Boiled wool coat- disappointing and going back- size 10 is generous- sleeves are long and I don't like the funnel neck- makes me look as if I have no neck at all. The wool is soft though not scratchy.

Cashmere cropped cardi- nice except they have sent me the wrong colour wanted grape and got damson ( almost navy if that's what you want)- sending replacement.

Merino tunic in grey- looks good yet to try on.
Sixties mini ( longer length) wool is quite scartchy and have yet to try.

Velvet jeans- yet to try- suspect I will need to lose 4lbs as gradually expanding from a 10 to a 12 and don't want to be depressed!

cord mini- if anythinglike the velvet mini last year, be warned..it clings/rides up like mad.

I wear mine with tights- of course- and am forever pulling it down. Don't want to buy a slip as I'd need a really short one, and it would add bulk round the waist.

I have noe vowed never to buy an unlined winter skirt from Boden.

This year I have ordered the 60s wool mini in a longer length, as I am only 5'3" and it is just on the knee- it's lines and nice- got the grey one with 20% discount.

dorothy - have your tried on your henley dress yet? Others seem to like it and I'm thinking of ordering one

BodenGroupie · 28/07/2009 15:53

Allnew - I'm really pleased with it. Got it in grey - was a bit surprised the trim is brown rather than black, but maybe it's more "sassy"

Dorothyredboots · 28/07/2009 15:57

Sorry - have not got the Henley dress yet!

BadgersArse · 28/07/2009 16:50

but the cord mini sticks out at the centre front and BAck seem

v odd
good tip about riding up

PutDown · 28/07/2009 17:39

I am keeping the velvet coat in the purple.Have already had past versions of this in other colours but actually prefer this year's model, ifyswim.
Also keeping pintuck tunic in purple/cream.Comes to just above the knee on me at 5ft 3,so can wear as a dress with opaque tights or leggings.
Am probably returning the merino dress in teal though.Comes below knee so looks frumpy. Is lined though, which is a plus, but somehow seems mumsy.
May swap for Henley dress I think.

kikidee · 28/07/2009 19:06

My things still haven't arrived and I'm waiting very impatiently. I got an email on Saturday to say it had been despatched but no sign yet. I've ordered a lot of dresses which I'm keen to report back on.

BadgersArse · 28/07/2009 19:21

they haevnt put my review up

PutDown · 28/07/2009 19:41

Ahh...should I get Henley dress,Sixties dress or Henley tunic??
Cannot decide.
Anything below knee length looks frumpy on me.

pleasechange · 28/07/2009 19:58

bodengroupie - thanks, good sign that everyone seems to like it, might be tempted

badgers - do they edit which reviews they post? Have always suspected this

mrsmerryweather · 28/07/2009 20:06

putdown- have you looked at the dress length measurements? I am the same height as you and have not ordered any of the dresses due to the frumpy- knee length /below knee problem- unless they are NOT knitted and can be shortened.
I need length 37-38 inches ideally and anything like 39 inches or more is out.

OP posts:
PutDown · 28/07/2009 21:40

Agree Mrs Merryweather.Am returning Marvellous Merino Dress and have checked other measurements...Henley dress 39 inches so on knee for me.Sixties Dress is shorter, reviews quite good.
Notice that quite a few reviews of the other dresses are saying frumpy length too!
May wait for Uniqlo or Kew to bring out more Autumn stuff and see what their dresses like.

BadgersArse · 28/07/2009 21:50

not yet and it was a very balanced review
i said i liked the style quilaity etc just not the sticky out bits

BadgersArse · 28/07/2009 21:52

ooh no i am IN IN IN

pleasechange · 29/07/2009 07:19

badgers - I have only ever been asked to write 1 review. Do they only ask you regularly if you buy loads of stuff?

pleasechange · 29/07/2009 07:22

I want the merino ruffle tunic

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 29/07/2009 07:35

The merino rufle tunic is lovely. Long enough to wear with leggings and boots, not too shapeless.

I sent back the "Marvellous Merino Dress", it was too shapeless and too long.

mrsmerryweather · 29/07/2009 07:45

allnew- you write your review next to the items- just above the stock levels there is a link "write a review".

OP posts:
pleasechange · 29/07/2009 07:47

thanks - I'm going to have to buy it! I think I'm better with tunics than dresses given the comments about the dress lengths - am also a bit of a short-arse

pleasechange · 29/07/2009 07:48

merryweather - doh! observation never was my strong point

fishie · 30/07/2009 09:26

what about biker boots? they look a bit blah on the shoe menu bit but more interesting when the models are wearing them - see cord skirt

MimieD · 30/07/2009 11:33

Any one else has the Shirt dress in vintage denim in Long? I'm 5'9" but I find it a tad too short, the sleeves are too short and the waist too high...I thought they sent me a regular 12 first but no it is really a Long...going back then

Urban Mac in black; shapeless, ugly buttons, is already back in the box

Ankle skimmer: cannot decide whether 12L just makes it look like I'm wearing trousers a tad too short and the 12R are too high up...guess I need to get my full workgear on + shoes and get a friend over to decide for me...

BadgersArse · 30/07/2009 12:15

why am i the only urban mac liker?

aquavit · 30/07/2009 13:03

ooh my first things have just arrived. The spotted scarf is gorgeous - soft and superfine weave. Am in two minds about blue striped shirt - it's about half an inch too short in body and arm, but beautifully cut and v nice fabric - dilemma!

Does anyone have the chunky cord jacket? Love the look of it (except perhaps the elbow patches) but I hate my jackets too short - I'm 5'10 so it would need to be a decent length...
