped, but then I am awkward to fit post children. Like it though. Lovely feel and lining.

Got two long sleeved tops for ds. Gorgeous. Still waiting for his trousers.

Got red cord pinafore for my dd, huge on her. Will have to wait till next year for her to wear it. Same with white and black velvet trousers for her. Enormous. Boden toddlers must be Amazonian.

Framey, Carnaby Trench is lovely but comes up huge all over

pofacedandproud · 22/08/2009 22:05

I'll have a look Ruby - thanks.

Just have to say how much my dd and I love the girls easy jersey dress. We bought it in blue and she has now begged for the green. It looks really sweet with the footless tights.

A bit more than I want to spend, but it is very nice. Plain, but girly.

tulpe · 25/08/2009 20:14

pofaced - how are you getting on with the biker jacket now you have adjusted the poppers? I am thinking of buying it in brown.

Does it run true to size?

Will it be warm enough through winter? (with layers, obviously)

abra1d · 23/10/2009 19:02

I have just taken my new biker jacket (black) for its first walk.

I think I like it. The sizes are on the small size, I thought. I'm normally pretty comfortable in a 10 but I wouldn't have wanted another inch off the size 12 I bought.

My husband helpfully pointed out that my bottom half would still get wet in a downpour so if we're in one of those ghastly situations when you have to take the dogs out when it's bucketing I'll have to continue to borrow one of his very unglamorous old Barbours. At least it's remote out here so nobody ever sees me.

Could I wear it to a meeting in London? It's business casual where I have to be.

moodlum · 23/10/2009 19:05

I have just bought the embroidered hem skirt. And I love love love it. DH thinks its quite saucy, I love it, it feels quite warm and snuggly, and I'm just a bit gutted that there aren't enough left for me to have one in every colour. Love it.

abra1d · 23/10/2009 19:11

Which colour did you choose?

moodlum · 23/10/2009 20:29

I chose the navy. Which is great. And I'm currently waiting for the pinky purple one. And, ridiculous as it sounds - I would have loved the slate one too.

How many skirts is too many?

abra1d · 23/10/2009 20:31

I think you should keep on buying them until you find out...

moodlum · 23/10/2009 20:36

That's my theory. But oddly, DH is not supportive..
